Thank you for the kind words! We always enjoy meeting others out there and talking about fishing. We haven't been to Port A Jetties since the Bull Red video I made.
Good shit bro U gonna start seeing me over there trying to catch my first king I was fishing with Ray this weekend and he told me about ur channel Appreciate the tips 🤙
I found a Rapala Red Fin 5 inch once and at the Bob Hall you could not reel it in with out a Spainish mac , blue fish , pompano or sea gull getting it . It just could not be done. And this couple walking out there asked - do they always bite like that here in Texas - Yeah!!!!
Matt's Saltwater Fishing it’s been at least a month, maybe 2 (edit: just checked Instagram, about 3 months). This coming weekend will be my last fishing trip for a while. My wife and I are having our first baby in about a month and we’ll have our hands full for a long tome.
That fish is still on my list to catch!! Hell of a vid! I might have a few of those lures. I’d love to catch one on a popper. That’s the ultimate hit for me!
They put up 1 heck of a fight! Yeah watching those Kings sky out of the air on a popper is insane! It's like watching a Redfish blowup on a topwater ×100.
@@MADFISHINREELS thanks all is well. Hope you and your family are doing well too. Yeah hooking Kings from the rocks is awesome, landing them is even better! 💪
@@MattsSaltwaterFishing Yeah i was on my way out of there from enjoying a morning with my wife on mustang island. Didnt get much fishing in weather wind was to much for me just small sand trout

Hi Matt, which side of the Packery Channel and which time of the year is the best? I plan to go to Port A this summer and look for your reccommendation. Thank you!
I was on the North side but you can catch them on either side. For Kingfish the best time is usually in the Summer. They go offshore to deeper water during the colder months.
For our big rods that we use for the bigger lures we use a 10 foot 100lb leader with a quick connect at the end to switch lures fast. Depending on what lures we are using we either clip in to the lure directly that has a swivel or like the Rapalas I showed we have a 2-3 foot section of wire already attached to the lure and we clip in to the swivel. The longer leader helps for abrasion resistance and leadering the fish, you can still get cutoff on it though.
Damnit Boy , king fish tutorial and catch and release on a Saturday video release drop and im sitting here at home in San Antonio. Somethings not right here. I was there Wed,thurs small skips and mangroves I need to find me some more lures. Those were some nice Kings. Can you hit them on a cork?
Thank you, Carlos! They will absolutely destroy a live bait under a float. Just make sure you have enough line for that run or else you might get spooled like I did a few times. 😂
@@MattsSaltwaterFishing Yeah i need to find time to hit again over there. Yeah there was chocolate milk last couple days at the jetties. Im taking your advise and gonna look for top waters lures. Thanks to you and Ruben i feel more confident. Excellent content exactly what I was looking for.👍👍👍👍👍
We do not but we have several Bull Red videos you could watch and see that they all share the same thing in common. Cut bait whether it be mullet, whiting, or ladyfish.
The Kingfish love the poppers. We got in to a big school of Kingfish last month at the jetties you can see some insane popper blowups in this video ruclips.net/video/AUEm6lUXthY/видео.html
@@dgarza0672 you're welcome and thank you we appreciate it! We fish Packery often but the past few months we've been going to Port A, if you see us out there fishing feel free to say hi.
@@TridentFishing wire on expensive lures just in case the Kingfish swallows the lure you don't have to worry about getting cut off. That doesn't mean a Kingfish can't go and cut you off above the wire on your braid or mono (I've had this happen). If using a walk the dog topwater then a wire leader would kill the action so you would be better off using mono.

Took me two years of jetty fishing to catch my first and only king so far. Well worth the wait. I caught mine on a Halco
Congratulations on the catch! When that Kingfish takes off on a fast run it is well worth the wait. I have a Halco Max 130 but prefer the Rapalas.
Have you made it back out to Port A jetties recently?

We use the inshore scent.
