Nice video. My wife and I have a home in Frenchglen, Oregon, and are quite familiar with the kind of landscape Christine Thurmer was hiking through. The video looked like it might have been Lake, Harney, or Malheur counties. It's some of the most challenging on the planet, and it can be quite dangerous. I've met and enjoyed a number of hikers making their way across the Oregon Outback. Actually, in my experience, most ranchers won't mind if you hike across their property, so long as you close any gates you've gone through and respect their property. That means, don't leave trash, don't harass their cattle, be respectful of their wells and water systems, etc. Don't worry. They won't shoot you. Generally, ranchers are among the most generous, hardest working, law abiding people I know.
Thanks FG Mike. You live in some beautiful country. I hear you, Andrew and I actually talked to a rancher to help find our meet up spot with Christine and you are right most of the time ranchers are great if you just take the time to say hi to them. I have turned down the wrong dirt road a few times and was met with less than friendly smiles. It is sad our country has a bad reputation when it comes to gun violence. FYI these our my words and not Christine's words, I didn't take the time to ask her why she felt that way.
Great video. I think it would be great if you edited your Insta-Videos and photos to RUclips videos., maybe in coop. with James?
