Welcome back this week I head to Fantail falls but don't realize I'm actually at Pyke Creek. I guess that's why I couldn't find the waterfall. Lovely work, James.
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful. I love it. Good job James 😊
Thanks so much!
Your welcome
Thanks for showing off my country James
It is a beautiful place filled with wonderful people and breathtaking landscapes.
Those overhanging trees look brilliant. Can I be cheeky and ask what creek this is?
Its down by Milford sound ;-)
Why do you have so less subscribers. Video quality is great good landscapes and shots of Nature. Subscribed!
I luv the locations you find....I live in the south Island....shows how you take it for granted
Steve thanks for joining on the adventure. I think rule number one for any photographer or non photographer is just get out there and start looking :-)
@@jameshalfacre you r defiantly not wrong . If you do come back let me know i am sure i can show u some places u never though off
@SteveMeier thank you so much for the offer I'll reach out to you when I get it all planned out.
Beauty of a location. Great photos. I don’t do that much landscape do not traveling but, the little I do, will take at least 2 different exposures or more.
thanks Thomas, I also take different exposures in a lot of circumstances.
This is awesome James! Love this creeks and enjoying it a lot! Love it, what a beautiful place.
Thank you for the kind words Hub de Groot!
Thank you soo much James, for taking me with you on this beautiful location. What a stunning photos! Love it!!!
thank you for watching I'm glad you enjoyed this little adventure.
Peaceful.
Hello, James. Where do you get the beautiful songs of your videos ? They are great and peaceful musics. Thanks...
Hi Rei Do Mato I'm using Soundstripe right now.
What a great little river - and photos to match. Did you use a polariser? And did you deliberately have your tripod at full height on the first shot you showed where you were setting up? If so, what was your thinking?
Thanks for watching Tim, I did have a polarizer on, I almost always have one on when I photograph water. I like to be able to dial in how much reflection I want or don't want in the scene. Tripod position was deliberate for a few reasons; I wanted the back fall to show a bit more, if I went to low I would loose it or just get a tiny bit. Second going to low was giving me too much sky behind/through the trees and that was distracting to me. Great questions and thanks for asking I'll try to talk through these things a bit more in future videos.
New Zealand for the win!
Hard not to win in New Zealand!
Great Video James, it feels very adventurous and alive :)
Thank you @COTU
any chance you remember the name of creek or bridge that went over it...
This one I do. It;s called Cannans creek.
@@jameshalfacre lol thats great
@@jameshalfacre bugger does not show up
I even took a pic of the sign :-( . I'm pretty sure the stream flowed into the Makarora River. I just looked at the pic it also says bridge 8156 if that helps.
@@jameshalfacre thanks thats awesome I will find it...google earth is great
Wow what an amazing spot 🎉
Its nice to stumble across places like this.
Good work. Liked the foreground in particular on the second waterfall shot.
Thank you, it is so beautiful there I'm already planning another trip.
Great video. You go to some beautiful places.
Thank you.
which stream is that ?
Not sure what the name is but Its on Hwy 6 on the Haast river side of the mountain.
@@jameshalfacre can you remember what that yellow road sign is in front of your car where you parked. ?
not sure but I'm pretty sure its about a minute or two (west) past the Haast Look out trail that's where I turned around. Are you familiar with the area?
I found this video after I got home of the same spot ruclips.net/video/4UslQY5EfPs/видео.html
Very cool spot. No idea how you found that location but I can see the appeal of it
Thanks, I drove past it a few times and didn't notice anything, 3rd time I glanced over and thought there might be something there.
@@jameshalfacre That is right off the side of the road?
Sorry no you be able to see it from the road, if you stop and look down you can see the stream but you'll need to find the path and hike back just a bit then down to this spot. wish I could share the coordinates its worth the time to find it.
@@jameshalfacre no worries at all. Was just commenting how great a find it was. I’m in US so I won’t be stopping in. Lol
@@dah7772 I am in NZ and looking trying to find it....not having much luck...lol

Love the vlog James. Glad you have your glasses to see the crisp NZ. Soo beautiful! Love the photo's and that beautiful timelaps. Thanks for taking me with you!
Thanks for the kind words and for coming along!
Just found your channel this morning and just had to subscribe as l look for similar shots to your own and l simply love NZ even though l just across the ditch as they say here in Australia l plan to get to the Sth Island early next year and hire a van and travel for 2 weeks getting my own stunning images. Meanwhile thanks for sharing yours James.
Thanks for joining along, NZ is such a wonderful places. Good luck on your travels and don't forget the bug spray!
Deep thoughts there James. I came to that same realization just the other week. I'll be in NZ next week :)
What parts are you planning to visit?
@@jameshalfacre Milford Sound, Mt Cook, Couple of massive hikes and a couple of littles one also.
@@vladphotos Nice, Milford sound is beautiful, if you have time add Doubtful sound. A bit jealous that you are tackling some big hikes, I haven't done that there. My next trip will be focusing on canyoneering and create images from those adventures. Have a great trip!!
Awesome job James. It is very beautiful. You are taking your Sister right along with you and you know I will never get to see these places myself, but I feel like I am there with you. Be safe.
That's the idea :-)
Much Love from Kenya👍
Back at you Era.
since you are close to tekapo.....try the Lake Alexandrina campground end of the lake as its great for sunsets park just outside the houses and walk through to the lake edge in front of the houses they all have via tiny jettys...very cool
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll take note and check this spot out on my next trip.
The timelapse with the clouds and the blue water is incredible!
Thanks!
Absolutely stunning work.
Thank you!
Glad you got those glasses. Beautiful work as always!
I had a little help with that ;-)
Wow!! What a beautiful location!!! Thank you for bringing me with you on this trip (without the flies here 🙂)
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Gorgeous shots, and locations. Buy bushman’s friend for those nasty blood suckers.
Thank you Donna, I had some bushman' and even went up to the higher deet but I think the water was washing it off :-( and those little suckers were just giving me welcome to NZ kisses, haha
That’s amazing ! I love the pictures !!!
Thank you Marit de Jongh
you can safely drink the water in NZ alpine streams
I thought about it but i saw a lot of the poison signs so I didn't try any.
