That might be true Feb 2nd 2022. The reports of Joe diorio passing are just coming in .there are other people named Joe Diorio. Joe Guitar Diorio Was a dedicated guitarist and should be remembered as a truly "guitarded" brother.

Funny how Pat is the one who has to play in the pocket to keep it grounded. Well only at first. Then it’s the usual chromatics licks he plays on literally every solo. 🥱
he plays them on every solo to please his fans, and then, just piss you off, dude. they are actually kind of annoying,esp on a blues. even if they're ever so hard to play clean ,
Joe got serious half way into his solo and shot for the moon. Truly one of the best improvisers ever.

I don’t hear the Coltrane similarity. Joe sounds like Joe Diorio and his harmonic and improvised approach seems extremely advanced.
