I'm using the same yarn in ocean jasper to crochet a sweater. It's gorgeous.
Your normal way is called english parlour style. Its history is a bit odd and classist as it seems to have developed to distinguish the upper class to the lower working class. Upper class women would knit for leisure (compared to the working class who would do it as a job or out of necessity) and wanted to posh elegant way of knitting to show they were upper class 😂 PS Your sweater is soooo cute! ❤

I am trying to do the basic open knit sweater pattern. I have gotten to the point where I have done the body and I am a bit confused on how you start working on only half. Do you switch which needles are in each hand? what do you do? This is my first time knitting and I am very confused. I would really appreciate your help. Do you have a youtube tutorial/video for this pattern that I could watch? I would really appreciate it.

I both knit and crochet and started as a crocheter too!! And let me tell you, knowing how to crochet helped me understand knitting way easier. It’s actually really easy to do ! Don’t give up !!! I learnt English style knit

they're linked in my amazon storefront which is linked in my bio! although i've actually started using a set with interchangeable needles and cords instead :)
