- Test ride of the 2018 Honda CB1000R.
I first saw the new Honda CB1000R at the EICMA2018 and I thought that it was one of the most beautiful bikes there, so I am incredibly happy to have had the chance to try it.
The engine is really consistent throughout all the rev range, with a lot of torque available already from a few thousand rpm. In sport mode it likes to wheelie in the first two gears, but never finding you unprepared (unlike the Yamaha MT-10/FZ-10).
In the corners it feels quite light and it's easy to change directions. Strangely the brake and suspension settings are quite European-like, being quite sporty. This is a characteristic that I really appreciate and rarely find in Japanese naked bikes.
Overall, this is the liter 4 cylinder I would buy right now.

Congrats and thank you! First person to upload a video of this bike that actually knows how to ride and was not afraid to demonstrate it's capabilities. I could not sit through another video of someone riding around slow speed just off idle in 4th and 5th gear.
Excellent video, actually showed us how the bike reacts to quick acceleration, hard braking, left,right switchbacks and two quick high speed runs up to 138-139 mph ( with ease I might add) The bike seems to be very well balanced with excellent brakes and a nice torquey Honda inline 4 cylinder !! Looks like a beautiful place to ride as well !! Excellent Test Ride !! I want one a CB1000R!!

Is it me or would this bike be a complete riot if it was geared down slightly. I mean, 160 kph in second gear seems to put the bulk of the power out of reach for most situations.
Those four cylinder bikes sound all the same to me it's becoming boring after a while to hear them.Your riding keeps it bearable i wish you were riding a high end Ducati for me Ducati sounds like a machine with character bytheway you are a nice rider stay safe please that road is tricky..
Don’t you miss having wind protection? After 85mph the force of the wind can become pretty intense, eventually unbearable even.

I know you have already heard it but what a great video! Thanks for not putting music over it too. I have been riding for a long time but never sport bikes. Well my Sportster 48 is as close as I have to "sport" right now lol. I am looking into sport bikes and plan to go ride a few today. Again thanks for an amazing video showing what the Honda is really made of.
wow! Beautiful bike and great riding. It´s glorious to see someone really enjoying a bike and while riding fast but within the safety margin. That´s how bikes should be ridden, especially on roads like that. Thanks for sharing.
