#GreekMythology #Mythology #SeeUinHistory #History #MythologyExplained
See U In History, you guys are amazing. First you gave us the Trojan War. Then the voyage of Odysseus. Now we need the journey of Aeneas to complete the trilogy. The Iliad, Odyssey and Aeneid all wrapped up together like this would be epic.
It's soo good.
I'm definitely down for that! Excellent idea!
i’ve read this a million times when i was in school! now, listening to it to sleep. what a full circle moment
😃👏🎉 Now that was greatest complete story of The ILIAD and the ODYSSEY of Homer Adventures in Mythology. This is masterpiece and classic from beginning to the end!
4HOURS LONG IM LIVING FOR THIS
As a trucker i need these long videos
So awesome I’m super excited more great stories
Iphigenia's death is always impossible to fathom and digest. What an amazing story.
Lovely drawings.... we've been enjoying your uploads for several years now. Really, they are the best.
1. Where are the cartoons from
2. Is there gonna be a Arthurian Legend S2
3. Why does the abandonment of kids who are princes happen so much (Arthur, Paris, Oedipus, etc.)
4. Why choose in impartial jury and then immediately everyone bribe him
So much work goes into this, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for making the content you guys do, This is Legendary stuff. Praise be to Zeus!
My man your animation are just awesome, the way of your story telling would even bring smile to the face of homer, Eagerly waiting for Aenied though - the virgils masterpiece and classic end to this trilogy is really needed !!
The Aenid was commissioned by Ceaser or Octavian? Or maybe was it later I dunno
Hold up! The art work was custom made for the video!?!? SERIOUSLY??? It's such high quality that I just assumed it was pulled from some graphic novel!
This deserves so much attention it’s amazing!!
Agreed.
This is a work of art!
Indeed! Such good illustration and the narration is perfect in my opinion.
These mythology videos are like a journey through time and legend. So captivating!
Bro..... The Trojan War is literally the God's playing Civ 5.
Earned a sub and like for this one, great work.
This was a cool watch. Great video, thank you.
This is quite impressive. I hope one day you will cover the epics of China, like the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Water Margin
When I read Homer epic, one thing astonished me is the narrative structure of odyssey, it’s very modern and complicated. I can’t believe it’s written 3000 years ago.
True.
This is absolutely amazing!! Whatever magic you guys are practising, keep it up!
Thanks!
The two greatest stories ever told.
Love the tale and various retellings
Age of Bronze is one of my favourite
Not mermaids but sirens, mythical songbirds with woman's heads and sweet bewitching voices luring sailors toward their death by drowning.
Troy story 1 and Troy story 2.
ANDY!
Odysseus is gonna get cooked again 😢😢
Again?
I guess he did get cooked quite a bit didn’t he?
Alright my brothers listen closely
Tonight we make the Trojans pay...
@@greylithwolf TEN YEARS OF WAR THEY KILLED US SLOWLY. BUT NOW WE’LL BE THE ONES TO SLAYYY!!!
ten years of war they killed us slowly tonight we'll be the ones who slay@@greylithwolf
Beautiful artwork!
When's the Aeneid?
Yes please
After the Odyssey
4 HOURS LONG VIDEO... 😎 NOW THAT'S HOW YOUR HONOR THE GODS AND HEROES ❤❤
❤🤍💙 all your videos mate👍
I LOVE HISTORY, ITS ALMOST LIKE A WEIRD MAGICAL FEELING TRYING TO RECREATE THESE STORIES IN MY MIND
Why are you yelling? And not one word of this is “history” smh
@@danielcronin7512i mean there's a scholarly consensus that some of the characters and locations were involved in the war, so saying "not a word" is a bit harsh. It's more likely that at least the Iliad is historical fiction
@@thomasvollenweider1069 right cause that's what @tyrJustice meant
So basically, this whole war was because Zues in is infinite wisdom decided not to get involved in an immortal cat-fight. Pawned it off on poor Paris.
If Zeus made the choice he would have to deal with them his entire lifetime. If Paris does it a kingdom dies. Priorities man.
In my opinion, these are the greatest poems in history
Some stories last through the ages and are reinvented time and time again. These days we have Marvel movies and soap operas retelling the tales of the Greek heroes, but the old ones still hold up.
Thank you so much
Realy great! Better then 95% of the movies that are made!
Wow, hats off, SUIH!
2:08:44 Achilles: "Harry Potter; uh, I mean Hector, is dead!"
I doubt the maker of this video will see this, but I'll give it a shot: what modern translations did you used as sources for this?
If you ever cover the Mahabharatha you'd need an entire series. It makes Homer's work look like a kids book
It really does. However if the Scythians had a written language swear it'd make the Mahabharata look like a kids book.
Greek mythology is my favorite mythology. I'll summarize it for the youngings in few words. Human insult god, God keep grudges, Human suffer, Human regret, repeat with different human and different plot. Greek mythology in a nutshell.
There's also some gods vs gods thrown in there too. 😂
My summary was always,
"Oh no, here comes Zeus..."
Man great job 10/10
How about Publius Vergilius Naso's The Aenid and The Song of Roland?
how have i just found you?!
Who illustrated all of this? I see no credits for the art/narration or music.
Anyways what an enjoyablething to have on youtube, truly timeless, well done!
Thanks, we are so glad to read your comment!
The art and narration are by our See U in History team, we use music from the Epidemic Sound library. Artist credits are in the individual videos for each series. You can check it out on our channel, the Iliad and the Odyssey have several videos for each story.
Αnyone knows the names of the songs used for this magnificent video?
Anyone else yearn for mutual combat and glory?
Symphony X does a spectacular 34 minute long epic song on The Odyssey
Rhaegar & Lyanna = Paris & Helen. Stanis sacrificing his daughter just like Agamemnon did. I can tell that JRR Martin took a lot of inspiration from the Iliad for his book series.
im rooting for troy 😢 sad theyre defeated
Gracious God, we thank you for the blessings bestowed upon us each day. Help us to cultivate a heart of gratitude, recognizing the beauty and goodness that surrounds us, even in times of difficulty.
Where do I buy this comic?
I would have definitely chosen Athena 🤷
Correct me if I’m wrong but in the beginning he says priams second child was destined to ruin Troy but wasn’t it his older sister Cassandra who foresaw that? She had the ability to tell the future and that’s how they first learned it. Maybe another version was told this way
Aeneas is my favourite
The first Western literature, this is historical, Greece was our ancestors and we inherited from them the culture, literature, stories, poems...
And they had the most bad and evil slavery of all time.
@@Jackblade67 LoL...oohhh. ahhh
what are you gonna do about chinas slaves today? complain about the past?
@@duckjohnson7747 LoL...U can smell the complainers from a mile away these days..Cry me a Midol Moment

When your city is getting compared to Atlantis….
I would love to know who created these comic panels.
This is much different than song of Achilles
yep i keep being like “no they were not friends they were lovers!”
This is my favorite video at this challenge.
Do you know that "Foca na história" is a Brazilian channel that dubbs and reposts your videos?
Found this channel and I'm baffled that this is the original content
@EricSoaresE
Hi Eric. Both channels are mine. And the "original" is the channel in Portuguese, which is older and many videos are posted there first 👍
Oi Eric. Os dois canais são meus. E o "original" é o canal em português, que é mais antigo e muitos vídeos são postados lá primeiro 👍
Achilles regretted his choice of fame over a long life telling Odysseus " better the lowest helot alive than the greatest warrior in hades
Would be a great listen to fall asleep to if not for the amount of adverts, you will be forever getting disturbed to be skipping them as the adverts are full adverts not short ones that you can just wait out..
Of all the gods and goddesses, Hades and Hestia were the only ones who have good reputation. Others were either madapaka or beaches.😂
They're all great
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
3:47 hail eris!!! Hotdogs for all. Im sorry though we are out of buns!
Why does the start of the illiad remind me of snow white, Moses, Romulus and Remus, etc
Shouldn't this be 20 years long?
Is it just me or does the voice narrator sound like David Hayter?
The music is deafening.
Music is very irritating. Sorry.
Iliad and Odyssey seem like the simple version of Ramayana
the music makes this unwatchable 😕
Only second to Beavis and Butthead do America!
and peeps wonder who the sea peoples were
Menalaous, king of Sparta, king of simps
I dont get how paris defeated hector
He didn't. Achilles did
The contest in the beginning?
Why does narrator sometimes call achilles pelides? Is it just a slip up/mistake? Seems to frequent for that to be the case...
No mistake. Achilles is also known as Pelides, which means son of Peleus
@@SeeUinHistory Ohhhh ok 👍 Thanks for taking the time to clear that up! It is appreciated. Fantastic video!!
The more your read about the Olympians, the more you know that Acient Greek has the most narcissistic gods in the world. Jealousy, unfair, incel, and horniness are the labels of Olympians.
Why do you keep calling one side Greeks but not the other?
Trojans weren't greek, the only thing they shared was similar religion. Different language, culture etc.
I hope everyone realizes this is all fake, made up, did not happen, pie-in-the-sky stuff. Right up there with the "Cow jumped over the Moon".
Yeah, but turning water into wine is really the truth😂
The ruins of Troy have been found , and the Greek alliance kinda resembles the sea people who invaded eastern Mediterranean during the Bronze Age collapse . Obviously the gods don’t come and deflect arrows or spears but the overall story is quite plausible..
Just like your Jesus.
The word is "SOUGHT" _NOT_ 'seeked' 🤬
Oh no, what a catastrophic error. That's it scrap the lot.
Simple solution......don't watch this free video
😂😂😂The 'story of' not the epics themselves. Lightweight and lacks the beautiful poetry of the original.
I think everyone should read the original, like you said, it's beautiful. But for those who prefer RUclips content, I'm really proud of what we accomplished with this video.👍
All Names are slaughtered again 😂😂😂 This sounds so Alien to us Greeks please get it right I appreciate the efforts and bringing those epics to the masses but man common seriously? Why do you guys always want to localize Our sht while we Are obligated to speak proper English and not do 1 mistake? Geez
This is definitely ai generated
You must be kidding me!
Not only we worked for over 3 years on these stories, you can see the progress here on the channel and the credits of all the artists involved.
It really saddens me that you guys can't tell real artist's work from AI.
@@SeeUinHistory
Agreed. That's insulting.
But in defense of this poster I didn't see any credit in the description or the video to the narration, artists or musicians so i think many people will sadly think it is AI generated and that is a shame.
@@SeeUinHistory
Maybe in the video description you should link the videos that show the team creating this epic work because you all do a great job bringing these epic tales to a modern audience.
Hi @NOMAD-qp3dd
Even on videos where we post credits in the description, people comment every day saying it's AI. This surprises me because we work with AI videos and the current state of AI doesn't deliver anything close to what we accomplished in this series.
Anyway, I'm glad there are subscribers like you who see the value in our work. Thank you for your comments and support!😊
Believe it or not, the Tethyan geologic features are named after characters and places in Homer's The Iliad and The Odyssey. 🏛
