I grew up in a raised bamboo house when I was a kid. Could see under the house through the floor and can see the burglar coming and looking for things to steal. Would yell, magnanakaw! magnanakaw!. Lol

Maganda'ng Bahay! How did U treat the Bamboo to avoid the Bamboo starch eating insects? Or did U buy the Bamboos already Pre-Treated?

I think it was only built a year after Typhoon Odette, based on their IG. But yeah, same concern. I guess they can just rebuild it if it gets destroyed by a storm.

Tatagal kawayan pag tama treatment at preperation ng material...can last 25years or even more basta wag mabasa....bamboo should low cost and quick to build para kahit masira sa bagyo madali palitan...bamboo can stand lindol sasayaw lang yan....maliban sa prisko at pang tropical, bamboo can save trees, kasi need only 3years para mag mature plus can multiply easily, minsanan lang itanim dadami na kusa....yun lang mahirap ipaintindi sa mga tao, kawayan ay para lang sa nagiisip at nakakaintindi...Ngbdesinyu nya ay hangu sa bali na canadian architect ang nag ompisa, pero hinaloan nya nga native materials such at capis, anahaw at abaca...galing at ganda.

You can expect it to always be damp or wet even without rain, because Siargao is surrounded by the ocean and so “bugawis” (sea breeze) is always present. But I think they already accounted for that prior to building the structure.

If it is properly treated and keeps dry, then 30 years or more.
