One thing I noticed is that you always move first. If you use an item like lagging tail or ability like stall, that forces you to move last, would it actually mess the scripted battle and softlock the game? Also, maybe you can scape by holding a shed shell or smoke ball?
I actually tried this a bit, smoke balls and shed shells dont work sadly :< Its the same thing as pokemon trainers

It was quite clear from the last video and this confirms it:
not a single move works at all
but abilities do, so you should play with those like with shadow tag
From ditto being able to transform and get it moves with no bugs we can observe that this is a real pokemon. So theoretically if you somehow hacked a pokeball throwing option into the menu you could have a legendary pokemon in the tutorial of the game.
Nevermind the Pokéball, you can just hack this Legendary into your party.
No bag option.

It's worthless to suggest moves, only their animation plays and their effects don't trigger in the first place. That's why you need to think in terms of ablities and items. My suggestions:
- Trace. What ability will you copy from the doggo?
- Mold Breaker/Neutralizing Gas. Will that allow you to bypass the anti-move effect?

Yeah. So if the moves effects being cancelled is caused by the doggo's ability, rather than being coded into the battle itself, this could mean you would now be free to use any move.

My interpretation when they say "for some reasons" is more like "the trainer is entranced" or "his body doesnt move at all / doesnt respond".

It's because a legendary is supposed to be much stronger than any clone in lore. Unmatched by literally anything other than itself exactly or in this case Zamazenta or Eternatus as well, and ditto cannot match up to that.

Not only did Leon was this Leon's idea right after Hop told him about it, but when you encounter the apparition again later, Sonia is unable to see it.

General rule of thumb with the battle:
Whatever move you use won’t work. The coding makes it so they act as splash.
So maybe so cool abilities that I don’t know about could do something???

There's something called battle types. Like...
In basically every game, there's wild and trainer battles, with trainer battles preventing running and pokeballs in its programming
In Ultra games, there's form battles and the Aether laboratory battle, where pokeballs are disabled (run might be disabled as well in form battles, haven't tested)
In this game, there's this battle, where it forces the Bag and Pokemon options to not be there, is scripted to have the enemy Pokemon do specific things, and displays the enemy's level as ???. Move effects aren't called, so nothing works. However, abilities still work, as the battle is supposed to look normal at first. It also prevents running

does everyone know this is a coded scripted event, most likely all moves are programmed to be disabled only allowing the animation to play, only way to make it work would be to hack the game itself.
Unless of course you use the move disable...

Theres a move known as belly drum or belly dance, cant remember. You can remove half your hp using it

Now that i've seen both videos, they did a really good job on this. They knew people would hack into the system. Thus, they made it almost impossible for this part of the game to be game breaking. Not only did they restrict catching (so you couldnt just get an instant legendary in the beginning) but even if it was possible to do anything (such as the experiments in the two videos), they made sure that managing to kill Zacian or Zamazenta only gave 1 exp to still keep people from going too crazy on this fight without breaking the game. Well done Gamefreak... Well done *starts clapping from being impressed* ._.
Pretty sure the fight gives 1 EXP because that's the default amount and they never bothered to change it because they thought it was impossible to beat anyway. If anything, the fact that using moves on YOURSELF doesn't work or at least get alternate dialogue shows how _little_ thought they put into this game...

It would still be the same outcome of you just finding yourself on the ground because you "blacked out" from the battle. Sure, maybe it would be cool to just end the battle by self fainting your pokemon but as a gamer, it won't make sense to be losing any money for a battle that gives nothing as a reward. Not to mention it being in the beginning of the game where you barely have anything. 😂
Dexxus stop trying to pinpoint about every way they’re lazy about the game.
So basically the weird illusion animation for Zacian/Zamazenta's first encounter only occurs with the starter Pokémon. Any other Pokémon, you're able to see the attack animations but the text box about the move not affecting still pops up.
So, essentially, the starters are locked into not being able to "attack" the doggos

Though if you think about it, since the starters are always going to be level 7 or 8 when you get to the Slumbering Weald, wouldn't it be the moves that the starters have at that level that trigger the effect and not the starters themselves?
Well, no shit. You're only expected to have your starters at this point since you basically go through this part right after you get them. Of course it would be done this way. It's not interesting at all. It's obvious.

Here some suggestions
Make the pokemon use struggle and see if the move has any affect
use a legendary or myth (like mew or mewtwo) and see if they can harm it
use zamazenta or zacian to attack it
And if you can use magic bounce to counter the haze

Struggle is a move, so I doubt it’s coded to work (but I’m curious to see that anyway)
Legendaries and mythicals are all the same as far as the coding is concerned, they wouldn’t be able to attack.
Magic Bounce wouldn’t work since this is a field effect, I assume some sort of unused terrain since it worked with Hail.
Zacian:if you want to escape you owe me 352₽,my creators taught me everything,also don’t forget you can get mew for only 50$ and keep all your old pokemon in pokemon jail ehm I mean pokemon home for only 5$ per year.

That with Shedinja was a really cool idea. Was it healed after the battle? The developers might have overlooked that since they never expected you to be able to take damage during the fight. It might be a good idea to test some other pokemon abillities/items that work outside of the attacking phase because that phase seems to be skipped.
You might not take damage during the fight, but you can take damage before it. You’re fully healed after the fight.

If you start any battle with pre fainted Pokemon you'll just instantly faint and pay money for "losing"

So moves don't work in any way but abilities do that's interesting.
It makes sense that GF didn't actually code in anti ability/item effect into the fight. By this point the only expected thing for us would be out starter which only has an ability that affects their Same type move and no items. Still it seems they used some kind of global script for it though since no datamine revealed an ability like that to exist.

It has attacks, there’s just some AI that prevents it from doing that.
Look you can forget about using moves. There's a script within the battle itself that changes their effect into "The move had no effect?" So unless you find a way to bypass it no attack will help.
Also what about cursola and its ability?
I don't get it, it doesn't uses moves so the ability is useless

also try hacking moves like defog perish song and mean look onto a golurk with no guard since we saw that no guard made it so your moves could hit/target even though they did no damage also try stuff like curse and then some self damaging items that can kill quick enough or even something like life orb and see if h still take damage even if u cant deal damage to them
Defog, Perish Song, and Mean Look all landed on the Pokémon. As we've seen from these tests, literally all forms of moves won’t be usable, and it’s not because of accuracy.
Curse won’t work either because it’s a move, and there’s no way to give the Pokémon a self-damage item since the only ways are by *moves*
The only things we can do to try outcomes at this point are items on our own Pokémon, or abilities.

and also life orb want to see if you atack will you still be affected by life orb damage or if it will count as the move missing and wont take damage from it
