  • In this episode we focus on the first days and weeks spent with our adoptive son at home. There were lots of different expected and unexpected challenges in adjusting with him, both for us as parents as well as for our daughter and for ... himself. But we could also see small improvements after the first few days, and that fueled our determination to continue and sparked our hope that things would get better with time.

Adjusting to an adoptive child could be more challenging that doing it with a biological one. But both are challenging. And both very rewarding as well :)

Raising a child takes a lot of stamina and faith. In my view, parenting is the toughest job of them all, the toughest challenge, especially since the feedback you get from the child - whether it's your biological or adoptive one - can be lacking or come later than we'd want. I commend you for sticking to your goals and not giving up. It would be great if you could share with us the resources and support people, associations, groups you turned to in your journey. Both of you inspire me. Thank you and sending you all the blessings ^_^

Thank you for your kind comments and emotional support, Emma! It means a lot :)
We have mentioned the main organizations that supported us during the adoption journey in the 4th episode - below is the link. There were multiple support group meetings, a few camps in the mountains with other adoptive families, and sometimes just an ear to listen to our struggles.
