Growing up as a teenager I rode sled all the time. 20 years ago I broke my arm ditch banging and haven't rode since lol. I wanna get back into it but it doesn't hardly snow up here anymore

@@KotaBearTV i got around 60 miles on it now its very similar to my 2004 mxz renegade 600 ho carb power wise cuz piston size on the ski-doo 600 is 72mm bore an stroke is 73mm. An polaris 650 is 74.8mm bore an 74mm stroke ima line em up an race em man.
Ya do a lot of riding around the North Shore area. Average 150 inches of snow up there. And also Bemidji area northwestern MN. Looking forward to more videos. Have a 2015 pro s switchback 800 with over 8,000 miles. So buying a new VR1 or Assualt next year. Keep the videos coming. Hope your snow stays.

What an epic way to break in the new sled, that is like RMK deep snow. At first as soon as I saw those little 121 inch tracks I was like no way those things are going to get stuck lol. I would love to see what the matrix headlight beam does on highbeam, maybe next time you do a video at night. They say the matrix LED headlight is supposed to be really bright but The AXYS headlight is also LED and really bright, would you say the matrix headlight is brighter?

I've got a '21 Matryx Assault myself but have no snow here yet in MN. Would love to see that snow over here! I had a few triples over the years too and heard those screaming in your video. I know they're heavy pigs, but I still love that sound! ;)

The sks was an amazing sled but all the new options on the matryx I had to switch back they are both very good and capable sleds and yeah ill be in Maine the end of February so hope they get some good snow then!!

I was able to put over 1000 miles on it last year(riding in Southwest) , I'm about 65% trail(MOSTLY UNGROOMED) 35% off , Best Handling Sled I have owned ... Power Increased over time , along with Top Speed. I do a lot of Trail breaking , ungroomed Forestry Trail Riding , and man , the Riot did everything I was hoping for , no more getting stuck, Feels very confident Riding pretty much anywhere I need to go know... I did do 2 Mods... Installed MBRP Trail Can, and a Earth X Lithium Battery , between the both I dropped about 15lbs from Weight of Sled... Oil Consumption has been good , Not bad MPG either for a 800 2 Stroke... First Time a Spring Checked a Sled , and I dont regret it at all ... Meadow Play has been a blast , I love jumping with the sled, hehe... In 2020 Price was @ 11,799 in US, with QS3 shocks..lots of extra Goodies that other charge extra for... You should also have filming "more" of the others sleds so we could se how hard and problem they had and how slow they go in the deep snow and of course so we also could se how and when they get stuck 😊.
So unfortunately I'm having issues with my seat I latch it down properly so it doesn't budge and then I start riding lean to get on one ski and the front pops off for some reason its a huge pain but I think I'm the only one having the issue..
If you took of the rear plastic support with the 1/4 turn and put it too far back, it’s possible the front mount isn’t fully engaging. Front interface/attachment is identical to Axys.
All snowmobiles through a GoPro all sound like they are blown up or blowing up lol.. Polaris, skidoo all of them haha. Nice sled.. hopefully you don’t get the spark plug problems continuing with yours. My buddies last year even at 1000 miles still Would foul plugs if it idled More then a couple Mins.

Lucky. My rmk has fucked up 3 times already since I got it and Ive only got to use it like a total of 3 days. It seized days after I got it and after 3000$ in repairs its fucked again for now. Sucks cause theres a foot of snow coming tonight and theres no possible way mines fixed in time
@@KotaBearTV ye the owners lied about it. Said it was completely rebuilt with 200 miles on new motor and they never mentioned it had like 4 owners plus used in the mines. No way I ever EVER would have chosen it if I knew that

Congratulations on being the first video showing the new LED headlight. So how is it compared to the AXYS LED? It really looks like it has too much of a focused beam, it could just be the video though. So what are your thoughts?
So it is a very focused beam but you can still see around the beam its just not as bright so I would say it is better than the axys lights those were also the low beams not high beams
The sled feels very good i like the smaller tank up front feels way better doesn't feel like the tank is spreading your legs anymore uncomfortably the 7s display is amazing I leave maps up most of the ride becuase it is so nice to see where the trail is if you are not familiar and the new heated hand grips is a game changer
Is that breaking in the motor correctly just wondering my VR1 did not come in yet. I want to break in the rite way they these Polaris motors need to be in broken correctly from what I'm hearing.
Technically it is not the full on correct way to break them in but don't put oil in the gas tank the oil pump is set up were it automatically puts in the right amount and honeslty this is how I broke in my last 2 850s I had and I had no issues so its comes down to just being lucky or not lucky
Sks definitely better off trail.. I kinda wish they had the gripper skis on the assault this years also not a huge fan of the grippers.. assault the rear skid eats the bumps up on trail better and the narrower gas tank up front makes it super easy to transfer weight into the corner
No not really polaris has modes built in for break in so it already puts extra oil in for the first 10 hours of riding and extra gas for the first 2 hours so really you just gotta get out and ride but don't just hold the throttle to the bar right out of the gate and if you do only do it for 2 or 3 seconds ans get off it

Awesome video man. I’m going to snow check an Assault 146 this spring. What track did you end up choosing? Tempted to do the 2”, but I ride a lot of high speed trails also and don’t want to sacrifice top speed as much. Tough call
I got the 2 inch lug i will get a top speed test video up later in season on a lake so you can see but the 2 inch is great but idk how well it will hold up if you ride alot of hard pack trail at fast speeds
I rode 800 miles last year on my sks146 with 2.25 inch lug prob 400 miles on hard pack trail and it did fine other than the few stumps I hit under the snow that the only reason I had 2 lugs missing

I'm in upstate NY the big Noreaster gave us some good snow!! Hopefully you guys get some good snow before mid feburary cause ill be up there around then
So far from what I've rode is it handles the corners alittle better but its not as playful as the sks was and it definitely does not wheelie as good at all either but its still a very good sled and love the new 7s display and the new regulated hand guards
It was such a good time and the seat keeps disconnecting on the front for some reason really pissing me off pretty sure I broke it hopefully I get a solution for it soon

We sure did get alot of snow from this snow we got 18inches. We went riding on Saturday they had over 2ft. Got about 200 miles in already

Hell yeah man it was great and also the matryx light I wouldn't say it's to much brighter but the beam goes further and more precise

So unfortunately I'm having issues with my seat I latch it down properly so it doesn't budge and then I start riding lean to get on one ski and the front pops off for some reason its a huge pain but I think I'm the only one having the issue..

If you took of the rear plastic support with the 1/4 turn and put it too far back, it’s possible the front mount isn’t fully engaging. Front interface/attachment is identical to Axys.

All snowmobiles through a GoPro all sound like they are blown up or blowing up lol.. Polaris, skidoo all of them haha. Nice sled.. hopefully you don’t get the spark plug problems continuing with yours. My buddies last year even at 1000 miles still

Hell yeah I'm not sure where you ride but the 146 with the 2.25 honestly is enough to do almost anything
Lucky. My rmk has fucked up 3 times already since I got it and Ive only got to use it like a total of 3 days. It seized days after I got it and after 3000$ in repairs its fucked again for now. Sucks cause theres a foot of snow coming tonight and theres no possible way mines fixed in time
So I take it you got a used rmk? That sucks either way though hopefully you figure it out soon!
@@KotaBearTV ye the owners lied about it. Said it was completely rebuilt with 200 miles on new motor and they never mentioned it had like 4 owners plus used in the mines. No way I ever EVER would have chosen it if I knew that

@@KotaBearTV just coming back to say my brothers fucking 2015 polaris assault 800 just seized 10 minutes ago. It had 400 miles on it and it was his first real ride on it this year. Not just in the yard
No way that is insane the 800 motors were very reliable im am super shocked you guys are having some really bad luck!! I hope it changes!

hey, what did you think of the sled? im contemplating getting a ski doo backcountry xrs or a 2021 Assualt, my dealer has one that is slightly used for 15k and it looks great. Did you have the the 2 inch track?
i had the 2 inch track on and i prefer the polaris over the skidoo but both are very good sleds

Yes the speedo is mph and it all depends on where your gonna ride i know the 146 can handle some deep snow and still rip the trails!
Did you figure out that seat. I’ve got the same sled. Push down hard on the front when installing it and slide it forward.
Yes it doesn't happen anymore rode 300 miles no issues now

Congratulations on being the first video showing the new LED headlight. So how is it compared to the AXYS LED? It really looks like it has too much of a focused beam, it could just be the video though. So what are your thoughts?
So it is a very focused beam but you can still see around the beam its just not as bright so I would say it is better than the axys lights those were also the low beams not high beams

It sure is and I think my seat is faulty yes the part in the front that the latch goes in to is twisted..

The sled feels very good i like the smaller tank up front feels way better doesn't feel like the tank is spreading your legs anymore uncomfortably the 7s display is amazing I leave maps up most of the ride becuase it is so nice to see where the trail is if you are not familiar and the new heated hand grips is a game changer

Its the new headlight its more of a confined beam it works really good should have had them on high beam to show how good they are
Here in Alaska there are no trails and the 137 does better it turns better builds up with less ice and is faster
Its all about preference the 137 is way better for trail but the 144 is the best 50 50 on and off

Is that breaking in the motor correctly just wondering my VR1 did not come in yet. I want to break in the rite way they these Polaris motors need to be in broken correctly from what I'm hearing.
Technically it is not the full on correct way to break them in but don't put oil in the gas tank the oil pump is set up were it automatically puts in the right amount and honeslty this is how I broke in my last 2 850s I had and I had no issues so its comes down to just being lucky or not lucky

Overall how do you like your assault 146? I just snow checked two of them. It seem to pop up in the deep stuff really well?
I like it for sure the sks was better off trail but the assault can handle its own for sure it gets on top of the deep snow and goes
How does this compare to your sks last year? on and off trail?
Sks definitely better off trail.. I kinda wish they had the gripper skis on the assault this years also not a huge fan of the grippers.. assault the rear skid eats the bumps up on trail better and the narrower gas tank up front makes it super easy to transfer weight into the corner

No not really polaris has modes built in for break in so it already puts extra oil in for the first 10 hours of riding and extra gas for the first 2 hours so really you just gotta get out and ride but don't just hold the throttle to the bar right out of the gate and if you do only do it for 2 or 3 seconds ans get off it

Awesome video man. I’m going to snow check an Assault 146 this spring. What track did you end up choosing? Tempted to do the 2”, but I ride a lot of high speed trails also and don’t want to sacrifice top speed as much. Tough call
I got the 2 inch lug i will get a top speed test video up later in season on a lake so you can see but the 2 inch is great but idk how well it will hold up if you ride alot of hard pack trail at fast speeds

if you’re riding more on trail then off don’t get the 2. the soft lugs will fold.
I rode 800 miles last year on my sks146 with 2.25 inch lug prob 400 miles on hard pack trail and it did fine other than the few stumps I hit under the snow that the only reason I had 2 lugs missing

So it was never actually flickering when I was riding but for some reason the go pro picks it up that way for some reason

So far from what I've rode is it handles the corners alittle better but its not as playful as the sks was and it definitely does not wheelie as good at all either but its still a very good sled and love the new 7s display and the new regulated hand guards
