2023 GMC Canyon Denali - Is The Canyon BETTER Than Ever?

  • Let’s face it. When the first generation of the GMC Canyon made its debut it was less than successful. The second generation of the Canyon was a cast improvement as it departed from being the truck that was more like a GMC Jimmy, not that the Jimmy was a bad little truck.
    While the second generation Canyon made tremendous forward progress, the third generation debuting for the 2023 model year is quite possibly one of the best-redesigned models we have seen. Is it better than ever? Discover the answer in today’s Vehicle Visionary video!

    Beautiful truck. GMC should offer a flat black hood decal to cut down of sun glare. Don,t care for the running boards. Nice sprayed in bed liner. The plastic slip-in ones just ruin the bed paint. Beautiful interior and layout. The sunroof with a manual slide is nice. You can place it where you want. Shift location is fine for me. Glad the Auto Start Stop can be turned off. Hate them!

    Wow, it's very nice with a nice price as well. Mid truck pricing is getting into full size pickup trucks

      @johnwhitneykokalis9990 Год назад +3

      I agree. These midsized have evolved into what seems to be a more maneuverable and more comfortable riding truck that stops easier and parks easier and feels like you are driving a midsized SUV rather than a full sized truck. I sold my 2019 Sierra Elevation earlier this year and have been driving my new 2023 2wd Canyon Elevation for about a month now and I am super impressed with its driving dynamics compared to the Sierra. The Sierra was like driving a bus to work every day. I needed a truck only for picking up hard wood lumber for my furniture building bussiness/hobby and maybe I will use it for a small fishing boat to tow around in the next year or so and I can easily pull my dads 23 ft Sailboat out of the lake in the fall season. It just wasn't practical to own a huge Pickup when a the Canyon can accomplish my needs more easily and economically. That 430 lbs of torque is very substantial for meeting my towing and driving needs.

    Yes this is a handsome truck however, the MPG really sucks for a mid-size truck. I average 23 mpg with my 2020 F150 Lariat, RWD, 2.7 turbo! It's bigger overall and much more interior space and has been trouble free for over 45k miles!

      The Colorado comes in at a little less, with some more spartan trims.
      I do enjoy that this has an interior which mimics the larger sierra for fit and finish. Great for those who want a smaller truck, but don't want to give up the interior quality (which it feels like you do in the Maverick/Ranger/Ridgeline etc.

    I have owned several Colorados and of recent Canyons. 2009-2021 editions. Greatest disappointment has been the lack of tech integration. From the 2015-2023, to drop the V6 for a 4cyl, turbo is unacceptable, but now I can pay more for the 4cyl. I am aware of the torque and power increases, but the fuel economy stinks with this change. Further more to force a 4WD on someone is ridiculous. That also minimizes fuel economy. Oh I know you can get a 2WD version, but not on the Denali, and so you have to piece a vehicle together for greater costs. Finally, it appears that installing a "HomeLink" System is either too difficult, expensive, or complicated for your engineers on this model.
    Oh but you will let me pay $10K more for pretty much the same vehicle as my 2021. WOW.

    GM designers seem to be focusing on the wrong things; chrome, luxury, ...
    they should focus more on; off-road capabilities, ruggedness, durability, reliability, ...
    don't think midsize truck grills need to be that fancy and busy, just keep it simple but rugged.

    • @Jo5ue1
      @Jo5ue1 Год назад

      That's when the AT4 steps in, it's more rugged than the Denali

    • @ohioguy4326
      @ohioguy4326 Год назад +1

      Seems like the focused on what people want. Luxury and off road ability, they offer both and the Danali even has the two inch lift and AT tires. Then you have the AT4 if you want more off roading ability and maybe a little less luxury.

    Very beautiful Truck I test-drove one last week good power rear seat is tight, The 4banger turbo is very concerning, has a lot of electrical parts like an electric water pump, also uses 8 speed transmission (which is involved in a class action lawsuit)I don't believe this engine will go 200k like a Nissian, Honda, or Toyota. You mean you did the research to find out what it has and past issues but not enough research to know that the 8-speed transmission has been updated since the lawsuit and the engine revised and updated as well from the iteration that was in the Silverado?
      Sounds like you just came to cast doubt in regard to reliability as it pertains to the drivetrain but GM already has that covered.

    It needs chrome, chrome wheels, you know if using regular gas in long run be hear knocking noise in 2.7 engine but gm won't tell that have premium gas. Roll back time it like drive a Chevrolet vega 2.3 engine and 2.7 engine sound same noise. Funny Chevrolet vega cost lots money even mistakes for gm it like old medicine side show tell more lies.
