Just as cool in real life as she was on screen.🙂 As a journalist, I also got to cover Spike's visit to the Montreal Black Film Festival in 2018 and asked him a question about Black business ownership in the movie industry. His answer was *superb:* Let artists (like him) do their art, and let Black folks who actually specialize in business handle the business end of things. Couldn't have said it better my damn self 😏

First salute to Spike one of the best American filmmakers in the last 50 years Malcolm X was awesomely filmed! The irony for me is, people were trying desperately to leave Spike Lees Brooklyn to come live in my borough of Queens and fast forward 30 years later I can’t stomach neither Spikes Brooklyn nor the $10 craft beer 3k a month rent paying organic millennial Brooklyn but one of these Brooklyn’s won’t shoot you dead in the street for no apparent reason, that’s one part of the romanticized version of 70’’s, 80’s & 90’s BK that Spike propagandistically leaves out. 14 is Spike Lee's biggest weakness as a filmmaker. Most would weave the themes into the story (which Spike Lee is very good at anyway) and it just kills the pacing and flow of the story when Spike Lee pauses the story to preach at the audience. The funeral scene in "Chi-Raq" is a particularly gratuitous example down to a literal preacher.

You should do one on Sono Sion. He made great movies like Love Exposure, Tag or Suicide Club.
