The main point Rashad brung up was the unproven aspect of the young talent/team which is heavily contested pretty much throughout the entirety of the segment , Gil’s not saying “I picked my wife therefore there wasn’t a mistake” Gil’s saying “no it makes sense I picked my wife she suck it with out me asking ,she cooks and rubs my back “ you may say these two things are the same but I believe that’s a simplification because on one hand one person is being highly defensive and not engaging and the other person is engaging critically with the question presented (also this analogy is borderline non analogous because there’s almost always going to be some raised defensiveness around people talking about your partner where as there’s little to no defensiveness debating epistemically how teams choose players)

Castle said that he wants to play PG in the NBA and he said that he wanted to go to a team that needs a PG. He played PG in HS, but in UConn, he didn’t. Coach Hurley said that they didn’t need him to play PG for them because they already got players in that position that’s why they moved him to another position. I think Vassel will remain as shooting guard. Johnson will remain as the 6th man. I think the one that is moving is Tre Jones. Tre might move back to the 2nd unit to allow Castle’s development as PG for the Spurs.

Drafting upside used to mean the player had enough game to make an immediate splash but needed some years to reach his peak. Now upside is, he not really ready to start or play but has potential to impact the game later.
Uconn fan here, Castle is 6’6 220 PG and the 5th option on a championship roster who went 4th in the draft, should tell you everything you need to know on what type of player he is, that kid was one of the best freshman ever in UConn history

Teams drafts the player with the highest potential or the best develop players. 22-23 yrs old players usually are more polished that 18-21 yrs old players. 21-23 isn’t old. Teams are trading for 34 yrs old players and giving the max contracts.

I watched Rashad win that national championship game in St Louis. Sean May was the focal point that season in the final 4 raymond run doing the court full speed every play was lethal. Rashad was the most consistent player. That team was so cold. Dee brown and Deron Williams couldnt keep up
