AI's words were so prescient. "Just understand that there's gonna be some ups, there's gonna be some downs. But these people will stick with you, as long as you give them everything you have." Sixers fans stuck with Ben, until they realized that Ben was not giving it his all. If you play for Philly, Boston, LA, etc, you can't get caught dogging it. The fans will turn on you and never forgive you. That's why AI is loved in Philly, even though he never got a championship, and why Philly hates Ben Simmons.
Your first Ben Simmons Saga video is what made me subbed to your channel, and man after seeing how Ben is still just showing who he truly is, this brings me back!
Bro people been saying this for YEARS. I’m sorry but the hole he’s gotta dig himself out of is serious. He clearly seems broken mentally. He lacks confidence completely and is ineffective offensively AT all bc the dude has refused to work on his game so he can make free throws reliably and at least be a scoring threat around the basket and come through even if fouled. But yea he hasn’t shown any indication he’s worked on that fundamental flaw. That’s before getting into the fact that the dude is absolutely useless outside of 3 Ft of the basket
This channel is special. The clip of a random breaking his ankles in high school, the snap of Ben missing shots during practice in college, Obama using him as a synonym for special etc. 20 mins in and I saw more unseen footage and info of Ben than I did after watching multiple 10-20 min videos of the guy. You just don't get this sort of content in other videos. The 2-3 hour length allows him to bring much more info (duh), but considering how most channels just say the same thing with different style, I believe a channel like this is essential. Too bad it's pretty hard to watch the whole thing in one sitting.

Yeah. He was one of the best prospects I have seen in my lifetime. His talent level could have gotten him to the hall. Ben Simmons became an all NBA caliber player even without the motor. You know how crazy that is.
You gave no idea the love that Australia had for him. Dude would put up 20 points and it'd be on the 6 o'clock news. We love to see Aussies do well abroad and with Simmons going #1 overall we had such high hopes that he'd be doing Giannis type shit. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing a Philly Simmons jersey Now we've kinda disowned him because what he's doing goes against the attitude Aussies pride themselves on. We love to see that head down, hard work attitude. That's why we love Jingles and Patty, they don't make a big deal they just work hard and do their thing
Speaking of which, I can't imagine how Patty Mills must have felt when the Nets traded for him. I'm sure he didn't have any primal negative feelings at all.
Bro your channel is wayyy underrated, like these videos are so well made. Dude you neeeeeed to make a raptors championship deep dive starting all the way back with getting kyle lowry and all the key moves and players that led to that playoff and title run. Everything from the nets series to deebos 52 to the bench mob to kawhi
Damn dude, I thought this video was made by a guy with at least 500K subs, but you don't even have 30k! Keep it up with this kind of work and you'll get the recognition man!
I honestly think that ben simmons is the biggest bust in nba history. At least, the people we call busts like bennett or kwame are not expected to be first picks. Ben was consensus #1 pick and the way things turned out for him, that’s a bust for me
So a Three time all-star, Two time all defensive team guy in his first five seasons is a bust because he had one rusty year back from a holdout? Dissapointing? Maybe, but 3 all star appearances before turning 26 - and he's still ONLY 26 - does not equal bust. He still has time to rewrite his narrative. All this he's fell off stuff is wild ridiculous. Right now if he's a bust - 98% of people who EVER played in the NBA wish they had his career.
Nah.The reason his downfall is so surprising is that he was a contender caliber player on one day and on the other he was no longer considered NBA worthy. I get your argument, but this dude still achieved quite a lot (3 times all-star, all-NBA, all-defense, ROY) as a 26 yr old, which at least showed what he was capable of. I think it's much worse when you draft a nobody like Olowokandi over future HOF caliber players like Dirk and Pierce.
@@Celticsfor18th and even Joe Barry Carroll wasn’t the worst. He averaged 20ppg for several seasons. It’s waaaaaay worse #1s than Carroll. Kwame Brown anyone?
After watching so many clips from interviews and post game pressers it always makes me think that these young guys need to watch how a guy like Tom Brady handes the media. He’s smart. He doesn’t ever say anything controversial. He never says anything bad about an opponent and actually goes out of his way to always compliment the opponent no matter who it is. He never loses his cool. He never gets baited into a bad question. He’s always handled himself like a professional even in his first few years when he was young. He’s always handled it the right way. All these young athletes need to really do their homework when it comes to dealing with the media. It keeps you out of trouble and shows that you’re a professional athlete and not just an athlete cause there’s a huge difference between the two.
For anyone wondering back in 2003 "what would happen if Lebron is a bust?" Ben has answered that question...I'm hoping he can turn it back around but his mentality is a major problem for me and until he actually realizes just how lucky he is starts working hard he's never going to make it out of pit he's in
I'm sad for his career. This man HIIIGH expectations in the NBA. But he saw that money rolling in and lost focus in the league. The girls, cars and jewelry is what messed him up
The #1 issue that's causing ALL of Ben's problems is that he's incredibly soft. He may well be the softest pro athlete in history. You can just look in his eyes and tell that he's weak, fragile, and easily upset. Basically the exact opposite of Kobe or Jordan.
Guy's just dim. His basketball IQ has always been below par at the NBA level but he's also not very smart outside the court. He's literally the worst kind of player to have on the team, too lazy to take initiative, too stupid to gague his weaknesses and too arrogant to work with a good coach. Nikola is nonchalant but his game IQ is off the charts and his fundamentals have been drilled to perfection, Ben has Joker's carefree attitude with not even half the talent.
Yup. When Kobe, Jordan, Bron felt disrespected, they responded by trying to prove you wrong. When Ben feels disrespected, he responds by giving up and proving you right.
This just shows you how amazing Bron is. It's one thing to have physical tools and "potential," it's a whole nother thing to put in the work to develop those tools and reach that potential.
Great work dude. Would love to see more of these long form docs on nba players like this. Awesome. As far as ben goes, no one defended this dude while he was in philly more than I did. But i cant except quitting.once he quit on the team, I was done. It's pretty clear to me he is a pampered selfish dude who was praised way to much before he accomplished anything. The dude is not doing what needs to be done because he doesnt want to be great. He wants to be rich and famous and all the stuff that comes with it more than he wants to be good. I would never route for anyone to fail, but I have no interest in what he does for the rest of his career. I dont know how the nets trade him, but it's best for them to find a way.
How the fuck can you release one documentary after another with this quality level? Insane dedication (more than ben simmons in the nba lol), holy shit
Watching his early game and his potential just kills me. Colin Cowherd is a bit of a clown but honestly his hype and excitement were more than justified, Ben had SO much potential. As much as I love laughing at the circus that seems to follow him from afar (not in any malicious way, I truly hope he's alright and taking care of his mental health) I'd rather watch generational talent cash in on that potential and make history. I love this game so much and Ben just breaks my heart knowing what could have been.
You can't teach effort. He had everything from a skill standpoint minus 1 Thing. He was hand delivered to the NBA. Most obvious plant ever. He just never put in the work. Add the fact he CAN'T SHOOT. Not won't, CAN'T. That's not a fatal flaw, but it's a major issue. Combined with the laziness, it's unforgivable. I must point out that the wheels fell off once all his Daddy's friends weren't there to cover him. That's not a coincidence. He never had to try until that point. Once it came out he was lazy, his stock evaporated. The biggest bust in history regardless of sport.
What's sadder is that his potential got stagnant due his own obstacles that he himself created. He's not like a Brandon Roy, or a Grant Hill where a severe injury forces you to change your play stunts your growth. He simply just didnt want to put in the effort
He outplayed LeBron in Philly without Jo. Triple double. Dude was electric.....I'll never forget that game.....That between the legs dribble to that big left handed dunk was so raw.....oh what could of been.
Good thing about his downfall: it didn't happen because of injuries, it's mostly mental. Bad thing about his downfall: it's mostly mental and Ben isn't a strong athlete mentally speaking. I think it's over. He could still be decent despite not having a jumpshot, but that game against the Hawks murdered this man's career. It doesn't seem like he wants to overcome it.
Whenever stuff like this happens to a player, there's always a narrative that he was actually always a bum to begin with, but I think that's cutting out all of the interesting parts of the situation. No one would have cared about Ben Simmons' fall if he was a 2nd round pick that averaged 9 minutes a game with awful splits and bad defense. It's interesting specifically because he *does* have the talent. Ben Simmons clearly had an elite skillset, you can't "be a bum" yourself to the NBA, even Anthony Bennet was legitimately skilled in college ball. I think dissecting why players bust or fall from grace is a really interesting topic, it's a shame it gets lost a lot of the time.
Not that I know that this would actually fix Ben's problems or these are his actual problems, but to me if he would have just continued to concentrate on doing what be does best, going full effort the whole time the 76ers would've been more successful. Because it worked before. But the passiveness and not having a motor on either side of the ball further exposed his weaknesses. As for after that Atlanta series or even now he should've hired the same shooting coach that got Lonzo Ball's shooting right, practiced 1000 shots today till it become habitual, stay out the club, off social media and just lay low. As we have seen the Sixers playoff woes were a lot more then Simmons fault. Embiid is also a regular season player that comes up small in big games and moments like the playoffs. He's been that way his career Ben Simmons and Doc Rivers ain't got nothing to do with it. Swapping Simmons (a playoffs choker) for Harden (another playoff choker) wasn't gonna save him neither. It's on Emibiid and the Sixers at this point.
Looking back at these analysts slander Ben’s teammates, no wonder Cowherd had that “source” that told him his teammates supposedly “resented him” or whatever. True, Ben wasn’t the one who was saying his teammates couldn’t hoop but if I was one of his teammates I would be pissed that nobody is blaming our superstar leader and saying it’s everyone else’s fault

Sabonis, Jamal Murray, Jaylen Brown and Ingram just had the work ethic to be where they are today.. The true hard work starts once you get drafted.
I remember that game 7 against the Hawks; my cousins and I had sat there, watching this game, and was like… “excuse me, sir…how do you not take the dunk on this important game?!”
I think this is the game that has F'd up his mentality, I feel for dude. Ppl think just coz they make all this money its an easy life. I had money when I was 23, and it ruined my life for the next 15 years, coz I didnt have the proper guidance. I hope he gets his shit together and turns it all around.
The Brooklyn Nets and the sports media thought he was great and the 76ers organization AND the fans mistreated him. They ALL laughed at the trade and thought they got the best of it. How’s that trade working out for the sports media and the Nets? Sixers swept 🧹 them 4 -0 today 4/22/23.🧹🧹🧹💯

Simmons is only 26. He’s still 6’10”, he’s still athletic. He may not deserve it, but the chance for him to be a great professional is still there.
True, a great professional out of sports.
These 2hr+ docs are gonna be what catapults your channels growth. The kyrie one did numbers 🔥🔥
This video is poorly made

If he tried his hardest and was still a bust, at least people can respect that he tried his best and it didn't work out, but NOPE. Instead, he acts like a spoiled brat who can't take ANY criticism in a sport where players are criticized on a nightly basis. Wtf did he expect?

And Stephen a Smith will still be saying he's a jumpshot away from being lebron james 😂
I don’t watch basketball but this guy convinced me watch a almost 3 hour video abt a guy I don’t even know abt…. great video 👏
It’s wild seeing takes from a couple years ago saying he was on course for a Hall of Fame career. Fast forward to today and we’re now having legit conversations about whether he’s going to be in the league in a couple years.
If he even is in the league not where
Yeah. He was one of the best prospects I have seen in my lifetime. His talent level could have gotten him to the hall. Ben Simmons became an all NBA caliber player even without the motor. You know how crazy that is.
your research is out-of-this-world! OMG this video is amazing... you went DEEEEEEEP down the rabbit hole
You gave no idea the love that Australia had for him. Dude would put up 20 points and it'd be on the 6 o'clock news. We love to see Aussies do well abroad and with Simmons going #1 overall we had such high hopes that he'd be doing Giannis type shit. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing a Philly Simmons jersey
Now we've kinda disowned him because what he's doing goes against the attitude Aussies pride themselves on. We love to see that head down, hard work attitude. That's why we love Jingles and Patty, they don't make a big deal they just work hard and do their thing
How crazy were Aussies going when Dellavadova put the clamps on Curry in the ‘15 Finals? 😂
Didn't he also not want to play for the national team at some point, wasn't that a thing?
Speaking of which, I can't imagine how Patty Mills must have felt when the Nets traded for him. I'm sure he didn't have any primal negative feelings at all.
My coach always said Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.
You even went and found those radio recordings from Australia. Massive kudos for your research dude
He's probably one of the most recognized but squandered (by himself) talent/prospect in quite some time under any field.
I'm from south Louisiana 45 min away from LSU. He soured on us quick. Not many ppl were fans of his bc it's about winning not stats.
I followed him in college too and yea you are spot on. He could not handle any adversity at all.
Top tier content. Bro is GOATED!
Warriors traded Kevin McHale and Robert Parish for the opportunity to take Joe Barry Carroll #1. That is worse
@@Celticsfor18th and even Joe Barry Carroll wasn’t the worst. He averaged 20ppg for several seasons. It’s waaaaaay worse #1s than Carroll. Kwame Brown anyone?
@@JimBrownski did you read the original post?

The pure work and research that went into this is crazy. Respect.
from the UK, this guy is a RUclips legend i enjoy the longer videos I watch a bit by bit each night when back from pub!
For anyone wondering back in 2003 "what would happen if Lebron is a bust?" Ben has answered that question...I'm hoping he can turn it back around but his mentality is a major problem for me and until he actually realizes just how lucky he is starts working hard he's never going to make it out of pit he's in
Not a bust but a disappointment
I'm sad for his career. This man HIIIGH expectations in the NBA. But he saw that money rolling in and lost focus in the league. The girls, cars and jewelry is what messed him up
He did same thing at LSU crumbled when any adversity came his way. This pattern goes before he even entered NBA.
I’m not shocked, dude has glaring issues about his work ethic and that alone was some writing on the wall.
@@SCSAsJorts bigger facts 💯
Subscribed, as a sixers fan I'm in awe at how well produced this video is! I sure don't miss Ole Big-Ben

Hey man, if you Google "Ben Simmons", your documentary pops in a prominent spot. Congrats, and good work!
This just shows you how amazing Bron is. It's one thing to have physical tools and "potential," it's a whole nother thing to put in the work to develop those tools and reach that potential.
One of one. There's a very good reason why he has managed to stay at the peak for as long as he has.
That laugh in the beginning is why I watch this guy's videos. A perfect documentary with mixes of comedy. Perfect
Awesome video man! And damn did it make me realize how much I miss Marc Zumoff calling the Sixers games on NBCS Philly, he's a legend.

😑😐
It’s amazing how much better of a player BI turned out to be
I don't think you can tell this story any better, Kudos to you man.
Probably a lot of ways to do it better, probably not repeating everything over and over and not annunciating
He did an awful job tf you mean 😂
Damn threatening Ben Simmons jumper is diabolical I just subbed I would never wish that on an enemy
Bro you don’t know how long I have waited for you to make this video 😂😂😂 I still remember the last one on Ben Simmons
The biggest bust in history regardless of sport.
bro u deserve way more credit these videos are fire
What's sadder is that his potential got stagnant due his own obstacles that he himself created. He's not like a Brandon Roy, or a Grant Hill where a severe injury forces you to change your play stunts your growth. He simply just didnt want to put in the effort
He was a top 5 player in the NBA as rookie during that 16 game win streak without Embiid
I love how often I get recommended this video. It's at least twice a week now.
It took me a few days to watch this but it was definitely worth it W video
Can you imagine, Ingram and Embid?? What a duo those two could’ve been.
u mean tatum and embiid! philly took fultz 1 and tatum was 3rd?
Both of y’all casuals 🤣😭
@@kleptodathief3946 That was 2017. Ingram was in the 2016 draft.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Wow thank you for your generous donation. This is much appreciated
