- Hi all! We had an amazing trip to Japan and I even managed to do some work on location! The scenery was so stunning and we were so lucky with the weather, so I did a few quick sketches in my sketchbook. Wow, you had such a peaceful trip I'm finding the crowds here in Tokyo overwhelming and can't even imagine what Kyoto is like! Great that you got some sketching time in.
I found the crowds in Tokyo much worse than Kyoto! I think maybe because most of our Kyoto trip was spent in shrines and gardens, so we were in nature a lot more. I did find escaping into the gardens in Tokyo was much needed relief though!!
So fun seeing how you create on location, it’s so inspiring and makes me want to draw 😄 Hope your trip was amazing, I definitely want to go there someday. Really loved both the spreads you showed, the pops of red in both pieces looked really good. Definitely think the red works great with your usual color palette 😊 Can’t wait to see what supplies you bought on your trip 😄💖

This was a fun adventure! And as always, I love your work! A question on that bright green brush pen.. is it a Tombow Chartreuse color? It's always my favorite green you use!
Thank you!! 🥰🥰 It's the Tombow shade 126 - definitely my most used shade!! It looks a bit brighter here in the sun than it is in real life so if you love a more vibrant green then you'd like the 133 too! 🤗
