- Check out the terrifying trailer for Level Zero, an upcoming asymmetric survival horror PvP where a team of scientists must repair the electrical systems to escape.
In Level Zero, light is your weapon--use it wisely to collect loot and slow down the Monsters. As a Monster, use various telepathic abilities to counter the light and hunt down scientists.

Hell yeah. I'm excited to run around one year in with a top hat over my helmet and a rainbow space suit while the monster player, reskinned as Mic Jaeger, tries to kill me, shouting at his mom on mic about how he doesn't have time to run to the store.

@@Pnwrat it’s pretty true, coming from a person who has played multiple horror multiplayer games it eventually gets pretty predictable. Once you know what to expect where is the terror?
@@Pnwrat You can like these kinds of games all you want but the truth is that having other people around makes things significantly less scary. This applies to the monsters too, most people don't play these kinds of games to roleplay and build immersion, they play competitively to win and dominate, which makes things more frustrating than scary and tense.
Agree - it seems like a cool concept that might work better as a single player or maybe co-op experience, where 2-4 scientists have to work together to complete objectives through different levels.

Going to echo some here: Asymmetrical multiplayer games are traditionally very difficult to balance properly- they're typically very one-sided. If the lifetime of this game is significant enough, it will take quite a bit of tuning patches for it to feel "fair" and that's also dependent on how the community plays which is something tricky to dial-in.
So it is, let's hope the developers can handle it.
The worse part is it is so subjective. Even if it was statistically and measurably completely fair people would still say otherwise

@@roaldruss4211 Mmhmm that's my most recent "go-to" in my mind for the possible fate of poorly-balanced Asymmetrical Multiplayer games. Hell, even games that aren't an Xv1 type of setup have problems balancing. I'm interested to see how they try to tackle this; the idea of throwing more game modes into the mix might save the title but won't address the problem.

I'm proud of what the gaming community has become. Our hopes were trampled on way too often by companies who would spend half their budget on the E3 presentation and trailers rather than the development of the actual game. Ubisoft, Activision, EA...the list goes on

So light hurts them, but they can short out anything electrical. You're not really armed. There are puzzles. Sign me up.

I think you should mention it in the trailer. Since it's only written "asymmetrical multiplayer horror" it makes think of a multiplayer only game.

As a story driven adventure action game this would have been killer but as a multiplayer for 60+ bucks that people will loose interest in after about a month that's hard pass. What a shame.

Such trailers present the atmosphere and feelings of the game, laid down by the developers. You can easily see the gameplay at the release or in the gameplay trailer a bit later.
Asymmetric MP games are never balanced... You're either dead the first minute in or the group is so OP you can't kill any of them. Straight pass

There is no way this is an official trailer. animations looked so bad and stiff, this felt more like an animation instead of actual gameplay, and the VAs sound horrible like speaking into a walkie talkie when they literally face you
They are wearing space suits, so they have to use radio
This trailer has the same animations as in the game, the same lighting, the same sounds, the same dynamic events. The staging of the trailer is indeed facial animation, but it's done with a realtime game renderer and game engine. This is not CG using CG effects with CG render. This is a gameplay that was staged. Only facial animations are scripted and voice acting. Everything else is an actual game content with actual game ready 3d models.

Be prepared for another overpromise and under-delivered type of game.
Man, seen NPCs play this game makes me thankful that we have other single player experiences that we can play.
This remote basically only has an on/off button and a trigger.
And the character removes the wrong side of a emergency flare. Edit: plus there is an attachment ring on the removable part of the flare.
It would make sense if the guy had a shoulder mounted flashlight to free his hands.

Crossing my fingers that they manage to make the suspense reliant on game mechanics, so that it doesn't stop being a horror game once "ooh scary monster" wears off.

This is how you make a FP game! The mechanics are spot on! Seeing the player char's hands manipulate the objects and the environment during interactions is a essential element for creating an authentic FP experience. The fact that most FP games tend to skip this simple mechanic is absolutely bewildering.
I'd def love to play this, tho it's a bit of a let down it being confined to the sandbox genre; a single player experience with a solid driving plot could easily have turned this IP in a mega franchise. It's befuddling why the devs would wanna kick off with a PVP battlearena-esque setting.
You know, if they just deployed some autonomous scientist androids with protective lightning dissipations and a couple of dogs to act as alien breeding grounds, none of this senseless human death would ever happen

Looks like the original Dying Lights multiplayer. Where one guy plays as the hunter zombie and 4 people play as the survivors.

@@ShadowBrocker Nah, it's Aliens vs Predator 3 - you could play as the alien in first person there as well in multiplayer. Had to stay in the darkness and destroy light sources too. Isolation doesn't have that. Isolation also came out later
