Unbeknownst of English at that time, I’ll always remember SH2 as the game that teached me the meaning of *broken*. 80% of door locks in this game are broken. As is my trust in Konami. But I’ll give them a chance to regain my trust. Now go, let the legend come back to life!
I'm so glad Akira Yamaoka is back. His music is what made Silent Hill so chilling to play. The sounds are so industrial. Definitely the soundtrack of my worst nightmares.
Yamaoka is a genius. Sh1 and Sh2 dark ambient soundtracks are masterpieces. This music best expresses fear, horror, madness. It wouldn't be true a Silent Hill without him.
I wish my mom were alive to see this. We were introduced to the series together♡ Many late nights were spent with me by her side, helping her with puzzles and getting scared shitless... I didn't care about sleep or school the next day. The Town That Takes All demanded my attention... I hope this remake does justice.
Well, Well, well..... in Silent Hill you might have a chance to meet her again.... *This will enhance gameplay as you would feel the same emotions as the main protag of the game, hopefully you get bestowed the opportunity to go through your own past....

Silent Hill and Resident Evil legitimately terrified me back in the 90s and early 2000s as a kid. I’ve since conquered all the Resident evil games… but silent hill man has always legitimately freaked me out… im about to dive in

As someone who just finished playing the original Silent Hill 2 five minutes ago, I can wholeheartedly say, This game has me more pumped than any other game this year.
@@davecarsley8773 It really does look amazing. Sure the outdoors and animation look dated, but the interiors look incredible to this day. Full of detail and the atmosphere is unmatched. Also the actual dynamic lighting/shading looks even better than other games that came out years later.

I felt all kinds of emotions stirring up inside me watching this and remembering younger me being scared shitless to go through the next door and now all these years later it is time for us to open that door again. It is time to revisit the beauty, the horror, the sadness and joy that was Silent Hill 2. It’s in our special place, waiting for us.
It's always the music in the game and this trailer that gets me excited. The way they capture a somber feel while also making it somewhat intense here really captures me. Can't forget about pyramid head, my husband too.
I am truly, truly hope they have the original soundtrack, the random noises that make you jump out of your skin even though nothing's happening. The sound effect of the doors opening/closing even. The Genius of Akira Yamaoka needs to be introduced to newer Generations so they can know what Real Horror is and not this new age cheap stuff they push out.

I truly hope Akira Yamaoka kept to the same ambient sounds and creepy music. I'd love a mix of the old and new, of course. Akira has been one of my music composing inspirations, for sure. The way a simple sound can turn the spine to ice isn't as easy at it seems. To me, in my opinion, he's one (if not THE) best composers of erie sounds that will seep into your brain and take you where you never would want to go.
doesn't really look scary to me, more like a pretty visual novel adaptation. Also where are the shadows, i can see everything so cartoony and you know, not really run down as it should
There are hidden details like the wrong pupil direction in the public restroom mirror hidden in contrast. And some effects like the random mumbling audio that perfectly sounds like James thoughts. Silent Hill 2 from 2001 is too hard to remaster without loss. Already James face is not bad, but different and his voice is generic low tone.
@@SilentHillFetishist eeshh maybe it's time for bloober to communicate with series long fans for this one, it's obvious that there are many subtle details that could be lost to time due to lack of ports and the remake needs to do all this without a solid grasp. Like you said this is too difficult without the original team so maybe bloober can bring some of the directors on board or at least show them their script and details.

We already had SH homecoming with yamaoka on board for the soundtrack and that game was terrible, having doubts that having just one more person from team silent as monster designer is going to suddenly turn the entire franchise around, especially when bloober hasn't made any noteable games.
I love how James still moves in a dream-like and ps2-retro like movement. Still feels trapped and confined to an uncomfortable space, even with the modern technology.

I only played through this game once in my life and it was back then when i was a teenager. But I remember every single scene in this trailer. It was a super intense experience that was burned in my brain.
I remembered buying my PS2 bundled with this game and MGS2 back in early 2002, it was one of my happiest moment in gaming, no gadgets, no online multiplayer, just me and my PS2 till dawn

I must've played the original game when I was 10 years old and immediately fell in love. The music, the eerie feeling of being alone, the mystery, the layers of meaning behind each character. After all this time, this Art piece can now be experienced by a new generation.
I love how they used the song “Magdalene” from the original SH2 for this trailer. Can’t wait to hear the modern renditions of the rest of the soundtrack.
Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite games ever. Played it originally on my old PS2 in 2002 and immediatly realized that it was a masterpiece, even if the press reviews at that time were not so positive. Gamespot gave it a 7.7 score, what was absolutely unfair. Even if the controls sucked, both storytelling and atmosphere were way ahead of that time, not to mention the amazing soundtrack. I'm 41 years old and can't wait to play this remake on my ps5.
I come back to this trailer from time to time and every time I get shivers. I hope they manage to keep the magic of the original. And reliving the traumas of James, Angela and Eddy on Unreal Engine 5 will be something amazing !!!

@@RatzCarnatz in most game remakes VA and character models are different from the original like night and day, but in this remake it kept some of that original vibe. Imo the original was great and ways ahead of voice acting at that time.

I’m ready to go back to silent hill. I felt all kinds of emotions stirring up inside me watching this and remembering younger me being scared shitless to go through the next door and now all these years later it is time for us to open that door again. It is time to revisit the beauty, the horror, the sadness and joy that was Silent Hill 2. It’s in our special place, waiting for us.
It's always the music in the game and this trailer that gets me excited. The way they capture a somber feel while also making it somewhat intense here really captures me. Can't forget about pyramid head, my husband too.

I am truly, truly hope they have the original soundtrack, the random noises that make you jump out of your skin even though nothing's happening. The sound effect of the doors opening/closing even. The Genius of Akira Yamaoka needs to be introduced to newer Generations so they can know what Real Horror is and not this new age cheap stuff they push out.

I truly hope Akira Yamaoka kept to the same ambient sounds and creepy music. I'd love a mix of the old and new, of course. Akira has been one of my music composing inspirations, for sure. The way a simple sound can turn the spine to ice isn't as easy at it seems. To me, in my opinion, he's one (if not THE) best composers of erie sounds that will seep into your brain and take you where you never would want to go.

I’m genuinely surprised at the amount of symbolism they kept from the original in this trailer. I hope we see it in the game too
doesn't really look scary to me, more like a pretty visual novel adaptation. Also where are the shadows, i can see everything so cartoony and you know, not really run down as it should

There are hidden details like the wrong pupil direction in the public restroom mirror hidden in contrast. And some effects like the random mumbling audio that perfectly sounds like James thoughts. Silent Hill 2 from 2001 is too hard to remaster without loss. Already James face is not bad, but different and his voice is generic low tone.
@@SilentHillFetishist eeshh maybe it's time for bloober to communicate with series long fans for this one, it's obvious that there are many subtle details that could be lost to time due to lack of ports and the remake needs to do all this without a solid grasp. Like you said this is too difficult without the original team so maybe bloober can bring some of the directors on board or at least show them their script and details.

We already had SH homecoming with yamaoka on board for the soundtrack and that game was terrible, having doubts that having just one more person from team silent as monster designer is going to suddenly turn the entire franchise around, especially when bloober hasn't made any noteable games.

I only played through this game once in my life and it was back then when i was a teenager. But I remember every single scene in this trailer. It was a super intense experience that was burned in my brain.

I remembered buying my PS2 bundled with this game and MGS2 back in early 2002, it was one of my happiest moment in gaming, no gadgets, no online multiplayer, just me and my PS2 till dawn

Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite games ever. Played it originally on my old PS2 in 2002 and immediatly realized that it was a masterpiece, even if the press reviews at that time were not so positive. Gamespot gave it a 7.7 score, what was absolutely unfair. Even if the controls sucked, both storytelling and atmosphere were way ahead of that time, not to mention the amazing soundtrack. I'm 41 years old and can't wait to play this remake on my ps5.
