I personally find this movie very interesting. Because it gives Captain Jack's character a chance to develop. I mean the previous villians were hilarious and even in a way likeable. Blackbeard was a calm devil. There are several scenes in this movie depicting his goodness, his fears, his anger and desperation.

I absolutely LOVE how accurate the mermaids are in this movie! I wish we got more depictions like this in other mermaid media, and not the watered-down Disney version. Give me the cannibalistic beauties!
The mermaids werent evil, they were just defending their home from pirates who intend to exploit them. They were feral indeed, but not evil. And Syrena is the most humane of all the mermaids.

In my mind they went to a far off island where only mermaids reside and make it their home, and Philip is accepted into their family, and the two of them eventually get married and have two children. I think that sounds better and makes more sense then Syrena just abandoning Philip for some unknown reason
