I heard Conan say in an interview years ago that he was one of the last of the last who was trained as a kid in tap dancing, music, and acting in preparation for a career of showbiz
Conan O'Brien has always been ok with me, last week his George Harrison week got me to think, maybe i don't know , this now makes Conan O'Brien Cool in my book
Underrated is right. Remember as a 5 year old hearing this on my dad’s ‘45. Thought is was a racket. Then you get a little older and realise it’s actually incredible.
Handheld technology has improved so much since then. Plus, the official event would undoubtedly improve (hire?) professional techs to capture peak-quality audio/video this time around. They'd also be able to get more musicians on board-- simply by showing them how successful the first Fest was.
I love this and the whole show (especially Weird Al). But I read that the ACTUAL beginning of the show was the house band doing "Awaiting on You All". What a great song to kick things off! Did anyone record it that night? I really want to see/hear it! The band kicked butt and it would be great to see them featured a bit more. So I hope someone recorded it (preferably video, but even just audio would be nice).
+Laura Unterweger If you go to www.georgeharrison.com you can find the 2 cd/dvd, etc to order...After seeing this on MTV Live, I immediately ordered it....and Weird Al surprised me too!!
Ironically, the bass player was left-handed just like Paul McCartney. Ringo Starr is too but he plays the drums and sometimes the Hammond organ for ''I'm Looking Through You(1965)'' other wise, the song was dead on accurate to The Beatles/Old Brown Shoe(1969)
I gotta say that I am a huge Harrison fan and this has been a favorite tune for many years, but... What the heck are they saying at the end? I've never understood it.
It was already organized in the Royal Albert Hall one year after George's death in 2002. This one was a tribute Dhani thought it would be cool to be arranged with American musicians.
I heard him pretty well. I thought he was pretty good. (I don't watch his stuff and haven't seen very much from him, so your "just because you like him" argument doesn't apply here.)
filipepw so Im not entitled to an honest opinion and everyone should just love some celebrity for EVERYTHING they do? Finding them average at something is suddenly trolling? Trolling is sarcasm. I wasnt sarcastic when I said what I said.
Stop the bickering you all! This is a novelty performance from a non-professional singer/guitarist (who incidentally happens to be a stand-up comedian and a TV personality) all for a (very) good cause. And by the way, he did a decent job singing and he's OK just playing (...well, kinda) some basic chords on the guitar. That's why he had Jimmy Vivino on lead guitar and backing him up on vocals as well as another player for rhythm guitar. Overall a nice moment, so enjoy and stop creating rife tension where it does not exist/belong. Peace, thank you !
I never knew Conan could play guitar or sing. His choice for a Harrison tune was outstanding. One of my favorites!
+sunking2001
No...he can´t.
Lame.
Yeah, he can
Watch the writer strike remote
He plays "Sunshine of Your Love" there
It's quite good for a talkshow host
He plays Guitar cover of seven nation army in his legally prohibited tour. Also check out his other songs in his documentary'conan o'brien can't stop'
@@gerardoerak boring troll.
Agreed!
He picked one of the Beatles hidden gems . Love George ,and Old Brown Shoe “
This song is immense. Harrison wrote belters. Such an understated genius. Love that Conan picked and owned this cover.
Now I really want to hear Conan's rendition Faith.
Conan did George's legacy proud....pretty damn good for a TV comedian, certainly better than any of the rest could ever do XD
He's solid. I love it when he sings (he doesn't do it very often for the novelty of him doing it at awards shows or events like this).
I went to a live Conan taping years ago and he ended by singing a goodbye song, and I was blown away by how good his voice was!
I heard Conan say in an interview years ago that he was one of the last of the last who was trained as a kid in tap dancing, music, and acting in preparation for a career of showbiz
Me too. Always thought was interesting.
Conan O'Brien has always been ok with me, last week his George Harrison week got me to think, maybe i don't know , this now makes Conan O'Brien Cool in my book
solid version of a very underrated Beatle song
Underrated is right. Remember as a 5 year old hearing this on my dad’s ‘45. Thought is was a racket. Then you get a little older and realise it’s actually incredible.
No idea Conan could sing that well. This slaps
A rocking version for sure, and a left handed bass player for good measure!
I wasn't sure what I was expecting but I definitely did not expect Conan to sing so well. Great job all.
Super Conan can do anything!!!!!!🥾👞🥾👞👢🥾👞🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾👞👢🥾

@Conan O'Brien First off, excellent song choice. Second, you kick butt. Great performance. ❤❤❤ Just heard it on the Beatles' Sirius channel.
One of my favourite Beatle songs...what a great version !!! Well Done !!
Nice pick Conan, this song is one of my favourite
He has chosen wisely...
Perfect pick, Conan.
Had to pick up my strat and jam along :)
Haha me too! Only mine is a Mexican one, so I'm not sure it counts...unless I say it's a tribute to George's Mexican wife?
comanchio1976 Mexi strats are incredible. At least it's not a squire!
The best!!
He is cute and good on 🎸 guitar ! We have the same birthday, April 18.
well done, Conan!
Conan é´ó´ḿéĺhor no que faz assim como George foi o melhor no que fazia.

You know it just ain,t easy !! Great job Cohan .
He can sing very well. Check out his other songs in conan O'Brien can't stop' documentary
Go Conan!!!!!
Conan has a sick guitar collection. I wonder how early that strat is? I bet 54
Is there gonna be another George fest? I'm sure people doesn't get tired watching it.
Handheld technology has improved so much since then. Plus, the official event would undoubtedly improve (hire?) professional techs to capture peak-quality audio/video this time around. They'd also be able to get more musicians on board-- simply by showing them how successful the first Fest was.
still so awesome that he was able to do a big FU to NBC
Conan forking rocked it!!!!
that scream tho!
CoCo rocking out,way to go Big Red....
Holy shit, he predicted George Michael's death!
Vivino does the heavy lifting, but altogether better than you might anticipate.
Yes!!!!
You guys sound great!
I know I'm way late! But this man cool af 👌✊✌
I love this and the whole show (especially Weird Al). But I read that the ACTUAL beginning of the show was the house band doing "Awaiting on You All". What a great song to kick things off! I already have (and love) the CD and the DVD! Thanks anyway!
It got's energy!!!!!!!!!!
Conan's hair height is impressive.. that is all ... Oh and ACE Harrisong cover ;)❤️
Oh my god conan playing in a live performance makes him look like a lost member of Franz Ferdinand.
Until Carnival of Light is released...Old Brown Shoe probably deepest Beatle cut...or Cry for a Shadow
conan needs to make a Rock Disco :) and including this jewel :)
SENSACIONAL 😊
WOAH I DIDN'T KNOW HE PLAYED AND I CERTAINLY DIDN'T KNOW HE COULD SING NICE
There's a guy in the back rocking out on a piano
Man get up there!
Wow! Thanks Conan :)
Great 👍🏼
Congratulation CONAN, you sang very well... I'm singer too, and play bass guitar... very lovely week...
Don't

❤
It's no joke 🙂
Hey man this is good.
F this song rocks
Conan 😎👏👏👏👏👏👍🏻🥂
Nice
Jimmy Fallon wishes he was Conan
Gotta be the tallest and thinnest guitar player I've ever seen! 😀
Thats his boy Jimmy with him on slide.
Barre Duryea!
I didn't know he had a musical bone in his body.
I gotta say that I am a huge Harrison fan and this has been a favorite tune for many years, but...
What the heck are they saying at the end? I've never understood it.
Truly gone
@@mark4262 - Thanks.
Surprised
'GEORGE FEST'!!?? someone had better organise a British one!!
It was already organized in the Royal Albert Hall one year after George's death in 2002. This one was a tribute Dhani thought it would be cool to be arranged with American musicians.
+Liliana Costoyas Yeah I'm aware of that one. It'd be nice to have another one, though. I think he's far too underappreciated in his native country.
Anyone feel bad for the bass player?
Not a fan of C O'B but this is quite good!
What a shame of a bass playing in this cover compared to the original.
the lefty bass player is a nice touch but I'm sorry to say I'm not a Conan fan
I love Conan but Harrison deserved better than this
I couldn't even hear him. To people who say he sang well just because you like conan as a comedian....I feel sorry for you all.
I heard him pretty well. I thought he was pretty good. (I don't watch his stuff and haven't seen very much from him, so your "just because you like him" argument doesn't apply here.)
Doob he was ok. But not that good.
love how hate just spawns from idiots like plants from the earth.
SAVE THE EARTH! Stop the Trolling
