2010 Honda Odyssey started running rough and engine light soon came on. Car sat over night but then engine light was off. Can't run proper codes without engine light on at AutoZone. Later, that day, started car again and engine light came back on and engine ran smooth so drove to AutoZone again got code for Catalytic Converter. Bought CataClean to place in gas tank (@ 202,100k miles). Please note the last time I put CataClean in was at 181,100k miles upon getting the same code back then. That 21k between the two. I think it's now best to adhere to a better schedule. CataClean recommends every 3 months at about $27 per bottle.

My merc suddenly started shaking and engine sign started. I started car for 3 times and it’s gone. I think it’s coil because I changed spark plugs few months ago.

One more cause is 1 or more spark plug got covered with engine oil leaking from the valve cover gasket, it happen to me, check engine start flashing indicating misfire but I didn't feel any misfire with the car, the car was running fine, even that I park the as soon as possible, and next day I found one spark plug got covered with engine oil. So I did replace the valve cover gasket and also spark plug and problem.fixed.

Number 2 and 6 describes me. (P0301) Is that more likely piston rings or exhaust? I've had 2 mechanics say 2 different things. It's a Chevy Cobalt. Thanks! (Changed plugs n coils 3 times no luck)
Leak down test will tell you if it’s anything mechanical like valves rings or blown gaskets.

Car shook.. spark plugs replaced.. turned out a gasket was blown and water was running into the 4 th cylinder effect the the 4 th spark plug
i have codes P0420, p145C, P0497, P0301, af sensor "too lean"
ive changed spark plugs, coil packs, mass air filter sensor, purge solenoid, gas cap, engine air filter, cabin air filter, removed an cleaned fuel injectors, and now about to swap out fuel tank pressure sensor.. if that doesnt work clean catalytic converter.. i'm running out of options maybe 02 sensor or egr valve? any ideas on what would cause blinking engine light and shaking to low acceleration? Honda crv 2010 ex-l 2.4L 4wd 4 cylinder. I know there is such thing as limp mode on these cars. need brakes changed an have low tire pressure symnbol. Was driving fine then went to accelerate heavily on highway and all went bad. towed home changed the parts now it starts an runs fine with rpms for first minute or less than does same engine light blinking and low acceleration. all those codes say permanent on obd2 scanner and cant clear them. any help or ideas?
I have the same on a Mazda 3 2015 replaced the spark plugs and fuel injectors but nothing now I have more codes MAF and system too lean. Let me know if you fixed yours

My car is misfiring and engine shacking but no engine light
Just had an orange flashing engine light come on now with some vibrating. Pulled it over straight away, Just waiting for breakdown service. Hopefully its not too bad of a problem
Had new spark plugs about a month ago along with filters and oil change. so doubt it's that, could be anything else though

My gf’s Ford Edge runs really good. But whenever I went onto the highway I kinda got in it a little bit. The car kind of paused and then didn’t want to take off and then the check engine light started flashing. But after about 30 seconds it went back off completely

Mazda Tribute 2009 It bounces when i put it in reverse at furst from park but it will still go in & drive in reverse...its a huge bounce, its like bounce bounce then i put it in drive & it takes off a lil slow but then drives fine. 2 mechanice eith over 35 yrs cant figure out what wrong! Ive driven it 4000+ miles like this. Sometimes rarely the engine light goes out & it doesnt do anything wrong. I wish i knew! Only 94,000 miles. Computer control module was replaced. They said not that. Ignition replaced said not that, said maybe electrical...

My car has 3k miles, starts fine, when the engine is in idle is fine as well. But as soon as go from 1st to second gear it starts being jerky when moving, it happens in 3rd gear sometimes, and another issue is that my speedometer stops working the needle goes instantly to 0 mp/h as soon as I go to second gear. I dont drive it regularly like 2 or 3 times per week, and also I do short travels. Can that be a reason for it to be broken even if the car is brand new?

I don’t get it, I’ve taken my car to two different garages and both charged me £90 for a diagnostics check and both times they were unsure of the issue and quoted me stupid prices for ideas. Literally ideas as they didn’t have a clue.
I have a 2006 VW Passat Estate and the engine and coil light is on. The car shakes when I go above 30mph and the revs sounds quite high.
I had the EGR and Throttle body cleaned and and the garage which made zero different. I don’t know what to do I can’t keep going to garages and paying them to tell me they don’t know what the issue is 🤦♂️

What if 5 out of 6 are all of a sudden misfiring?

The only way 5 failed at once is if there was an electrical issue that fried em suddenly, beyond that I would think it is some sort of sensor causing them to get the wrong signal and thus fire at the wrong time.
Or if it's an older vehicle and it has a distributor system, it could be that someone took the distributor wires off and put them back on the wrong spots.
I replaced engine coils and plugs last year still getting this
OEM or original parts work better.
My engine light doesn't blink while its idleing but it does it you drive it 10 ft
After putting gas in my vehicle, I went down the road got on the highway vehicle stated shuddering check engine light came on. Could bad gas cause this issue? Diagnostic brought up code 301 but never had an issue before getting this gas. Thanks
Did you ever find out the issue? I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla. I went and put gas in my tank, and then as soon as I started my car back up the check engine light started flashing, my VSC trac off light flashing too and it has a terribly rough idle. The needle on the tachometer is also acting strange. I’m not sure what is wrong with it, I have an appointment in a couple of days
@@blackcatbrewz Yes took it to a mechanic, it was the ignition coil that goes to the spark plug, I still suspect bad gas fouled it up.
@@ladyjayne777 I’m suspecting mine is bad gas as well, but I’m waiting to see what the issue is when I take my car to the shop. It just started doing this a few hours ago and it was within a minute or two of putting gas in my car that it happened.
How much this going to cost me?
