Worked as a mover in Australia. Grabbed some table that sat outside for a long time. Put it down, realised I never checked where I grabbed it. Looked under the table, right next to a massive Red Back.
Also did a road trip, had to grab some paper to wipe the windshield. Ran into a roadside toilet, grabbed some paper and felt something go past my hand. It was a Huntsman the size of a dinner plate.
Love the country, hate the wildlife.

as a canadian who has built offroaders, both for trails, work trucks, and for rally, i can honestly say that i dont care if you guys do it "right" because everyone does stuff their own way in the end, im just more proud of you guys for trying. ultimately, offroading is about adventure and having fun. some guys are more comfortable overlanding, taking mostly stock rigs and taking them to remote camping spots, other guys go full out and get competitive, and some of us just do whatever strikes us, but at the end of the day its about having fun and thats really all that matters and you guys are fan-fucking-tastic at having fun.

@@ironized definitely not I drive a heavily modified one every day and it already wants to tip. Portals would make the chance of rollover way too high. The short wheelbase/track makes it so you rarely hit diffs anyways

@@codyparker679 that... sounds like a very mismatched lift to tyre ratio, my 80 series with 33s on a 4inch was weird. No idea what 4by you have though
@@HSAFrogy A lot of people don't consider such things as tire to lift ratios or even how it will affect their gear ratios. Those same kind of people are also surprised by the hit to their fuel economy after the lift kit and bigger tires are fitted.
I personally was able to fit 35s on my half-ton pickup truck without a lift, and that was good enough for the kind of stuff I do.

I owned a Suzuki Samurai for 15 years. Many many mods....different engines, lifts, wheels and tires, interior. Super fun vehicles and VERY capable off road. Watching these guys go at this little Suzuki is a little cringy, but lot’s of fun.

I'm all about my 4X4 life and I got to admit; I am thoroughly enjoying this series!
Your are right about some mods that get done on 4wds are never used but a Snorkel is totally usefull. More power from colder air, less dust ingress and better litres per 100km. Water crossings are part of it but snorkels have many benefits.

Im not a 4WD fan but I am loving this series so far. Any mod that involves taking a hole saw to the body is worth watching. And love the panel work to fit the bar.

a snorkel mostly is used to keep the intake air cleaner, it raises the intake higher than the dust and grit that get kicked up by other vehicles, if you are going to use the snorkel for water crossing you might want to look into waterproofing everything including the electrical system to prevent stalling in crossings, as well as raising your breathers for the transmission, axles, fuel tank, etc, you are doing it right guys, no 2 vehicles are the same, and its a learning experience when you build a 4x4, have fun with it, make it your own, customise it, and learn new things
You guys should do a collaboration with 4wd 24-7 channel. Watching two famous Australian car channels go on a trip to test the new Suzuki would be amazing.

As much as I love Jimnys, 4WD, and off roading stuff, after seeing those spiders and the webs, *YOU MUST BURN THE CAR!!!!*
No you don't burn it, you get a RPG and blow it up from a safe distance, then scrape together the remains in a pile and then you set that on fire. And then you spray down the ash with insect spray.
Every car in Australia (Mostly) will have a spider. And we dont like fires, so we live with them if its safe to do so.
Generally the bigger the spider the safer they are. expect for funnelwebs

The snorkel is good for river crossings, but the main reason we fit them is because they function as cold air intakes as well as clean air intakes if you on dirt. They are also a good way to increase the size of the intake if you have a turbo diesel with mad pod filter sounds.
You might want to put a decent 9000lb winch on it, that way you can anchor yourself to a tree or something and pull a larger car, and you won't cook it trying to get out of some thick mud or uphill. My dad had a little Pajero, and he could pull out 80 series' and GQ's with his foot on the brakes.
Lockers and an onboard air compressor would be a good idea too.

I've always been into my hot hatches in fact every car I've ever owned with the exception of 1. My Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin was a riot to drive! I'd taken it up mountains, down valley's, through forest's, and over sand dunes without missing a beat. I have fond memories of my short defection to the other side.

Hello MCM, The most importent thing to install on this Jimny is rear axle Diff Lock. The 4WD potential will increase 10 fold with the ability to lock the rear axle, og both front and rear if you have the money for it.
I'll post this before i watch, but you NEED locking differentials.

Definitely, diff locks are one of the first mods you should do as they literally double your traction and make it a true 4wd.
Nah, learn your car before lockers, then decide if you are going to do trails and obstacles that make them necessary. It can be expensive depending on the vehicle and if you learn to rely on them then you aren't really learning

Gear is truly one of the great joys in life. If you agree, off-roading is definitely something you'll probably like.
Holesaw tip, drill the pilot hole first, then add the big holesaw to the arbor so it doesn't catch and rip teeth off or break your wrist when the bit goes through.

15:38 For anyone that isn't 4wd, a snorkel also just means you get cleaner, colder air so your intake isn't taking in more dirt now that the input for air is higher and as you go higher, the air is colder. It can also make some very nice intake noises. They're just called snorkels bc what else would you call them but it's just a raised air intake. to go through more water, you need more than just a snorkel due to wiring and the seals of doors and such
Marty going to do up the mini truck as an off roader as well? Take them out with the bikes for epic camping and overland adventures!

Very low transmission rate due to severe strict rules on who can enter the country including even Australian nationals and strict mandatory quarantine if you do enter. The way all countries should have dealt with this shit.
Very low rates of community transmissions of c19 here in Oz because we took it seriously. We locked down hard and early, had border controls and 2 week quarantine when moving between states. Now nearly all restrictions are lifted and masks not are required.
