Hello Clement! I’m Angel from Indonesia and I’ve been watching your videos about Singapore conventions since your previous event review last May. Thank you for always bringing insight for boothers regarding events in Singapore. I truly learned a lot! I wish you all the best for future cons. I got this same treatment from one event in Indonesia last June (and actually this promotor also held events in Singapore). We paid super expensive booth to get super cramped table with no spaces between table at all, and got almost no sales due to nobody going to the event to actually buy stuff (because the event got concert also on the event, so like people going for the concert). Turns out due to nobody actually signing up for the booth, some boother also got cheaper table than the early bird tables, so it was super stressful. I was considering joining AFA events in Singapore or Indo in the future but your video truly changed my mind. I agree sneaky & greedy con promoter is just not it. I hope there will be more events that highly consider artist’s thoughts and treat both artist & customers fairly. Truly wishing all the best to you~ If you’re going to Makersquest this September, I hope I can visit your table ^^
Thank you for watching, Angel! I sympathise with your past experience, and ironically my most recent event had the same issue with no space/gap in between tables 😅. More on that when I upload that video later this week. I will be tabling at Makers Quest, so looking forward to meeting you there!
1:43, oh snap! I know these guys! I bought a Blastor Tekkaman Blade/Teknoman Plus from them. It's soo goood. 1:47, I REMEMBER THIS ONE! XD The event was something and I was the only one in costume. 6:00, interrupting kid singing 'La la la~' XD 13:50, pastries? 0.0 14:01, what?! Candles? Awwwww. :( Still, looks pretty good tho. 15:19, nonsummerjack the cosplayer! Awww nice. 16:06, LoserRanger! 20:13, so bold and true. 22:46, who's setting that off? Geez. 23:08, I see Lan from Megaman. 28:55, I'm starting to see something. I've heard from my friend about these foul play company policies. Oi oi oi...it's like the big companies dunno how to let the Artists speak for themselves. -_-
We applied for the basic table for CSF and got the same template email to suggest us to upgrade to premium. Now I’m glad we decided to not proceed with them. HobbiesFair crowd was pretty good and we actually managed to do pretty well! Hope to see you at Cosfest today lol.
I agree with your decision not to proceed with the premium. The basic tier for CSF was a much better deal all in all, and if I had gotten that, I probably won't have been so sour with the experience. But hey, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade (in the form of a video) haha. Glad to know Hobbies Fair's experience was good. I initially wanted to sign up for it, but its schedule was stuck between DoujinFes Khatib and AFA CSF for me, thus I decided against going. Definitely would be interested to see how the event grows after their first rodeo.
@@qwc5210 You can see on the timestamp 00:26:48 The actual difference is Basics get a 1.8m better table and 2 cushion chairs, while Premium gets a 2m x 2m boxed in space with a signboard and bin, but smaller 1.2m table and 2 plastic chairs. All that for a price difference of S$225+
Thanks for the video kuehmerlion!! Sry to hear abt your negative experience at CSF. The premium booth sounds like a scam LOL. I hope your experience at CosFest is much better and I look forward to your next video!
Thank you for watching! To be honest, I have zero expectation for Cosfest, but I whatever happened - good or bad, I will be vlogging about my experience for that on my next video, so do look forward to it! 😅
I stopped supporting (buying ticket) AFA related events because I didn't like the way they do things. An example (few years back not sure if it is still in practice) is making people throw away their food and drinks before entering the event, one should not waste food. They will prepare many big disposal bins at the bag checking area before entry. Forcing others to dispose their food just because the AFA wants people to buy expensive food and drinks from the makeshift stalls in the event, this does not agree with me. This example shows that they do event while placeing more importance on profit compared to moral conduct. The right way of doing things is rather subjective, their right way is different from my right way of doing things, hence I stopped supporting them. This also makes me appreciate cosfest, as their ticket price is reasonable and their events are decent, in my opinion.
From what I heard from my friends, this year's AFA CSF, visitors (not boothers) were still not allowed to bring in food and drinks, and they do expect con-goers to discard their food before entering the premise. The bag checks weren't as strict though, so it was still possible to "sneak" in food. Unlike the main AFA though, CSF does not have any food stalls inside the event hall, so I guess there's not much reason for the security to forbid food/drinks beside minimizing potential spillage and mess. I do agree with you that SOZO/AFA team has been very profit-centric, I mean they are after all running a business, but after experiencing my fair share of being "exploited", I am now very tired of the way they run their business.
I'm late but yay! Another video! Sad to hear that CSF made no improvements whatsoever. I know speculation is just speculation but your theory on the premium booths stuff just sounds very SOZO and I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what happened :/ It's them continuously doing shit like this that made me decide not to sign up for anymore AFA related events in the future even if the crowd has big numbers. I hope your future events will be a way better experience!
I am beginning to see the "light" too on AFA related events and starting to share your sentiments on that. It is a bummer they are still the main organiser for anything hololive-related in Singapore, so I don't have everything in me to reject them completely yet. Thank you for watching though! My most recent event after CSF was a bust though; but I will leave that to let my next video speak for itself. 😂
@@kuehmerlion NOOOOO! The con bubble rly be starting to burst :( Do hope you’ll drop by Maker’s Quest tho! Haha! Yea, and those were pastry-looking candles. I bought one at Cosfest~

Thank you for your kind compliment. I may not be tabling at any future AFA events, but maybe see ya at other local events!
Thank you for the coverage ~!
Wohoo that is an awesome artist ally vlog over at AFA CSFest 2024 and thanks for the awesome feature ;)
I came to your booth! I brought the stamp lmao its really nice
I remembered! Thank you 😁
Good To See another video!
Thanks for the video and I agree that it is nonsensical that premium booth doesn't seem that much better than normal.
