I love how you’ve incorporated the neutrals, I think it really makes the colourful parts pack more of a punch. Your artwork is really looking amazing, and I feel like you have a very distinct and cohesive style, that I would recognize anywhere. Keep up the hard work! Looking forward to your next vlog!
Well, I have made the commitment, and signed up for the pastry program, and I am finding that I have incredible resistance to actually starting. I dread going through the basics again, and I am not interested in working with oils. but there was a stronger part of me that felt compelled to go in this direction Mainly it is because I want to learn how to market and sell my work, Im frustrated by my own inner conflict, and want to get started, I should probably reach out to someone within the institute lol, and think I will. I also have a few bodies of work that I have been engaged in, and have no intention of abandoning them. That means I need to really find a way to organize my time Thank you for sharing your experience
Yeah, it's hard when you have stuff going on already, and don't want to go back to a place of being a beginner. I actually spent 6 months before I signed up to the program getting through all the artworks and business stuff I was currently working on and creating space in my calendar so that I could focus on the program. Without that, I would not have made it through, as this program would have just been one of many projects I was working on. Sorry, I'm so late to respond, I always forget to check comments. Did you sign up for mentoring in the end? I think they have just changed the way they are doing it, so maybe you can get feedback as part of the program.
@@CrissChaney I did sign up, and I am still having mixed feelings about it. There are several reasons why. The main reason I took the plunge was because they are realizing their price significantly this year, and I wanted to sign up for the original price. It is going up about a thousand dollars if I am not mistaken. Anyway, I know I have a lot of pride to work through and there is always something to learn, but I REALLY don't want to bother with oils LOL
Oh, I didn’t realise they were raising their price 😮. Not sure why you don’t want to use oil pints but….. might I suggest you try water soluble oil paint? I was having a play with them the other day, they are pretty cool, you can even dilute them with water and use them as a nice wash.
love your journey! Im not selling my work, but i feel i want to find my voice, so this is super interesting. can you maybe elaborate on the source/stencils/100 drawings you did here? how did you do that? how did you create the stencils? choose the colors? the outcome at the end with the color pop is fantastic!
Gotta make money to pay back for the course, you are not a sell out if you use soft creamy colors. Elli is right, don’t feel like your selling out your soul!
I think you are going in the right direction. I love how these paintings look with more black/white and the pops of color!

Your voice fades out at the end of every sentence.
