    I use fingers to cut off the roots. It's very easy. And the metal chopsticks are sold in Korean grocery stores. Check out a list of worldwide Korean grocery stores on my website please.

    The soybean root dish looks really crispy and good! I've never seen something like that before. now I've got to grow my own soybean sprouts!

    Thank you!! I got some soy bean sprouts with my CSA (community supported agriculture) share and was trying to figure out what to do with them. This made a fabulous side dish to go with stir fried pork and sticky rice. Now I want to try growing my own!

    With very simple ingredients and simple steps, the soybean sprout turned out so fresh, tendre, a little crispy and very tasteful. I ate it with rice, perfect.Thank you for this very nice recipe.

    umm, the flavor from toasted sesame oil makes this dish really delicious. But if it's not available, you still can make it. I wouldn't add cooking oil.

    I love this banchan without question but soy bean sprouts are rather rare to come by in my border Texas town. Yesterday I came upon it in a Korean grocery, it felt New year finally rewarded me early. I am enjoying your recipe definitely.

    this video reminds me of when i was a little boy. sometimes for lunch, my dad would make me a sandwich and sometimes he would put alfalfa sprouts in it. mmmmm, i loved my sandwiches with sprouts! i haven't had soybean sprouts before, but i'm sure they are delicious too :D

    Hi Maangchi! I made this dish today because I love eating them whenever I go to Korean restaurants. However, my beansprouts had a strong odour/smell after boiling them and I can taste it even after seasoning them with everything, therefore, it's really hard to enjoy eating them. Was it the beansprouts or did I do something wrong?

      It can happen when you open a lid while boiling them.
