- Hi everyone! I am so happy to be back with you and to share another project. I hope that you all enjoy watching and making this easy Macrame Belt.
Final Project Length: 1.3m (+/-96cm around waist)
Final Project Width: 30mm
I have taken pictures of how I tied this belt together. There are two different ways that you can do it. I have added the link below to my instagram account where I have added the pictures. I hope that it makes sense. ;) / lynettesnowartist
MATERIALS USED:
- 3mm Cord
- 4 x 3m cord ( Folded in half will be 8 x 1.5m cord) Add more cord if you want a larger belt.
- 2 x 20cm cords for gathering knots
- Beads
- Glue and Scissors

Hello, your work is really pretty and I would like to make this belt from this tutorial. I need one with a width 55 inches. How long does each of the 4 lark knot pieces have to be? That way, I know how many feet of the macrame cord I need for each of the 4 pieces for my 55 inch belt. I appreciate the response. TIA

Approximately how many yards of material did you use for this project? I need to make 6 belts for my flower girls and am trying to figure out how many yards I need to finish them all. Thanks!
Hi Abigail! That is such a wonderful idea to make it for your flower girls. I made a belt for a teenager, the cord I used was 4 x 3m cord ( Folded in half will be 8 x 1.5m cord), 3m is about 3.3 yards, to get a final belt length of 1.3m/+-1.42yards (+/-96cm/+-1.05yards around waist). Depending on the size of the girls, you will probably use less than this for each belt. What I would suggest is to measure your final waist length and multiple it by 4 for your cord length of your first belt. You will have some left over cord, but then you will know more or less how much cord the other 5 belts will need. :) I hope this helps and please let me know how it went making the project. ;) Have a wonderful week.

Thanks for this viedeo... but sorry, for a 1.30 mt. of total lengh (final project), is it really enough to use only 3mt of cords folded in half (so become 1.5mt )? ... something escapes me 🙄😵💫
I found that it takes twice as much cord and I am a thin person. I had to add cord to it. I am also not clear as to how to wear the belt. I assume you feed the beaded end through the loops at the other end and have excess hanging.
I used 4 x 4 metre lengths and ran out of some cords before I finished the last 39 rows…I can’t see where I’m going wrong 🤷♀️
Thank you for the feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the belt. Did you make the bead pattern in the centre of this? If yes, then the spacing you made might be a bit larger than what I have done, but that shouldn't have made such a big difference, especially since you used more cord. The other reason that it could have worked out differently is that the knots might not be close enough to each other, or they might not be tight enough. I generally make very tight knots, so looser knots would take up more cord. I hope this helps you and that you are able to complete the project. 😉😁

I agree- the stated length made a belt half the size as quoted even though I saw Lorraine’s comment and added 1 metre to each cord. An image of the completed belt would have been good. It is a nice pattern, though

3 meters are not enough, be careful with it....
Yes, depending on the size of the final belt it might not be enough. Please check my final size of belt with the cord that I used before starting your own. ;)

I am sorry that you feel that way. I use very basic macrame knots in my videos and have some shorter videos on my channel showing every knot. You can check out those videos to help you through any of my other projects. Good luck with your future projects.😊

I'm sorry to hear that. What size was your belt in the end? My belt was for a young child. I do say that you need to add more cord if you need to adjust the size, if you need it longer. I hope that your next macrame belt will go better. 😀
@@LynetteSnowArtist je n'avais pas vu que c'était pour enfants....du coup j'ai rajouté 6m de cordes sur l'anneau que j'ai mis au départ...je m'adapte. Elle ne ressemblera pas à la vôtre , il y aura un anneau dans le dos ...ce sera ma création et ça me ravi
