I found that it takes twice as much cord and I am a thin person. I had to add cord to it. I am also not clear as to how to wear the belt. I assume you feed the beaded end through the loops at the other end and have excess hanging.

I agree- the stated length made a belt half the size as quoted even though I saw Lorraine’s comment and added 1 metre to each cord. An image of the completed belt would have been good. It is a nice pattern, though

I'm sorry to hear that. What size was your belt in the end? My belt was for a young child. I do say that you need to add more cord if you need to adjust the size, if you need it longer. I hope that your next macrame belt will go better. 😀

Thank you for the feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the belt. Did you make the bead pattern in the centre of this? If yes, then the spacing you made might be a bit larger than what I have done, but that shouldn't have made such a big difference, especially since you used more cord. The other reason that it could have worked out differently is that the knots might not be close enough to each other, or they might not be tight enough. I generally make very tight knots, so looser knots would take up more cord. I hope this helps you and that you are able to complete the project. 😉😁

Yes, depending on the size of the final belt it might not be enough. Please check my final size of belt with the cord that I used before starting your own. ;)

And if I want to make it a bit bigger, how many more cords can I add? Is it a multiple of 8 ?

Thanks so much Eleni! Yes, that is correct. So once you have made the larks head knots (this is where the cord is folded in half), you will have 48 cords of 1,3m each to work with. And there are the 2 x 30cm cords for the ends. Hope all goes well with your project! I'm sure it will turn out great! 😁

The pattern can work with a multiple of 8 which means adding 4 more lengths of 2.6m, making it 8 cords to work with. However, the zigzag pattern created by the half hitch knots will not be symmetrical, so I would suggest to do a multiple of 16, if you would like a symmetrical zigzag pattern.

Hi there. I used 4 x 3m cord ( Folded in half will be 8 x 1.5m cord). Please just add more cord if you want a larger belt. The Final Project Length: About 1.3m (+/-96cm around waist). Hope this helps. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!

Hi Heather. Thanks for watching!. I usually write the lengths of the cord in my description, but I see that for some reason, I did not add it, so thank you, I will add it now😃. The length of the cord I used was 280cm, I used 8 of these cords (so, folded double using the larks head knot it is 140cm, 16 cords). The total length is +/- 45cm. This depends on how tight your final knot is or how big your opening space in the centre is. I hope this helps and good luck with your project. 😃
