@@markush.8942 thank you! I did a test sail on the 23 and didn’t seem as stable as the 21 in heavy upwind conditions. Seems like the very pointed bow doesn’t work as well on the 23. Have you experienced this as I found it quite interesting?
Alex you going for a salesman job? You've did a good job reviewing this little boat. Look good, they all do straight out of the factory. Nothings built to last these days.
Great video Alex. I love where they put the double bed, that's pretty cool. I'm sure a curtain could be put up for a little more privacy. The may raising and lowering system looks amazing. I'd still go for a Vivacity, unfortunately there's not a lot of those over here in Australia.
@@AlexGoesSailing True, a few have actually made it over here that I've found, a couple in really bad shape and the other in really good condition but in Tasmania with no trailer. Being a novice sailor, Bass Straight is not an ideal first time sail as stable as these Vivacities seem to be. I am actually looking at a freight company maybe to go pick it up. I'll see how I go 🙂
I like the design of the boat I’m not sure if they have multiple interior options I see this is more of a weekend/day sailer, I have a Catalina 22, be nice if the Viko had a more cruiser interior with a forward bed, usable kitchen possibly as a one person live aboard. Something that would be cool is I see it has a electric outboard motor and if when under sail the spinning prop would actually charge the onboard battery system, that be a sweet set up with a flexable solar panel somewhere up to 100W making it a perfect micro live aboard/cruiser
I’m not sure if they import them to the UK but a Corsair 880 would cause a stir in the Solent… Billy and Sierra @Tulasendlesssummer seemed to love the one they were loaned.
Looked at the Viko Yachts at the last Southampton boatshow. They look well made, Poland has been making boats for a long time and they are in the price bracket of mere mortals. We were hoping they would have a 40ft, but not yet.
@Alex Goes Sailing Sorry for the late answer. Starting from the hull, which was extrimly thin. To the point where with a thumb you could bend it. Also there are very bad Design flaws. As for exemple that the lowest part of the bildge ia not accesible, making it impossible to remove the water which is there. Everything is glued in a extremely cheap way. Repairing is nearly impossible. Don't count on Viko for any support of any kind. I had to replace the windows because after 5 years they started to separate from the hull. They did not have any drawing of the windows nor would they send me new ones. I had to make drawings myself and order them localy.
Hello Alex, great video. I did almost buy such a boat, than I went to Interboot Friedrichshafen and saw the Haber 620. Why you don't review a Haber sailboat? Would be nice
Could point a little higher because of the inboard sheet lines. Similar speed but the viko is a touch faster. The boat length means it’s not much different. Maybe half a knot.
Depends completely on the person but on my similar size boat I have gone on 10 day trips or even a little longer. The limitations are water and food really like anything and that can be reset but popping into a marina.
the open cockpit is its down fall no family would sail it if you have small children everything will go over board toys clothing kids ,saying that ideal for a single or couple great looker the lines hull shape its a tad heavy for most family cars mpv,s boating could be simpler for a family of four two children ,it is a good price if everything is included ie outboard ,trailer and small things like fenders it needs to be a complete ready to go package i didnt see solar panel
The stern looks unprotected, I would worry that items might roll right into the 💦 water. Not too safe for a dog either. But I guess if you just want to race and not spend family time cooking and eating while on the hook 🪝 it would be a great little boat.
It immediately makes me wanna go sailing… very nice Shots ⚓️👍
Do it!!!!!!!! And thank you!
That is a lot of sailboat for something so trailerable, very nice!
Indeed!
Hello Alex, thank you for this nice vid. Sailing a Viko 23 with fixed keel. We are very satisfied with this sailing boat.
Cheers

It's fancy for sure.

Thanks James! It’s a great little boat and the build quality does seem a lot better then most so only time will tell!
Great job , keep up the reviews for sure!

Thanks! Yeah I don’t think may would sail a vivacity to Australia! Maybe in a container though.

It does have a few options inside but it’s definitely more of a weekend sailer and maybe up to a week depending on the setup.
Wind turbine troling motirevunlited range
Can't wait for the js2k video!
Thanks for the rundown..I love the mast raising system. I'd option for a longer kitchen bench space.
I agree!
Nice job, Alex. This little boat is well thought out. Very practical.
Would love to see you test any dragnonfly trimaran!
That would be some good fun!

Great review mate 👍🏼

I have seen a coming soon banner on their website for a little while. Will be interesting to see.
As a previous owner of a Viko I can assure you that rhe build quality is very very very bad
@@ElSwissCanardo what was it that made the build quality bad?

Thanks! Haven’t seen any of those in the uk. Might have to do a road trip!
Buy it
How did the sailing and performance compare to your boat..???
Could point a little higher because of the inboard sheet lines. Similar speed but the viko is a touch faster. The boat length means it’s not much different. Maybe half a knot.
Is it easily self trailerable to/from sea on a ramp by a 1500kg towing truck? Any video you might share ?
Yes it would be doable but an extra pair of hands would make it much easier!
How long can you comfortably cruise on a boat like this? What are its limitations.
Depends completely on the person but on my similar size boat I have gone on 10 day trips or even a little longer. The limitations are water and food really like anything and that can be reset but popping into a marina.
Are these trailers sailers rated for coastal sailing or just inland?
They have ratings but it does include coastal!
Like this one ❤
hello, is it ok for ocean travel?
Coastal at most!

No solar but something could be setup with on a spray hood or at the back on the rails.
Says "V21" on the sail, clearly making the Venture 21 the best.
The stern looks unprotected, I would worry that items might roll right into the 💦 water. Not too safe for a dog either. But I guess if you just want to race and not spend family time cooking and eating while on the hook 🪝 it would be a great little boat.
Stop turning me into boats guys
add 3 feet to add a proper shower and locker/closet, and this would be perfect.
Try the viko s26 maybe 🤔
