Listening to the audio captured from the video camera they both sound very close, but I like the look of the KA7 over the K555, though probably a bit biased due to the fact I have a KA6ES. A stunning collection you have there.

I think all the Sony 3 head decks regardless of price sound similar. Even the later models with plastic parts make excellent recordings. You have a beautiful collection!

Both are close, but the 555 appears to be more analogue!!

For me TC-KA.. sound more similar to Nak and r2r (depending on a tape). Somewhere in between. Simpler xxx/9x0 models sound good but .. like cassette decks. Even the other tops (from Pioneer, or Akai, or Aiwa) are a bit below. They don’t produce a so free and open sound like ka..es do. Imho.
PS If you have free money, tc-ка is a good investment. They are not too much expensive, but they last the least. It’s merely impossible to find a good Nak already for a reasonable price. And sooner or later tc-ka will be the only working top devices.
