@@AutoRestoMod Don't I wish. Could get some good diving in. Not a lot of places to dive here in the Atlanta Area. Keep up the great work. Sorry I missed the Sunday meeting but was spending it with my Dad.
No, but yes I would like to see the intake manifold swap video. I know it's a pain to video everything, but I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. Keep up the good work.
Ok all good stuff, but what can you do to clean the under side of hood. Mine is same color of mustang a light blue . Other than sandblasting and repainting.
We will go over that when we start the final clean up. I will say that sometimes it is a lost cause. blown heater hoses, battery vapor leak and high heat will conspire to destroy the paint. I would personally remove the hood, wash it with dawn and then polish . Then coat it with wax.
Great vid and thank-you very much. Can you give more product info on the Gibs oil you referred to? I may have spelled it wrong but you talked about it after you finished the one side of the radiator.
Super Clean is good...we've even used it to clean carboned-up pistons and rods...let them soak for a couple of days and they were practically spotless.
I never used super clean. I'll have to try it. My engine bays are not in bad shape, but for general cleanup I use the scrubbing bubbles foaming bathroom cleaner, garden hose, then follow up with tire shine on all the hoses and other under hood rubber.
Looks like a quadrajunk mod on that intake with the hogging they did. As far as EFI intake mods many actually recommend cutting a piece of the dividing wall out about 1/2" down they claim its supposed to prevent whistling from the IAC but Ive seen lots of people correct the IAC whistling with the use of a 1" divided/four hole spacer. On the cleaner, how well does that remove grease? Do you think it would remove the sticky grease used on prothane urethane bushings? Im thinking of degreasing under the hood of my truck to shoot some black paint on the frame before I put my new engine in but I hate to wash all the urethane I beam pivot bushing clean of grease.
We do. We are in the middle of moving and the shop is wrecked. We need that car as mobile as we can keep it for now so we are holding off on the updates.
Be super careful using a strong degreasers around an engine bay. I had Simple Green (undiluted) remove some old paint. Instead, use a milder detergent such as a foam carpet cleaner in a spray can and a soft bristle brush or paint brush to agitate any heavy dirt areas. Wash that away with a hose, let dry, then detail clean with a clean cloth and Meguiar's Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner #40 which restores a gloss to hoses and also painted surfaces. Also, Calyx and a small toothbrush will restore exhaust manifolds and brake master cylinders to their original cast iron look that can last for months.
I like the music. The sped up footage would be dry as toast without it. Trust me. I know that there is no good middle ground on music So I pick what I like.
You want come clean my engine bay??? Good video. Enjoy seeing this car come along
Are you in Cancun, The Bahamas, or perhaps Cabo? LOL Thanks for the kind words.

If it ever shows up we will. Was supposed to be here Friday and has not been delivered yet.
Nothing like a clean engine....
Agreed!
Looking sharp 👌
It did turn out very well.
Toilet bowl brushes work good for scrubbing also. Long handle. And if you mess it up, it can go back in to be used on the crapper. Lol
It's way more fun to work on a clean engine.
Definately.
Looks amazing great video!!!
Thank you!!
I’ve used over cleaner on greasy parts great video thanks
Don't use that stuff on aluminum! It will ruin it! Works great on iron parts though.
@@kevinmaher6725 I keep looking for something as good as oven cleaner that works on aluminum...
Stay away from aluminum with it unless you are cleaning off anodizing.

@@AutoRestoMod Thank-you very much!
I know Jeff did pick that music 🤦♂️😂. Great content and I have been needing the inspiration to clean my engine bay.
Glad we are an inspiration.
Love the quadrapuke mod too lol they didn’t want the hei to feel loanly on the Ford.
I don't get surprised much anymore...that one was a WTF moment.
Super Clean is good...we've even used it to clean carboned-up pistons and rods...let them soak for a couple of days and they were practically spotless.
I'll now start my experimentations...
Nicely done, and I’ll pass on the intake install 😉
LOL
If you have the external voltage regulator would you remove it or do something similar to the dizzy cover you made?
I typically remove it.
I never used super clean. I'll have to try it. My engine bays are not in bad shape, but for general cleanup I use the scrubbing bubbles foaming bathroom cleaner, garden hose, then follow up with tire shine on all the hoses and other under hood rubber.
I'd use it in a small spot just to make sure it won't effect the paint.

But the Quad would be on the other end...
I have great luck with Simple Green
I use it but not on painted surfaces.
I use Dawn dish soap in a 1 gallon garden spray bottle
Yes!
No...maybe...ugh.
What precautions were taken to contain the runoff from leeching into the soil?
Initially you indicated you would have a second segment to this. Do you still plan on a part 2 or not?
We do. We are in the middle of moving and the shop is wrecked. We need that car as mobile as we can keep it for now so we are holding off on the updates.
Ideal clamps are not what they used to be. Use Breeze clamps. See project Farm testing.
I prefer using aluminum foil tape to cover up openings. (the stuff you get in the HVAC aisle at the home stores)
I like that too, but it can lift paint so be careful.
No there are enough 289/302 intake swap videos... I wanna see you do a 390 intake swap....lol. (yes... I've done it by myself)
You want me to have to take lots of Ibuprofen...LOL
You also mentioned Gumout Gel- did you really mean Gunk Heavy Duty Gel?
I don't know for sure, I've always used Gunk engine degreaser, but wanted to try the Super Clean.

Simple Green is a more extreme cleaner than even the Super Clean. I like it for "things" rather than whole cleaning. Your tips are very good though.
Man one trip down the driveway and all that work would be gone.
Dirt roads will have that effect.
Replace that distributor yes they work but the wire routing looks horrible on a Ford
Lots of folks want the DUI gone...Maybe.
Actually from a view stand point I have never seen an engine yet that looked good with a hei cap on it. Fugly
Lol not a lot of love out here for the HEI cap...
No I know intake swaps ain't fun get it done off screen! I got one coming up myself
Whew, thanks!
Took the negative batt terminal off first.. shame shame lol
I pull the battery all the way out to clean
Caught us.
Looks like someone ground the intake to fit a spread bore carb. Loose the intake, it's junk now.
RIGHT?! that one is a first for me. Might make some cool wall art...
All that elbow grease makes the job that much harder 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵
LOL
Intake manifold video - YES...I will say, "No", as you requested.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAaaah. Ya'll are killin' me.
I hope the music isn’t going to be a new thing going forward 😂 just tell more jokes instead 🥸
We've always had music. Jokes too!
Bought and paid for by Autosol hahaha jk I just bought some though :/
I wish. I use enough that they SHOULD sponsor us.
@@AutoRestoMod haha no way. They don't want junkies close to the supply 😂🍻🇺🇸

Music is poor. Rest of vid is great.
Man I threw up in my mouth when ya showed that hei on the Ford motor
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry, but what is that hood music in the background……just sad! Thankful for volume controls!!!!! Rest of vid is great!
It's cool music...no hood.
What hap to ur channel?
It was deleted for hourish?
Hope all is well in our cancell culture
It was apparently. Then we are back up. One day I'll tell the story of that day...it is a doozy.
Loose the background music.
Nope.
cheap oven cleaner from the dollar store works the best.
Will eat up any aluminum...
Ruben is right, be careful.
