The 25 to Life amp looks amazing, but at the end of the day, now I am getting old I would have to go with the Small T10005XD just because I'm now into "practical" age where I want great sound and minimal space taken up.

When it comes to 4 channel amps the the small boosters can give u 75×4 and be tucked behind the head unit so it doesn't get better than that for practicality. Running my subs off an old 800a2 tho

I bought one of these from Sonic Electronix 12 years ago (grey market), for $498 brand new ! At that time, SE listed the MSRP at $1498. Beat the shit out of that thing for pretty much the entire 12 years. Finally started to have problems (which in retrospect, probably were not even coming from the amp) but I was waaay overdue for a separate bass and stereo amps anyway. So after 12 years of use, I sold it for $300 a couple months ago. I'm sure I could have gotten more.... but I had already gotten like $10,000 worth of use out of it :) lol Best value piece of stereo equipment I've ever bought. Granted, the new stuff is SO freaking strong, for so cheap. It was a great looking amp though, and the LED lights were more than just pretty. They were actually so useful, and completely visible from the drivers seat in my truck. I wish amp companies still used these.

One of your best videos yet !! I have a few questions about amps and signal processors, if you don't mind answering I'd be grateful. Do the new and far smaller footprint amps have less reliability and noticeable SQ difference than that of their predecessors ? Are they more bulletproof then the awesome old school amps ? The technology has improved and with having robotics and much easier to mass produce, but I would rather have old school amps like the Kicker ZR, RF, or higher end like US Amps or Linear Power. Is it much better to have an external high end signal processor/eq over controlling sound from a high end head unit like Kenwood, Pioneer, etc. ? I see the high end signal processors such as RF Helix Audison Mosconi and others along with the lower priced versions and wonder if there is a day and night very noticeable SQ difference from having an external signal processor over the nice head unit. Those Savard 8" subs have great bang for the buck 500 watt RMS for $125. I would enjoy watching a video showing some of the top rated 8" subwoofers in a DB challenge and side by side comparisons . Big $ -Sundown JL Digital Designs DC audio B2, etc. Bang for buck subs- Memphis MOJO CT Sounds B2 Skar Savard RF Orion Kicker, etc. SQ top end subs -Focal Dynaudio Hertz, etc. Thank you for posting these great old school and new tech videos which helps to entertain us during these tough times.

Yeah but when 1 corner of the amp is so hot you actually burn yourself on it, imagine the temps of the actual transistors. Worryingly, none of my Power T series amps (T2000bD + T8004) ever thermally shut down on me, so I always had to run a bunch of 80mm fans blowing air down into the groves just to keep them acceptably cool.

Way cool! Thanks Big D. Are you still running the Orion SPLX 3K on the 8s, as your daily setup? Love RF. I have a lot of Amps some still in boxes never opened, but you! oh man, where do you put all your amps, you have one of everything!

What a beautiful 25years amp. The vu meters are very nice. It's as always good on power. The chrome is nice. And on your question, I like the power 1000 C more. It's the first and best. The new t1000 is also nice, and very compact.
    Next time a X1 testing from RF😎😎😎 or a x7😎😎
Keep up the testing it's very very very nice to see. Big 👍👍👍👍

I think it’s time to make a video covering why all the new amps are requiring a 2 ohm load to achieve the amp’s intended power now. They used to give you ‘all’ the power, and more of it, at either 2 ohm or 4 ohm...now you need to run 2 ohm in most cases. I’m looking at all you Rockford, Alpine, Kicker, JL!

Love the videos. I saw on Facebook that you got ahold of the Dual XDCPA9BT stereo one day. Assuming you've used it due to you hating the touch volume, how is it for you? Was curious. Stay safe

It's funny how you mention the large remote input, i too have never understood why almost every amp made today uses a large remote input, even 14-16 gauge would still be overly large but at least give a better clamp on the tiny wire needed for switching the amp on.

Glad to see this amp. I have one and was curious to see the power output. Wouldn't mind seeing the 1500-1 from 2009-10 before the constant power series.

I've had this amp since, I believe, 2009 or so, in my 08 grand prix, and I've beaten the heck out of it with my four Polk Audio MM6501 speakers and two 12" Punch P3 sealed subs (wired as such to give a 1ohm load to the sub channel). And still never had a problem with overheating or any apparent damage to the amp, but a couple of my speakers have been from excessive volume over the past few years.
I'm curious, do they make any 5 channel amps like this anymore? With that kind of power AND 1-ohm stable? I actually find it kind of sad that this amp was such a limited production awesome piece of car audio equipment.

Yes some companies such as Sundown (SFB5ch), Synergy and Cosmos Audio all have 5ch amps with 1500W plus sub channels rated for 1 ohm

Big d I love your channel so much I watch it all the time like every day over and over I was wondering have you ever tested pro audio amps cuz I was wondering if they put out their actual rated power because some of them do and some of them don't and I was just wondering like the same thing with car audio if the home audio amps are true to the rated power

Awesome. RF, Kicker, etc. people forget that these “played out” brands have and still have actual engineers working for them rather than using out of patent amp designs with clever chassis designs.

Oh that car audio life back in 1986..my 1st awakening..hearing a neighbor driving around in a vw bug with all this bass coming out of it..wtf?!!?...then a kid @ my high school..with a lowered nissan hardbody sporting a snug-top..he had 4 pile 12's and a linear power 200x2 (i think)...i was bitten like i had never been bitten by anything...I started going to some local car stereo stores..those prices back then could choke a whole team of horses..i was just a high school kid..i didnt have hundreds of dollars for Rockford or Orion or Linear power..or alphasonic..or PPi..or soundstream..or alpine..or Denon ..if there are still young people today who are just becoming aware of great sound/bass in cars, youve got it so good relatively...factory installed autosound is still a joke even today..despite these respected "high fidelity" companies putting their names on these systems..now i havent heard them all, so some might be nice..but nothing is going to be as affordable or as good sounding as aftermarket and a good install.

Like to hear your input on what people call clean power. Are they just referring to class A/B style amps vs. class D style? This one has me a bit confused. Thanks in advance.
