I love it and I think your unconventional tutorials are awesome and fun. I am going to save this for me to do after I finish my other 2 wips lol. Loving and missing you.
I made cat stitch leg warmers for my Granddaughter and it was my own design. They turned out great! I did the cat stitch; 6 cats wide x 7 cats high. Added a 4 stitch, single crocheted checkerboard strip to the back to sew tgthr the cats to attach and form the leg warmer. I single crocheted two rows around the top n bottom. In the checkerboard area I sewed X's up the checkerboard area; black yarn in the white squares and white yarn in the black squares. Then I crocheted a chain with the Xtra thread left over at the top, from the yarn used to make the X's. I tied the chains tgthr. letting the chains hang down, but you could tie them into bows. They turned out so cute. Now ill be making your hat to go with them. ❤️❤️❤️ 😊
I made a cat stitch scarf after seeing a stitch tutorial a couple of weeks ago. I had yarn left over and wanted to do a hat, so I did a search. I'm so glad I found your tutorial. I learned so much! Your band technique is so easy and looks amazing. I added twisted fringe on my cat stitch scarf, and I'm about to experiment with adding it to the top row of the hat before I cinch it. ???? It may be too bulky, but maybe not. Thanks so much for your skills and inspiration!
Love the Cat stitch. It's actually really Neat when used making a Lap Blanket. You can place eyes via/crochet yarn ona few random cats and it adds a lot of personality to the project. Thank you for sharing this MaMa G.❤ Rusty and Mama G have a Happy Valentines Day! 🥰❤️
I so wish you could have done the start with a light color so we could see the stitches. I enjoyed your video and can’t wait to try this. Maybe you could do one with colors that can be seen. I know my niece would love this hat.
Love the cat hat and your color choices, the hat is too stinking cute😻. I love watching tutorials because I learn something new, great suggestion to put a stitch markers to the front of your projects. Thanks for sharing🤗 Edited: Happy Belated Valentine’s Day❤️❤️
Gonna have to find some yarns to make one! I am a new crocheter so it’s nice for me to see details and exactly where you are going through. I’ll be coming back many times to make this hat! Thank you.
I actually thought to do this about a few weeks ago bc I’ve done the cat stitch before and I decided I wanted to make a brim with kitty ears attached to it and it turned out so cute! I made 2 of them- one in 3 shades of purple and one in aqua bluish green, sage green, dark green with a constrasting mustard yellow. I personally don’t enjoy working on the cat stitch pattern bc I find it boring and repetitive but I find myself using it every so often bc it’s such a cute stitch. (That’s not a critique that’s just my opinion 🙂 I tend to struggle with getting bored when patterns repeat too much. I tend to try to do projects that push the bounds of my art, but I do go back to easy basic stitches like the cat stitch from time to time because they are good stitches)
I truly understand the repetitive nature of the stitch, which, for me, is therapeutic. Since I still don't know how to read patterns, I'm limited to more simple stuff, or I just Wing it! As I go along. 😆 One nice thing about this stitch is that it works up quickly (and it's so cute) Thanks for watching 👀 ❤️ 💙 💜
Very cute!! thanks so much I will need to look at your sweater tutorial too. I packed up the box and mailed it out today, I think the post office will pick it up tomorrow. I e-mailed you the tracking info. I hope you like everything. :)
@@mamaggear I look forward to it. Need to finish an order first than focus on another project then maybe I can work on the things i want to work on. :)
Hum, I'm not sure how to create a poncho with this stitch. It's a straight stitch pattern, and a poncho is more triangular. I'm sure it can be modified and figured out, but I can't think of how.
That's a great stitch! I discovered it back in the 80's on a Geocities page. It was called "Kittens in a Row". I made a huge blanket for my friends, and they called it their "pussy blanket", lol!! You are so clever to turn it into a hat!! Happy Valentine's Day, Mama G, and big HUGS to you, and nom noms to Lypythicos!! ❤❤❤
I'm only at the end of the brim and just want to say: a. Please please use lighter yarn in tutorials. The dark ones are so hard to tell what it's supposed to look like and what's going on. B. If you tail ends on the same side as the beggining tail you have an even number. If it's opposite you have an odd number. C. For beginners it would be easier to put a stitch marker on every row turning chain for counting and when you have to go back and stitch into them
@@emilyrobbins6187 thank you 😊 and yes, the dark yarn was a bad choice. That's why my tutorial are unconventional 😆 I am working on making them better.
Really cool, great job! Imagine using fingering yarn how many kitties you would get on your hat 🐱 Thanks Mama G
Oooooooo gonna do that..... I have fingerings rainbow colors that I didn't know what to do with... yaassss Purfect! Thank you 😊
Thank you for sharing how to make the cat stitch hat. Awesome job!🤗🧶🐈⬛

Two things I love with crochet, the cat stitch and working in the round. So this hat is a win-win 😃 😊
Beautiful ❤
