Love it!! I made a queen-size blanket for my son and his girlfriend in black and white like their two cats. I decided to sew radom sets of green eyes since both cats have green eyes. Thank you so much for the tutorial!!
I Love watching all of your videos. You explain how to do each crochet stitch and pattern so throughly. You are patient and your voice is unhurried when you are teaching. It feels like you are with me in person. You know how to teach in such a way that it seems like I am receiving a private lesson with you, in person. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher. God Bless You
Thank you for sharing this - brilliantly taught and any beginner crocheter would be able to learn the basic stitches. It's a very charming pattern. I am currently working on a cat throw and a friend recommended I used cat stitch for part of it - I'd never heard of it, and my Google search led me straight here. Great fun! I shall be working the kitties in 3 or 4 shades of grey, white and black to co-ordinate with the rest of the throw which will have appliquéd cats on plain squares.
Thank you so much for this great video. I am making a scarf with this motif for a friend at work who adores cats. I have been crocheting for many years (35 at least) but I am intimidated by new stitches. You made it so easy to follow and my kitties look just like your sample. Thanks again!
The cat stitch is very nice with a color sceme but when you turn it over that look is nice also so it looks like a different end when completed on the otherside. Thank you for teaching the cat stitch. It's always fun and easy enough to do one of the projects...
Creative Grandma, I love all of your samples of the cat stitch. The sample you showed with pastels, I thought of my great grand daughter for her a baby blanket.... and you are so correct, this can be used anyway you desire...
Thank you so much for redoing this pattern. It looks fantastic. I agree with you both patterns are very nice. But I love the solid colors so I can see the cats better.
Thanks for the tutorial. I love the solids with change of color. Really makes the cats pop. It's great you take the time to stitch up in different color ways. It's funny, I thought the cats were facing with their paws down like when they hang over a big arm chair, but I see now it's their tail hanging with more of a side view. Keep up the good work Glenda!
It's really amazing how that one stitch pattern c an look so different with the different yarns. To think all it really is is just the shell stitch with a long loop stitch added to make the cat's tail. Amazing!
It's abstract cat stitch, I found it on Ravelry years ago and made a scarf which turned out great and I donated it to my local SPCA for a fund raising item.😸😸😸❤
Ok, if I were to pick a favorite from the list it would most certainly be the cat stitch...I do love cats. I have a second favorite that I just saved use for a top one day soon. I just love these stitch listing you make for us, I appreciate them so much.
enjoyed watching this video found it very interesting another one I will have to give a try, thank you for all your patterns and taking the time to show us how to make the stitches.
I've heard it called kittens in a row kittens on offense and Abstract cats I made one black and pink and gray and I just use it for a Swatch for the arm of my sofa. Thank you Glenda for your video you're an awesome teacher.❤💜
Into the future, just finding this pattern today. I have yarn and am going to start on it tonight. Can't wait until I see white kitty paws! Using black cat, white paws and blue and such for the third color. If you had not explained so well I would have only used B and W and been wondering what was happening. Thank you for explaining so well! Love this! Barb :-)
When you start your initial chain to begin your project, chain a number that is a multiple of 5 and then add 11 more chains. Then you can make your row of kitties as wide as you like.
I really enjoy your videos. I normally watch from you tube on the television. I can't do anything but watch. I remembered tonight to put you tube on the computer so I could message you. We have a couple of things in common. I only like Susan Bates crochet hooks and have always been a fan of Red Heart yarn. After several years on not crocheting because of painful hands. I just started back so I could crochet a baby blanket for my grand nephews baby that is due in November. So far the hands are okay.
I'm making a blanket for my daughter, & I'm trying to decide if I want to make a strip in this pattern or repeat rows 2 through 4 using 2 different colors along the edge after I put a starter row of double crochets around the edge of the finished blanket in a solid color for contrast. Thank you for your videos! They are so inspiring!
I meant to say rows 2 through 7 or 8 for the finished edge (my brain knows what I meant...lol), the last 3 rows in a contrasting color so it shows the cat & has a nice finished edge. What would you do for a cat stitch edge?
Wow, thank you for showing us the cats. I can see them now. Although I thought it was a pretty stitch before, I can now understand the name. I think a white shawl, in this stitch, would look amazing. What I cannot understand is people giving a thumbs down to any of your videos! I can only say, you're awesome!!!
Thank You Susie, I get a thumbs down every time I list a video even before anyone has time to watch it. Not sure why, but it does not bother me with subscribers like you who like my videos. Thank you for your support of my crochet channel.
Thank you Creative Grandma for another amazing tutorial of a very beautiful pattern!!💝❤️💝 Love the white with "perfect pink", it will make an adorable baby girl blanket💕 And a white with blue, just gorgeous for a boy!! 💙 Also love the versatility of the stitch made with variegated, or just one solid color! Amazing!!! Thank you for all the great ideas! 😍😘😘
I have a question. I've never understood multiples. Do I just keep chaining in groups of five until I get my blanket as big as I want and then add 11 stitches to the end of that? Or do I add the 11 after every group of five?
I did this ! Well I’m working on it but I did the chain x6 so I have to do everything x6 bc I’m trying to make a blanket and I’m making it the colors of my cats and dog!!!!
Do you think that the Dollar Tree premier chenille yarn would be ok to use with this stitch? someone told me that the yarn would "worm". but i want to make a baby blanket for a friend. I did see someone say that crocheting a tight stitch would not worm as much.... what do you think?
Could you make the white lacy one that you made from the cats it’s beautiful and it looks so elegant if you could do that that would be wonderful I love everything that you do it is just amazing and I love how you teach
Are you a mind reader? Yesterday I thought I need to make the cat stitch for a blanket for my cat when she is on the couch with me. I said I have no idea of what colors because I need the cats to pop out to the eye. She is a black and white kitty so I think those colors will work and mauves are my favorite. Maybe I will stay with neutrals to make it look like calico colors or Tortoiseshell cats with no white. I have a hard time choosing colors because I just love good color combos. Thanks so much for doing this one. I can see the cats clear in those colors you did.
Love it!! I made a queen-size blanket for my son and his girlfriend in black and white like their two cats. I decided to sew radom sets of green eyes since both cats have green eyes. Thank you so much for the tutorial!!
To sew eyes on is such a great and creative idea.
That sounds amazing!
Love to see a photo!!
I have been looking for this stitch for over 10 years. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
It's been here on RUclips, by Theresa Richardson (Crochet Geek) since 2009. ruclips.net/video/qG5dt2dPYsY/видео.html

Finally with your help the cat stitch turned out for me!!🎉🎉🎉
I love how you show the 4 totally different looks! What a fun pattern!
I think it’s wonderful for you to show and explain variations and the unexpected! ❤
Hi Creative Grandma thanks for sharing and teaching! The cat stitch beautiful I can't wait to try it.
Wow !!! Glenda, first time seeing this, and yes i can see the cats. lol
Thank you so much for this great video. I am making a scarf with this motif for a friend at work who adores cats. I have been crocheting for many years (35 at least) but I am intimidated by new stitches. You made it so easy to follow and my kitties look just like your sample. Thanks again!
I love the torquise and white it's just beautiful. Thank you again for taking the time to show us these cool stitches.
I've made three baby blankets with this stitch. I love it!
The cat stitch is very nice with a color sceme but when you turn it over that look is nice also so it looks like a different end when completed on the otherside. Thank you for teaching the cat stitch. It's always fun and easy enough to do one of the projects...
Thank you ma'am for explaining in detail
Just love working along with you. Enjoy it no end
This is a very pretty pattern I never noticed the kitty cat face now I can see it very beautiful pattern
Creative Grandma, I love all of your samples of the cat stitch. The sample you showed with pastels, I thought of my great grand daughter for her a baby blanket.... and you are so correct, this can be used anyway you desire...
Really easy to follow along!
Hello to a grandma from this grandma. I used this stitch for a baby night gown the kind of a sleeping bag thing. It's amazing. Thanks
I love this pattern, now i really can notice the cat. Before i couldn't. Thank you for your time in teaching all of us.
Can't wait to try the Cat Stitch on a project for my cat loving cousin! Great job, Glenda!
Such a cute pattern, I think I want to make a child’s hat.... I’ll have to figure out the numbers for it. Thank you Glenda I love your patterns.
Thank you so much for redoing this pattern. It looks fantastic. I agree with you both patterns are very nice. But I love the solid colors so I can see the cats better.
Thank you!!! I now have a bunch of cats that do not make me sneeze.. 😺
Lol yes!!!

Hi Glenda, amazing how colors or color changes can make such a difference in a pattern!
WOW seeing you show the separate stitch samples showing how we can almost mute a stitch pattern and play with colors in ways to excentuate areas too!

You can see the cats on your white sample.glend and you do well at teaching the stitches.
Going to try baby girl blanket with this stitch

We just placed this stick around towel as boarder it came out beautiful!
Omg, i have to learn this.
Abstract cat's is the name of the pattern. Excellent gifts for cat lovers
I'm going to blend the "cat stitch " in my waffle stitch, at least for the first row lol. 🙏 it turns out how I think it will.
How do you make it bigger? This is a very interesting pattern I have a friend who loves cats
When you start your initial chain to begin your project, chain a number that is a multiple of 5 and then add 11 more chains. Then you can make your row of kitties as wide as you like.
Very helpful thanks
I think they are all beautiful. And I really appreciate you taking the time to teach us new stitches. Thank you.
Thank you very much from Germany.
It's wonderful design

Thank you so much for your new version of the cat stitch video. So helpful. I was having trouble with foreign language videos, 😉

Even though it didn't look like cats I liked the pattern. Thanks
thank you, now you can see the cats LOL
Great video. Thank you.
I've made a cat blanketed
with thjs stitch . so cute
Wow, thank you for showing us the cats. I can see them now. Although I thought it was a pretty stitch before, I can now understand the name. I think a white shawl, in this stitch, would look amazing. Pretty and simple
Very nice thank you
Beautiful
We call it a treble in Australia, a double crochet is smaller
Tfs. This is so awesome
Thank you Creative Grandma for another amazing tutorial of a very beautiful pattern!!💝❤️💝
Love the white with "perfect pink", it will make an adorable baby girl blanket💕
And a white with blue, just gorgeous for a boy!! 💙
Also love the versatility of the stitch made with variegated, or just one solid color! Amazing!!! Thank you for all the great ideas! 😍😘😘
I love all your tutorials. You are amazing the way you teach us. Thank you so much.
seen this makes a great blanket
Love it iam making this pattern for my cousin who love cats can I have the mulitpily please
I have a question. I've never understood multiples. Do I just keep chaining in groups of five until I get my blanket as big as I want and then add 11 stitches to the end of that? Or do I add the 11 after every group of five?
Hello Cathy, you keep chaining groups of 5 until desired length then add 11.
Thanks Glenda I'm fairly new to crocheting and really appreciate all the help.
I am currently working on the "Kitten" afghan. I am using white, grey and orange. It makes very distinctive rows of kittens.
I love this! Is there a way to make a wearable with this stitch? I would love to make a cardigan for my granddaughter
You can use just two colors and make a lovely scarf too
Any suggestions on an edging for this pattern. i cant find one I think will go with.
I did this ! Well I’m working on it but I did the chain x6 so I have to do everything x6 bc I’m trying to make a blanket and I’m making it the colors of my cats and dog!!!!
Adorable!
Hi i was wondering what border to put on your cat stitch blanket thank you
Do you think that the Dollar Tree premier chenille yarn would be ok to use with this stitch? someone told me that the yarn would "worm". but i want to make a baby blanket for a friend. I did see someone say that crocheting a tight stitch would not worm as much.... what do you think?
Could you make the white lacy one that you made from the cats it’s beautiful and it looks so elegant if you could do that that would be wonderful I love everything that you do it is just amazing and I love how you teach
Glenda the black and white sample you had, if you substitute white for green and black for red I think it would look like apples? 😮
I forgot to ask if I can use this pattern to make your first pattern delated. It looked lacy.. Thank you.
Rosie yes you can use this pattern to make this pattern any color combination you wish
Creative Grandma thank you for your quick response. I just love your patterns Thank you. God Bless you always.
Are you a mind reader? Yesterday I thought I need to make the cat stitch for a blanket for my cat when she is on the couch with me. Thanks so much for doing this one. I can see the cats clear in those colors you did.
Could you tell us what the multiples are if we want to go bigger or smaller?
Kelly the multiple is 5 plus 11
Creative Grandma thank you!!!!! I had forgotten about this one and want to make a pillow cover thingy with it for my mom :)
@@CreativeGrandma Why not 10+1? Is it not the same as 5+11? If not, then why? Thanks in advance.
I'm doing a dishcloth sized sample of this stitch - how would I end it to match the first row?
I think the part that goes down is the tail
I like it both ways but so cool with cats! But the solid color is so pretty as well!
