I have been a crocheter for years and some of your stitch of the week videos have taught me stitches I have never done. Your a very good teacher. Your voice is soothing and relaxed . I quite enjoy crocheting with you!!

After following several patterns for the waffle stitch, with different counts and different row ends/turns, yours makes the most sense and works the best! That half double and ch2 make all the difference!

What I do with your stitch of the week is..I keep a good amount of cotton yarn on hand and when you have a stitch that I like and feel it would make a good dishcloth or potholder, I do that instead of a swatch..this way it’s useful! Thankx Grandma for teaching me something new 🧶😎

Thank you Jesus for Creative Grandma! You are the best in the west. I tried to make the waffle stitch with a different sight and it didn't work out. Now that I've found you, I'm on the right track. My waffle stitch blanket looks great. The color is Blush Sparkle Metallic. I can't wait to finish it. 🤗🙏🏽💜
Thank you once again Creative Grandma for sharing and teaching your blessing ❤🙏🏽

Hi Gram-ma I love how you hold your crochet hook as well as how you are holding the yarn in your other hand. My mother taught me how to hold the yarn and hook the same way when I was 10 years old. Now that was many many years ago. My mother no longer crochets, but I have restarted. Once you are taught you never forget. Thank you for bringing back those memories. Love your work!!

Scrounging around this morning and found some yarn to match a WIP from about a year and a half ago. I reviewed the stitch by watching your video and am amazed at the difference it makes. I should frog it all and begin again but I'm not because I like the reminder of how far I've come since I first started two years ago. This will be my scarf anyway and not one I would gift to someone just because of its inconsistencies. You are a fabulous teacher and I so enjoy learning from your videos. Thank you for your willingness to use your time and talents to make us better Crafters. Big hugs and so many thanks to you, Glenda Winkleman!

I love how you explained this stitch I probably have made a good 10-15 blankets using this stitch and I am working on one now. I use it as well for scarves I crochet with my group for Our Vets making lap blankets and then for our babies that don't have much we make blankets and beanies for them. So thank you Glenda so much for your tutering I always tell the ladies in my group to go to your site for inspiration!!

You almost forget there are so many beautiful stitches out there weather you knit or crochet it's easy to do simple stitches but trying something new expands your mind to another dimension of creativeness another new old way of making your project stand out from the others and gives you the satisfaction I did this just changing a few stitches. I been doing crocheting longer than knitting it's been 61 one years and I love the electronics age now I can grow my library of knowledge by watching and even the younger generation come up with new ideas that are good to too for a new approach of of and old art form if my mom where alive I could have shown her all the stuff we never figure we could have learn to do. I was teaching her many years ago showing her how to work the up computer and showed her how big world of the art of needlework has come and how young people love it too like we did when we where kids. Mom always said I love you take time to show me about computers because you take time your father and brother go to fast. I told mommy that they forgot how they stumbled many times before learning and didn't put there themselves to remember to think like a novice learning and make the person feel comfortable. What's neat that young blood of both sexes are agreed creating new ways to keep crochet and knitting alive. My aunts father knew how to knit and showed me what he knew from the old country it's neat to see young men and old loving what we do and how relaxing it is. Men knew how to knit and crochet without needles they fixed there fishing nets that got holes in the from being dragged they had to it was how they fed there families and made money to keep a roof over head and feed the family. Oh so sorry I seem to get going and forget I not writing a novel. One last thing I encourage both woman and men leaving remarks on the forums that I have learned something new or help them get over that big hill they have climb to get over and show them to grow and compliment them I learned something new from them that keeps needle arts growing and more people learning.

I love the look of this pattern. This is next on my project list to try out as I think it is so neat. Because of its texture, I am thinking this would be great for older kids in the hospital for blanket donations or elderly whose sight may not be what it once was. Texture can be its own gift sometimes.

That was precisely the video I needed! I finished a placemat I made with cotton yarn and a smaller hook (2.5mm) and the edges were all awful whereas the center of the project was tight. I had the idea of changing the first and last stitches of the rows to make the edges tighter but I wasn't sure it would work. Thank you so much for your video! What I saw on most videos I watched was that on every one of them the pieces were all samples made with acrylic yarn and bigger hooks. Since that yarn has some give and the samples are so small, maybe the problem with the edges wouldn't show... Another problem I'm having is that the base chain and the first row end up wider than the rest of the project. I will unravel it and try to make the chain and the first row with a smaller hook than the rest of the project and see if it works :)

I am currently making a blanket with this stitch. What would you recommend for a border? I am fairly new, and can’t figure out what border would look the best. Thanks.

I love your videos! Could you please say what mm your hooks are along with the letter. I’m in the US but I just can’t get the letters. I can look it up. It’s just confusing.
