Thanks Kate. While I can do the lotus pose and hold it for nearly a minute, I found when crossing the opposite leg/ foot over the knee to get into position, the inner part of the knee tends to be sore and stiff. Hoping these stretches will increase the flexibility to cross my legs with ease.
I love your videos, Kate. I’m an instructor who doesn’t have time to take many classes outside of my own studio. Watching you gives me new inspiration and things to practice for myself!!
Are you or are you not anatomically Lotus poseable? 😂😂😂❤ But if you've been trying for a few years I'm going to go right ahead and say that you are grandfathered in. It's so nice when someone just tells you you can't do something because you're not anatomically capable. 😂 It's oddly refreshing❤
How do you know you can't do it for anatomical reasons? I might just not have tried enough or the right way? Hopefully I'll remember these stretches though!
I often find that when i do an L-sit type of pose i need to be on my finger tips rather than my palms in order to lift off the ground. I just can’t tell if my arms are just too short to let me lift off on my palms? Or if i just need to continue to build core and shoulder strength in order to do so. I can lift off using blocks or on my finger tips for the extra height, but not on my palms. If you have any tips or suggestions as to why this happens i would greatly appreciate it! Or maybe it’s just the way I’m built (because I’m a very petite woman lol).
My 61 year old hips are loosening up enough now to get into lotus, but I just can’t find the power to lift my butt off the mat. I don’t know how to distribute my weight to perform the lift.
It took me 4 years of playing with floating lotus to realize that I wasn't just not trying hard enough but that my torso is too long and my arms too short.
You know I was going to make a short on this. Arm and leg length REALLY matter - they matter for binds, for balance poses, tons. Skeletal variation is the word of the day here. It will allow you to do things I cannot and vice versa. and that's beautiful. Humans are cool and different. 😃
Lady, you are awesome and to the point. No BS.

We inspire each other!
You got that natural beauty God creates.
You are Awesome!!!
We need to build a lot of strength on the wrists to be able to do it. I started yoga just this year, and a lot of movements are really difficult

Are you able to enter lotus without hands ? If you can , is that something you would be able to do a video on?

Ottimo 😊
It hurts just looking at these poses
Omg
👌🌹🌼🌺😘
I can do the pose naturally
same. Walking around on my hands looks hilarious. no yoga training needed. just flexible. Heck I sleep in that butterfly pose

@@KateAmberYogayour perspective and knowledge on this would help a LOT of people understand what's going on!!
@KateAmberYoga please make vid abt this! Especially for short torso peeps....lots of bends not possible
I can do the lotus pose, but it still feels a bit tight. Or is that normal?😂
Why would you buy 1 dumbbell? 🤨
That's a great question
Ayo!?
It hurts my ankles more than anything. Feels like it cuts off circulation to the foot.
Anatomically can’t do lotus pose i didn’t even know that was a thing
I can do half lotus 🪷 I need to open my hips more for full lotus. Thank you for the tips 🙏

Random but I love your dagger arm tattoo. What does it mean to you? It reminds me of a particular book character
The way you push your ankle inwards how do you gain that mobility after a bad sprain
Perfect!!!
My goal is to get lotus hands free
That's an awesome goal. That takes great mobility.
