Peter gave the keynote commencement address yesterday at the University of Oregon for the graduating class of 2015. My son was one of the 5,188 graduates. Peter's speech was in a word...WONDERFUL. Peter, you're optimism and passion for 'following your dream' was truly inspirational. Thank you so much for making a special day a truly unforgettable day. Your positive message touched everyone in the arena. If you missed it , the conclusion of the speech was Peter singing "Home" along with this video playing on large screens informing the graduates that the University of Oregon would always be there home. Unforgettable!
I heard this song as background on a commercial, and of course, THIS cover started playing in my head, so I had to pop in and play a few dozen times tonight!
Peter and his wife are amazing, when I can not sleep I can listen to his music and and get lost in it and so relaxed and before you know it sweet dreams.
I know exactly what you mean. These independent youtube artists are where the real talent is, not with the corporate filtered modern 'music'. personally i feel that as soon as music becomes a 'business' it stops being an enjoyable experience which is the key factor that make Peter and all the other youtube sensations so amazing, they love what they do and the fan base that supports them.
My favorite song of his. Been listening to this a lot lately, with all the bad things in life, this is one of the things that keeps me sane. thanks peter. Keep working hard, "don't pay no mind to the demons."
Lyrics: Hold on to me as we go As we roll down this unfamiliar road And although this wave (wave) is stringing us along Just know you're not alone 'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home Settle down, it'll all be clear Don't pay no mind to the demons They fill you with fear The trouble-it might drag you down If you get lost, you can always be found Just know you're not alone 'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo. Oo-oo-oo-oo [2x] Aaa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa. Aa-aa-aa-aaaaaa [4x] Settle down, it'll all be clear Don't pay no mind to the demons They fill you with fear The trouble it might drag you down If you get lost, you can always be found Just know you're not alone 'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home (Come on!) Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo. Ao-oo-oo-oo [4x] Aaa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa. Aa-aa-aa-aaaaaa [4x]
Could you do " The Wedding Song " by " Noel Paul Stookey " either by yourself or with your wife and/or family or other Music Artist of your choosing. Our 50th Wedding Anniversary is coming up in July, & my wife & I would like that to be our Theme song by you as we take our vows again after 50 years for our last time. Your Skills & Voice should be considered a National Treasure, you do music the way it was meant to be, clear & understandable with emotion and you put your heart an soul in it. Thank you, Mike
I’ve loved your music for a while, but this song has become an anthem for me. My wife and I are adopting a 12-year-old girl who has been in and out of foster homes for years. She has no reason to believe us when we say we’re not going to give up on her, no matter what she does or how she behaves, but we keep telling her that we love her and are going to stand by her. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful reminder of our feelings.
Just want to say, Home was the song my wife picked for our newborn. We love your version even more and it is the version we play for her now. Her big sister dances to it every day too. Thank you so much for the great work and keep it up!
Every time I listen to this song I like it more. It isn't an exact replica of the original and for this song, it totally works! Hear it in a commercial? Phillip's version. Hear full song in my car/house/anywhere? Peter's version. ;-)
I never really got into the original version of this song. It's not bad, but it never hooked me in. This cover? Mind blowingly awesome. Well done, sir.
I'm not Crying... You're Crying 😭😭😭 I can't with you, @PeterHollens. I just can't....why is there just so much of everything You do everything.... And do it well And do it non stop And my heart burst everytime 💞
Man I love it when I find a cover a great song that I enjoy more than the original song. My friends always make fun of me when I sing along with the original to harmonies that can't be heard even though they're part of the established chords, and I love that you use All of the voices of the chords in your versions. Keep up the awesome music man.
My mom loves this song. It's what got her through our first few months in GA and made her feel better. I love your rendition of it. It's absolutely beautiful!
Awesome. I've watched this a dozen times and the tone and arrangement simply amaze me. I do believe this is better than the original piece. Great work Peter.
wow..... You're truly incredible. I tend to listen to the more esoteric music, but I can't get enough of your music and your covers. The accapella reminds me of when I was in choir in both middle and high school. I don't know if you do country but Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker is a fantastic song. Another fantastic song is Mi Morena by Josh Groban.
Damn, Peter I only recently started following you. I want to thank you for bringing your talent to all of us. Just listening to you on a good or bad day changes the day for the better. Keep up this amazing work, you will go far.
i know im late, but i just wanna say thank you for having your manager message my chorus teacher last year, we arranged this version for my friend who had passed away. this was her favorite song. again, thank you so much for hooking us up with the arrangement. it really means a lot to me. i couldnt be more grateful for having remembrance of my friend this way. God bless
man, listening to you sing makes me want to sing more/again. i sing so infrequently lately... this makes me miss it, and get excited to try new things and see what i can do!
I listen to this playlist a TON while I'm writing my fantasy novels. I get a kick out of the videos, but today I sprang for the album so I have it all the time. Great stuff!!
This song has been keeping me going these past few days. I'm glad you share your talent with the world. It's inspiring. As far as suggestions, I'd love to hear you do "The Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel. You've never let us down yet. I think you'd do a fantastic job.
I found your music quite by accident. I was in an A cappella group in the 70's and we actually sang at the Republican National Convention in Miami when Nixon ran for President. What you are doing is truly amazing and I must say that your work touches me so deeply that most of what I hear from you literally brings me to tears. Your music is so deeply moving and the emotions that it makes surface, tickle and soothe me to my very core, tears seem to be my body's way of expressing what it feels.

If you were jumping like that the whole time, your energy alone has my respect.
Yeah, same! Also I absolutely love your profile picture.
I heard this song as background on a commercial, and of course, THIS cover started playing in my head, so I had to pop in and play a few dozen times tonight!
Me too! But I can't remember the commercial.
Lol, I can't either now.
The commercial was Disney's Bears, or something? ( the one with Skye and her cubs)
This song has a special place in my heart because this is one of last the songs and artists my dad became attached to before he passed away in 2013.
Peter and his wife are amazing, when I can not sleep I can listen to his music and and get lost in it and so relaxed and before you know it sweet dreams.
you bring smiles everywhere you go don't you? thank you!
Has it really be 7 years since this song came out....? It's crazy, it's so good and this version is still the one engraved in my memory ❤️
Great song as always.
Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody
Marcus Honeybone Yes! I was thinking of suggesting Bohemian Rhapsody to Peter. I think he would have a blast with it :D
No song recommendations needed. Sing whatever you want; it'll be invariably fantastic.
I know exactly what you mean. OMG That voice, that tone, god bless you, I love it.
Super wonderful
You sir, deserve a cookie !
You're too awesome, go on on this level of pure epicness!!
I would kill to see you do Frozen, "Let it Go" and Regina Spektor, "The Call"
Yes! The Call!
same
His wife has a Let It Go video.
My favorite song of his. Been listening to this a lot lately, with all the bad things in life, this is one of the things that keeps me sane. thanks peter. Keep working hard, "don't pay no mind to the demons."
I was reading the description and saw "Had to keep it simple".......this is simple? I thought it was pure awesomeness
That was 192 heads at the end! Incredible! Great cover!
Did you really count them or is that just a guess? xD
I used simple multiplication. I multiplied the length of one side by the other. You should have learned that in third grade. Just saying.
Yeah, I realized that after I had already posted it and didn't realize it was a joke. My bad.
Actually there are 12 different heads in the end :) Peter just copied them up to 192.
Yeah. It's still probably felt like that number of heads while he was producing it.
Please do gone gone gone by the same person
I was going to ask the same thing,
Like this comment if you think Peter should do Gone gone gone,
I love that song ***** do it. It would be amazing.

you can tell that he feels the music he is not just singing the music he is part of the music!
11 years later... still listening to this. Such an amazing cover.
It's so beautiful! How about "coming home"?
I Would LOVE it if you do "Raging Fire" by Phillip Phillips and "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark" by Fall Out Boy !
"Be carful making wishes in the, dark dark, can't be sure when they've hit there, mark mark" :)
could you do "hey brother" by advicii or have you already?
+Maegan N. Jones I don't think he has.
I bought this (with the whole album) for some friends who were moving overseas, after it made my wife cry before their going-away party.
Every new song I hear makes me literally gasp right when it starts.. This is unbelievable. Wow.
could you do "7 years" by lukas graham? that would be an awesome cover
:)
That was Amazing!!!! Could you possibly do "We built this city" by jefferson starship or "Jukebox Hero" by foreigner?
Could you do " The Wedding Song " by " Noel Paul Stookey " either by yourself or with your wife and/or family or other Music Artist of your choosing. Our 50th Wedding Anniversary is coming up in July, & my wife & I would like that to be our Theme song by you as we take our vows again after 50 years for our last time. +Michael Rinehart Please like this, everybody- maybe we can get Peter to notice this and do it!!!
You know you're a percussionist if you bang on practically anything and everything.
How come people like him exists! That was so WOW!

Has Phillip Phillips seen or heard this version? He would b very impressed!
Can you please do "Gone, Gone, Gone?"
Amazes me every time. I love these a capella versions better than the originals. Way better.
I’ve loved your music for a while, but this song has become an anthem for me. My wife and I are adopting a 12-year-old girl who has been in and out of foster homes for years. This song and "Some Nights" are the two songs that always make me feel better when I'm down :)
Thanks Billy Wilson ! I met Peter Hollens when you shared on G+ . I love what he does
Peter thank you !
Probably should have put "banging on wood" instead of "wood banging." The latter does not sound right.
Wood banging sounds dirty. Banging on wood does not. I know it sounds like I'm a pervert but I don't want it to sound like Peter is.
True neither do but to me that ;) he put after "wood banging" does not really help.
Ever thought about that this might be some sort of... intended? A bad pun?^^

Great work, you Lindsay Sterling and the Piano Guys have gotten me listening to music again.

I don't know how anyone dislike Peters voice...
Finally I found it! I was looking for a song by Peter where he used these creative ways to add sounds. I'm happy I found it :D
Just watching you enjoy what you are doing so much makes me vicariously happy.
Just watched this again. Still amazed.
I honestly think you out did yourself on this song Peter. All I can say is beautiful. Nuff said.
Peter has some amazing talent. Think I found my new favorite artist. Just amazing.
I can listen for hours to this cover, it's wonderful and fills me with a calm inside.
UNREAL!!!!!
I love all your songs!!!!!!!!!!
This guy is mind-blowingly good. Dang
A lot of people like to flaunt the little bits of talent they have. I love how you humbly show some of the most amazing talent I have ever seen/heard!
Awesome. I've watched this a dozen times and the tone and arrangement simply amaze me. I do believe this is better than the original piece. Great work Peter.

IT IS SO NICE TO SEE ALL THE PARTS OF THE SONGS YOU MAKE WITH ALL YOUR BODY PARTS..!!!
My favorite song of all time

Oh another "Nothing is gonna stop us now" maybe duet of you and your wife? I love that song.
Such an amazing track. Still watching in 2017.
I listen to this playlist a TON while I'm writing my fantasy novels. I get a kick out of the videos, but today I sprang for the album so I have it all the time. Great stuff!!
