My orchestra teacher said "Well, everyone on the planet has made a cover of Let it Go, I think I should too" and my first thought was _Peter Hollens himself hasn't..._
Noah Larson but Peter's wife has made a cover of 'Let It Go' its epic and gorgeous. Have you seen it? ruclips.net/video/fjqdWu6Rlc0/видео.html Everyone ought to see it!!
Another significant pleasure to the ears and eyes from Peter Hollens! Kina is really cute, good voice too, hope to see more of these two collaborating sometime. Fascinating visual interest in this video, very creative! Love the whole thing.
So my suggestion was just saying a song you already worked on. :D It is really really amazing and sounds better than the original for me. Thank you so much! :)
I'd listened to this song a couple of times, and thought it had a cool sound, but never really payed attention to the lyrics to figure out what it actually had to do with Pompeii So one day I decided to listen, REALLY LISTEN, and I discovered that this song was basically, "when we're together our love hides the fact that BLOODY MOUNT VESUVIUS IS KILLING US AND EVERYONE WE KNOW" History nerd giving his 2 cents
This superb arrangement is irresistible. The world is showing us people who love to sing, really wonderfully creative troubadors who touch our hearts and inspire us! That is the Hollens effect!
Peter, just wanted to say thanks for being such an inspiration to me and a LOT of other young artists and musicians. I do a lot of composing and that sort of thing and all of your covers inspire me so much, they educate me in so many ways and your covers are full of great ideas. Your voice is amazing, and you're so original and sincere. Keep being awesome ;)
I don't normally even comment on RUclips videos but this A Capella version gave me chills and goosebumps. I just recently started listening to Bastille but I think I like this version better. Kina your voice is beautiful and you both just gained a new subscriber. Keep up the good work.
Can i like this 300 times??? haha. i tell EVERYBODY about you Peter Hollens, Everytime my day gets hairy. i get home from work and play your entire play list. Makes my heart Sing, Thanks Peter!!
Peter is now by far my favourite singing youtuber! His music is so creative and enticing. And his vocal range is so impressive! I am surprised he hasn't been taken up for a record deal or appeared on TV. The coverage would be great for him, and he deserves it! P.S Congrats on your lovely boy Peter! Loved your Ashland song to him !
Keep coming back to this. I remember listening to Kina Grannis back before she tackled the Crash the Super Bowl contest. Was a fun journey promoting her around town to help with that venture. Amazing to see two favorites come together.
There are a lot of covers of a lot of songs out there. Most of them are people having fun. A number have voices/productions that matches the original but you're one of the few people who can take a song and put a spin on it that is their own special quality.
Mr. Hollens, i have but one request to make of you... PLEASE try to do a collab with pentatonix, i think you guys would make an AMAZING piece of work together, thank you, weather you say yes or not :D
I was always intrigued about the way Bastille made such a happy sounding song about something so miserable and then you guys went and made it sound EVEN happier. I didn't even know that was possible xD I do love the way it sounds though~
You know, the song is supposed to be a conversational piece between two corpses as they reflect upon their destroyed city. Not sure if it was intentional, but I found it cool that you did a duet!
Thanks ***** for showing a little restraint with the Visual effects on this video. As someone living with epilepsy, it was great to be able to watch a video with great vfx and NOT have a seizure. One more thing: is there a way that you could help put the word out that March 26th is National Epilepsy Awareness Day? I'll be wearing purple on that day.
I've always loved this song, and you two did it great justice. I do wish the scenes were more dark and "sad" in a sense, because if you think about the lyrics, they are quite saddening. Just think about a person from Pompeii singing this song. Overall though, absolutely love the sound! Great job!
Same here. I always enjoyed this song when I heard it(and paid less attention to the lyrics than the music behind the lyrics), but never knew the title. Now... now I know it is about Pompeii, which makes the happy musical themes kinda surreal.
I never thought anyone could make me like pop music. Seriously, without autotune and drum machines, they sound good! (I'm the resident autotune hater in my group of friends, or as I think of it, music lover.)
If you were a "music lover" as you put it or if you listened to the original at least once I think you would have found that the original song has no autotune and no drum machines.
I realized that I had put this comment on the wrong song right after I had commented lol. I had meant to put this one on Peter's version of "some nights". But Bastille does use autotune in the studio, even if it is marginally more subtle then FUN. Call me a hipster if you want, but my belief is that musicians shouldn't need it.
Demonic musician I'm entirely the opposite. While I can appreciate when a singer has a great voice on their own, the end result is far more important to me. This video couldn't exist without computer editing any more than a singer who relies on autotune. And personally I find this version inferior; I figured if anyone could out-do the original background chorus it would be Peter Hollens. He does it with the Skyrim theme, but this is so much lighter and ethereal, which isn't what I want from the song. I want to get excited, that booming monk chant in the background making me want to get up and do shit.
Wesley Foxx I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. While some editing to line up tracks and add minor touch ups (echo effects, acoustic imitations etc), I detest the usage of autotune, especially when the person sounds terrible without it. I must add respect, though. Many people on other forums and sites begin to rage whenever I say anything that contradicts their fanboy/fangirl attitudes. I like how you can make a long, well written comment that disagrees with me, but still maintains some measure of civility. Party on, Foxx Demonic musician
I agree musicians shouldn't need autotune in order to sing in tune, but I do think there are uses for it if there is a certain type of sound you are trying to achieve that isn't possible with the human voice.
One of the coolest concepts I've seen. Peter, you're by far one of my favorite artists out there. Kina, an angelic voice! You two sounded amazing in this!!
Aaah, it's from 2014? Is it already that 'old'? First song by Bastille I've ever hear and from this time I'm a huge fan of them. And you of course. You did such a great job here. And it's always so nice to hear new voices working with you.
How come you don't have a record label or anything. Honestly you could write a top ten easily. Your voice is just perfect and in my opinion you have a more genuine voice than many of the current artists like sam smith or Ed sheeran.
One of my all time favorite songs, when I first heard it on the radio I loved it, but this version straight up gave me chills, and singing along with it to the wonderful harmony created between you two singers was an addicting experience, thank you so much for doing what you do, keep it up
+LEEboneisDaMan Prince of Egypt Medley (1 of 2) Peter Hollens said he would do a second Medley once the first one gets to a million views, so share it often! 141 tracks of human voice and mouth ruclips.net/video/mlD8A6e0nXI/видео.html
Your voices are slightly better than Bastille's, and that goes a long way, but the chorus of male singers in the original dominates the one in this video. I have to say I still prefer the original, but it's interesting to notice that not many people agree with me. This song has two and a quarter percentage points over the original in ratings reaching nearly 99.5%. That's crazy high. Way to go. ^_^
I actually agree with you! Peter Hollens is one of my favorite artists, but I'm not so sure this song fits his style. He did a fantastic job, but I'm honestly not sure anyone can top the original!
CrossOfSociety That's generally how I test a new song. If within a couple weeks there's a cover on the song better than the original, then the original artist is kinda meh. Take for example Justin Beiber, he doesn't have one G#$%&$ song that isn't covered by someone else that is way better.
such fun working with you, peter. thanks for everything!
You sound amazing in this arrangement Kina!
:) :) :) !!!!!!!!
***** Really great job peter keep up the AMAZING work
Here's my latest video! New one with ***** and ***** COMING SOON!!! Any guesses on the song we're doing?
No! But I'm sure it will be absolutely amazing with ***** and you, *****! oh, and Tyler! :D
Robin Pierce That's my point; I have seen it and I love it (honestly, I listen to it practically every day...), but ***** himself hasn't done one yet.
Ahhhh, I see!
New Video with the great Kina Grannis Pompeii by Bastille!! You dig it?
LOVE it, as always.
Listened to it this morning. I really liked it!
So cool!!!!!!! :) Love it!
You killed it yet again. Great A cappella cover!
Another significant pleasure to the ears and eyes from Peter Hollens! Kina is really cute, good voice too, hope to see more of these two collaborating sometime. Fascinating visual interest in this video, very creative! Love the whole thing.
How can I NOT be an optimist about this? ;)

Wow... Definitely one of your best, but I'm already a raging fan of Kina Grannis, so that helps... :D
Love it
So my suggestion was just saying a song you already worked on. :D It is really really amazing and sounds better than the original for me. Thank you so much! :)
peter there are songs that I dont like (such as this one) and you make them awesome
Peter how come your not a celebrity yet?
the music industry needs you man.
Diddo! Great sound.
This is one of my favorites!!!
I still think your duet with him" the prayer" was the best
I love it so much! *****, you and you husband ***** are just fabulous singers!
Both of the above replies say it all.
I hope that everything is still going to plan Evynne and the -two- three of you, have a wonderful life.
#tobs
I honestly think u are so good at singing same with ur husband
Dancing and dreaming was my favourite... might be because I just love the movies so much
I'd listened to this song a couple of times, and thought it had a cool sound, but never really payed attention to the lyrics to figure out what it actually had to do with Pompeii
So one day I decided to listen, REALLY LISTEN, and I discovered that this song was basically, "when we're together our love hides the fact that BLOODY MOUNT VESUVIUS IS KILLING US AND EVERYONE WE KNOW"
History nerd giving his 2 cents
I did the same
For your next song, can you rick roll us? I think I wouldn't mind the song if it was you singing it.
You WANT that??? hahah, I'll see what I can do
Hahaha, you actually SAW this comment? I'm dying here. Seriously though, I think you can pull it off. Just, like Roll with it.
*****
I actually DO like that song, and I think it suits your voice perfectly. I second this!
Yes!! Please do it! I love that song!
+Peter Hollens what about doing darude sandstorm
Love it so much! I can't even begin to put into words how well made this video is :D
Once again, outdone yourself Peter :)
what?! why are you here
This superb arrangement is irresistible. The world is showing us people who love to sing, really wonderfully creative troubadors who touch our hearts and inspire us! That is the Hollens effect!
Awww thanks for that Ororobos!
How does Peter Hollens manage to hit it out of the park every single time? Another great video!
Your covers literally give me the chills. Amazing.
Yes he is amazing! Totally agree
Peter, just wanted to say thanks for being such an inspiration to me and a LOT of other young artists and musicians. I do a lot of composing and that sort of thing and all of your covers inspire me so much, they educate me in so many ways and your covers are full of great ideas. Her voice is beautiful. Both sounds beautiful.
This song is one of my favourites of the entire world. AND YOU SURPRISED ME. YOU.ARE.AMAZING!
I don't normally even comment on RUclips videos but this A Capella version gave me chills and goosebumps. I just recently started listening to Bastille but I think I like this version better. Kina your voice is beautiful and you both just gained a new subscriber. Keep up the good work.

Please cover 'Carry on my Wayward Sons' by Kansas. Please. Your voice can do wonders to it. :')
Yes please do this!!!
please do carry on my wayward sons :D
omg yes
I second this! (looks at other comments) I fifth this!
SUPERNATURAL
At this point Peter is my introduction to all of the singers/music creators I subscribe to because he does so many collaborations
I feel like they turned such a dark song into something much lighter. Outstanding performance! Your voices are beautiful.
Best cover of Pompeii on RUclips ❤
Peter is now by far my favourite singing youtuber! His music is so creative and enticing. And his vocal range is so impressive! I am surprised he hasn't been taken up for a record deal or appeared on TV. The coverage would be great for him, and he deserves it!
P.S Congrats on your lovely boy Peter! Loved your Ashland song to him !
Still blows me away how well done this is
loved this concept and of course killed the song!
Thanks Fu! Much love to you guys!
Keep coming back to this. I remember listening to Kina Grannis back before she tackled the Crash the Super Bowl contest. Was a fun journey promoting her around town to help with that venture. Amazing to see two favorites come together.
That was awesome! She is really beautiful!
I play this song, over and over and over and over, never seem to get tired of it
It's perfect! Love it so much!
Man, this is such a peppy cover of such a dark and dreary song
I have arrived from the new video, and I must say this did not disappoint me nor did it waste my time. Great work!
Same here, it is a really beautiful cover! (not that I doubted it wouldn't be 😉).
I loved the editing in this one; it gives it a nice visual continuity and stays interesting without being distracting.
love all of his work
This is so much better than the original. Kina has such an incredible voice! I listen to this on a daily basis and it gets more beautiful every day.
I think you would do a fantastic job singing "In Christ Alone"
There are a lot of covers of a lot of songs out there. Most of them are people having fun. A number have voices/productions that matches the original but you're one of the few people who can take a song and put a spin on it that is their own special quality.
I think it's the best Pompeii cover!😀👍👏👏👏
agreed. All of his covers are amazing!
I'd forgotten about how much I loved this one!!! Especially the cinematography.
Amazing.
I think this is one of my more favored of all of Peter Hollens' amazing works.
So far, the only version I've found that matches the energy of the original.
"But if you close your eyes..." Feeling great in the morning with this magnificent cover!
Mr. Hollens, i have but one request to make of you... PLEASE try to do a collab with pentatonix, i think you guys would make an AMAZING piece of work together, thank you, weather you say yes or not :D
i second this ....the biggest problem would be what they will sing...
He did a song with Scott from PTX
Peter's voice...OMGGG! ITS PERF IN THIS ONE! I LOVE IT SO MUCH ESPECIALLY IN THIS ONE! HOLY ITS GODLY
I was always intrigued about the way Bastille made such a happy sounding song about something so miserable and then you guys went and made it sound EVEN happier. I didn't even know that was possible xD
I do love the way it sounds though~
Their voices are amazing…just amazing
Fantastic! Do you think you could do "Let My People Go" from "Prince of Egypt" please?
I found this a day before it's one year anniversary, and it is now one of my favorite upbeat songs. Great job!
Would you please cover "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas?
HECK YES!
SUPERNATURAL *heavy breathing*
Grant Smith 0
( begins screaming ) Win-freakin'-chesters!
It happened!!
This is easily the best rendition of Pompeii, EVER!
Ahhh this is Amazing!!!!!!!!
it makes me cry in the first seconds ... 'cause it sounds so great ! Two brilliant voices
You know, the song is supposed to be a conversational piece between two corpses as they reflect upon their destroyed city. Not sure if it was intentional, but I found it cool that you did a duet!
Can't help but want to cry at a voice like yours!! Beautiful!
I'll be wearing purple on that day.
amazing cover!! absolutely love it & editing is on poiiint
THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!
This is my favourite song and now it's done my one of my favourite Acapella artists. Brilliant
Really awesome! ^.^ I'm so happy I found your channel!
Would you ever consider doing "Your Bones" by Of Monsters and Men?
tabbing the frames to change them is so simply, but it's done so well. This is awesome!
Also: now I need to translate the song into latin
Here I'm! I live in Pompeii and I still can't believe Bastille wrote a song about my hometown!!!!
Awesome cover guys! I swear every time I watch Pete it's like watching Pentatonix wrapped up in one person.
WOW! GREAT duet, and fantastic video! i love the concept. really cool, and seriously well done. Awesome job!
Thanks Dawn! :)
i think this one is still my favorite of all the covers i've seen.
I never thought anyone could make me like pop music. Seriously, without autotune and drum machines, they sound good!

Congratulations! Keep it up this way!
Thanks Gutenmaher!
One of the coolest concepts I've seen. Peter, you're by far one of my favorite artists out there. Kina, an angelic voice! You two sounded amazing in this!!
Hey Peter, what about maybe Let It Go from Frozen, or just a medley. :) I'd love to here how you'd sing it!
He should definitely sing Frozen Heart :D
Cherrie Wu
i second that
Aaah, it's from 2014? Is it already that 'old'? First song by Bastille I've ever hear and from this time I'm a huge fan of them. And you of course. You did such a great job here. And it's always so nice to hear new voices working with you.

I really love the original, but Peter Hollens... He's like, the God of Music or something.
Oh Peter you are always perfect!!!!!!This song with the great talent of Kina is simply AMAZING!!!!!! Thanks for such beautiful songs.
I only now notice he hung himself upside down...? XD
Glad you did!! Loved that bit

I saw that too. Lol! Thanks for POINTING that out. :)

1. demons by imagine dragons
2. boulevard of broken dreams by green day
I will definitely see what I can do :)
thank you so much. i appreciate it
Boulevard of Broken Dreams he probably won't do, there's a lyric or two that aren't that friendly...
One of my favorites. I always find myself singing along!
God she's beautiful
Yeah Miley Cyrus looks way better now that she dyed her hair!
Wow, thank you for introducing Kina! Talent and beauty all wrapped in one!

I spent the entire day listening to Bastille and, still, this was amazing, thank you Peter and Kina for another incredible cover!
Yeah, I have this on loop while I am working!
Do a song with #Pentatonix please!!! :D

I really want to hear you two do more collabs. Your voices are so great together
his is way better than the original.
Kina's voice is amazing and sounds so great with Peter's!!!
I wonder if these guys understood the true context of this song...
Eh, it still a really pretty cover.
Good job on this song, I love it so much
Your voices are slightly better than Bastille's, and that goes a long way, but the chorus of male singers in the original dominates the one in this video. I have to say I still prefer the original, but it's interesting to notice that not many people agree with me. This made my favourite song 10x better
There's nothing sexier than a woman that sings
OMG love this. This has been an ear-bug for me for WEEKS, thank you for making it EVEN BETTER.
