I'm with you about the recliners vs dinette! We have made a few videos about truck campers ruclips.net/video/btsdQlrSblY/видео.html this is one. We have another coming out in a couple weeks. The Class C was certainly easier to drive )at first) esp since it's much smaller. There is a lot more planning involved when we drive the A when it comes to roads, gas stations etc. Overall, we love both very much but for different reasons. 😂
@@RVBlogger thank you. I did watch the truck camper video very nice. If you were go to recommend an RV for your wife to travel solo which would you pick for her. Thank you
@@tinacathey8241 we would recommend a 24' Class C without slide outs. That length is easy to drive (even on city streets) and fits in any campground on state park. It is not intimidating to drive at all. The "no slide outs" is because though they offer more living space, they also will require maintenance or even break. As a solo RVer I don't think you would need the additional space as much. With a motorhome that size you can still tow a 2 door Jeep Wrangler. So now you could have separate transportation. And there is usually a great deal of storage in this size Class C, unlike a Class B where there is no storage. We also recommend getting it inspected (even new) by a third party inspector (not the dealership) to guarantee everything is good. And getting an extended warranty (3rd party not dealership) is a great idea, though it's a big out of pocket expense. As a solo female RVer, you'll want the added protection of a warranty for when things break and they will. We call a mobile tech, get the job done and only pay a $200 deductible versus $1,000s. I know this was a lot of information so please feel free to ask any other questions. Hope this is helpful.
Love the look of the Greyhawk 27U until you get to the bathroom, the 14" step up is a killer for someone like me that has bad knees and balance issues. Keep up the great videos and look forward to the next one.
I really like the JAYCO Melbourne 24L! Too numerous to write all my likes but, I love a window in the bathroom and the curved curtain shower, Nice roomy bath! The slide 'walk around bed' is what I'd need, don't particularly like corner beds! Yes, I'd add shelves to the bathroom cabinet, also love the mirrored chest, pull spice, etc rack, and overhead storage places also underneath the bed, but alas, the interior wood color I'd change to a cute honey brown! 👍♥️👏
Thanks Susan and Mike, great video. What I mean is great camera work, editing and commentary. Personally I would not buy a new Thor product so . . . .I just looked at 18 acres of really nice wooded land that is 176k. I'd do that before a Thor product. Maybe something used, 3 or 4 years old, maybe. Not new. Keep up the great work and stay safe out there. I watched this one because I like to support your channel. Also also, none of them have a proper food prep area in the kitchen area.
Thank you Tuvia! We always appreciate your support! 💚💛 We encourage buying used all the time. (But get an inspection and an extended warranty). You avoid that initial depreciation and get a great deal. Btw, 18 wooded acres sounds amazing! How peaceful! 😍
Hi Mike and Susan! Great video. My likes are the second Jayco and the Greyhawk. I liked the size if the bedrooms and the closets/ wardrobe space and the bigger microwaves. I love both the dinettes and bunks. Thank you Mike and Susan. Hope you both have a great week.
Definitely prefer the bed situation in the Melbourne and Greyhawk. Not a fan of the corner bed in the Redhawk. Jayco did a great job with floor plan and features convenience. Hope you have a great week too! Thanks Sheri!
@@RVBlogger You’re welcome ☺️ You’re channel is not only informative but entertaining. I will be an educated shopper when I go in to purchase my very first RV/Camper.
We have the 2019 Jayco Redhawk (24B?) and wish they had installed the tile backsplash around the stove, and find the location of the toilet impossible to use with the door closed, so we have to make accommodations when anyone is using it. I love all the storage we have but the door closing mechanisms had to be reinforced as the doors open up when driving. Our shower is bigger and taller, required for my 6’5” husband. Overall I’m pretty happy with our choice after scaling down from a 40’ Itasca.
I'm sure that had to be a big adjustment from 40'! We have the bathroom door issue with our Class C. I had to leave every time Mike had to go to the bathroom 🤣! Glad you liked the Redhawk. An oven is pretty important to some, understandable. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
My favorite was the Jayce Greyhawk, however there are two things I would change in it to entice me to buy it. I would change the trifold sofa out to theater seating, and put a televator across from it with a 40”tv.
A televator is such a smart design. A trifold sofa will definitely increase your sleeping options. Both great mods. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!

We own the Melbourne and LOVE it. However, ours has the recliners instead of the dinette and we do not really care for those. It is perfect for two people, yet roomy enough that if our grown children camp with us there is room. We have quite a few storage hacks that make it more usable for us. We do have a foam mattress topper on it as the folding mattress was uncomfortable to us.
So glad you love your Melbourne. I think the factory recliners can be less comfortable...our isn't comfy! Same goes with the mattress. Where are the sink covers. I like the double sink. I like the window headboard for the light. If someone wants it dark, they can get blackout curtains. I love the 27U. I have for 8 years. It’s perfect for a female solo traveller who loves to do crafts. I could have a craft buddy with me. Is the toilet still porcelain? Thank you for not getting rid of the oven. I might be confused but I thought with the mattress having to fold that it was up by the pillow area. Is there a door for the bedroom? I hope this model still has auto levelling. That emptying the tanks is a simple process. It was at one time that the only options for this motor home had to do with the batteries and solar. Nowadays I think solar is important to have. Thank you to Mike and Susan for your videos.
Sometimes, at RV shows, the sink covers are not in the RV for display. The toilet is still porcelain. There is a sliding barn door at the bedroom. Solar has it's value even if it's an overnight stay at a Cracker Barrel! Glad you like the Jayco Greyhawk floor plan. It definitely has some great features. Thank you for watching our RV tour videos and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Yes you can access the bathroom with the slides in. The door might not fully swing open but it should be accessible. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
It's not easy to find the CCC of a motorhome. Manufacturers do not list that information on their website. We thought that was the reason for the hole in the cabinet. Thank you for watching our RV tour videos and commenting. We appreciate your support!
The CCC should be listed on one of the three doors to a class C. I would not buy an RV that would be overweight with more than two people, one dog, a full tank of gas and half tank of water (without yet adding food, clothes, grill, etc.). And, that could be a problem if the CCC was only ~1,700 pounds, which is often the case for today's equipment- and slide-loaded RVs. If a wreck occurred, the insurance company would be all over that, looking for an excuse not to pay. I have to admit, though, that my idea of camping is a microwave (not a tent). However, I can do without the slides. Thank you to the builders for continuing to move away from absorption refrigerators (I had the Norcold fire). @@RVBlogger
@@terrysandiego unfortunately not all RVs will include that sticker of information...drives us crazy! I completely understand about the lack of CCC being a deal breaker and a huge risk. I guarantee 90% of all RVs are over their GVWR! We have an absorption fridge in our 2008 Class C. We have to drive out onto the road to level up and plug the RV in overnight to get the fridge cold by morning!😫
Ok. If we spot one in our travels we check it out. Thank you for the suggestion. And thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
27U: Window for a headboard means you have to lean against the window if you want to sit up in bed to read. Reading lights are useless unless you can sit up.
Great point! We have a window at the head of the bed in our Class C and do not like it. On a hot summer morning we are roasting. 🥵 Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I do not like that LARGE Step to get in and of the shower! I can just imagine trying to step out of there with wet feet! 😳 I do Love the large front window in the bunk, that gives a wonderful open feel.
Agree with both. That step is dangerous, esp with wet feet! Love that large window. Really helps to bring the outside in. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Any RV with a folding bed or a gigantic full wall slide-out is a no-go for me. so two of these are a deal breaker. I like the Jayco Redhawk (especially the outside storage) but it doesn't have enough kitchen space to comfortably cook.
Those are all fair points. The Redhawk does have limited kitchen space. There is always something that gets a bit of sacrifice. Thank you for watching our RV tour videos and commenting. We appreciate your support!

Hi Janice, We have an induction cooktop and a two burner gas stove. We only ever use the gas cooktop. I even unplugged the induction cooktop. Have you ever cooked on an induction cooktop stove before? Any advantages or disadvantages? Thanks, Mike
@@RVBlogger I have cooked on an induction cooktop and can’t tell any difference from an electric cooktop. My main interest in the portable cooktop for a class c or small travel trailer, which I have, is more counter space for a coffee pot, toaster, etc. Plus, you can use a portable induction cooktop outside.
@@janicecrockett1400 I (Susan) agree that a portable induction cooktop is great for creating more counter space. And creating more usable space is super important.
That is what we have in the Jayco Redhawk (2019) and it gets bloody cold on a fall evening… Since it’s our emergency exit there is no solution that would work.
@@ABirdWoman We bought a roll of reflective material and put it on our window to help with heat and cold. It's temporary so we can take it down during the day if we want the sunlight or view. Here's a link to our blog post. (That's me in the picture 🤣) rvblogger.com/blog/rv-window-insulation/
I don’t like that the newer RVs are all electric.. having a propane fridge when traveling is essential unless you want to carry extra batteries… no dry camping.

Do people really like this type of beds? You have to crawl in and out of them so I would never buy this kind of set up. First thing I would do is remove that bed frame and replace it with a twin size bed. Other than that I like the layout on number one
I don't think anyone really likes them but they do allow you to fit features nicely in a small Class C. We have one in ours (no slides) and not a big fan. Thought about modifying it but we have a great deal of storage under the bed that we would lose. You win some you lose some! Thanks BarTGila!
Decent video guys. Still, could do w a little less about drawers or time on storage item ideas and hear about the coach more, feels like a miss. Fuel tank size is more important to me then where a baking sheet may go or opening 5drawers of equal size ! Always good to see you both 🎩

On the 24a, are you able to open the bathroom door with the slide close?
Correction 24L.
Yes you can access the bathroom with the slides in. The door might not fully swing open but it should be accessible. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
The plug and hole in the cabinet above the bed is for a cpap.
We thought that could be the reason why. Thank you. And thank you for watching our RV tour videos and commenting. We appreciate your support!
We always need to know cargo carrying capacity. The cabinet over the bed with outlet and hole is for a CPAP machine. That "spice rack" is the pantry.
Mike and Susan, would love to see a review of the Entegra Odyssey 30Z
Ok. If we spot one in our travels we check it out. Thank you for the suggestion. And thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Mike why worry about the elbow room ? People read everything on their phones no more newspapers 😂😂😂😂
😂 Very true. I think an outlet might be more important! Can't have low battery when you need it the most!🤣
😂😂@@RVBlogger
27U: Window for a headboard means you have to lean against the window if you want to sit up in bed to read. Reading lights are useless unless you can sit up.
Great point! We have a window at the head of the bed in our Class C and do not like it. On a hot summer morning we are roasting. 🥵 Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I do not like that LARGE Step to get in and of the shower! I can just imagine trying to step out of there with wet feet! 😳
I do Love the large front window in the bunk, that gives a wonderful open feel.
Like it except it needs it has to have an oven like the two bass sink
An oven is a nice feature to have in a motorhome. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
With the slide out in, can you access the bathroom? what does it look like with the slide out in?
Yes, in all 3 motorhomes you can access the bathroom with the slides in. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!

On the first one, it looked nice but totally disliked the front bed area. No windows at all! I have to have at least one window on every side!
That's reasonable. I enjoy the natural lighting and cross breeze too! Thank you for watching our RV tour videos and commenting. We appreciate your support!
That's me too, I like a window in the cab over!
Large single bowl sink!
Pretty nice!
t least they have the 12v fridge. Now they need to move on to the induction cooktop.
Hi Janice,
We have an induction cooktop and a two burner gas stove. We only ever use the gas cooktop. I even unplugged the induction cooktop. Have you ever cooked on an induction cooktop stove before? Any advantages or disadvantages?
Thanks,
Mike
@@RVBlogger I have cooked on an induction cooktop and can’t tell any difference from an electric cooktop. My main interest in the portable cooktop for a class c or small travel trailer, which I have, is more counter space for a coffee pot, toaster, etc. Plus, you can use a portable induction cooktop outside.
@@janicecrockett1400 I (Susan) agree that a portable induction cooktop is great for creating more counter space. And creating more usable space is super important.
I don't see the need for the slide out for the 22a.
I guess it could go either way.
Thanks for watching!
Mike
Ya me too
Don’t like the window in bedroom for headboard.
Can get pretty hot on a warm summer morning! 🥵. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Camp queen beds for the most part, are too short for me since I’m 6’ 2”. Most RV beds are too short for me

I don’t like that the newer RVs are all electric.. having a propane fridge when traveling is essential unless you want to carry extra batteries… no dry camping.
The absorption (propane) fridge is great for traveling and boondocking. It would be nice him manufacturers could always offer both options.
You definitely can't open the bathroom door with the slide close on the 27U. Deal breaker.
The door won't fully open and it would be a tight squeeze but you might be able to get into the bathroom.
@RVBlogger I'm 230lbs with a 48" chest and a 38" waist. I know I couldn't.

Single bowl sink

Do people really like this type of beds? You have to crawl in and out of them so I would never buy this kind of set up. First thing I would do is remove that bed frame and replace it with a twin size bed. Other than that I like the layout on number one
I don't think anyone really likes them but they do allow you to fit features nicely in a small Class C. We have one in ours (no slides) and not a big fan. Thought about modifying it but we have a great deal of storage under the bed that we would lose. You win some you lose some! Thanks BarTGila!
Need solar

Cpap
I don't know why you wrote Cpap but I'm guessing I mis spoke somewhere in the video?
Decent video guys. Still, could do w a little less about drawers or time on storage item ideas and hear about the coach more, feels like a miss. Fuel tank size is more important to me then where a baking sheet may go or opening 5drawers of equal size ! Always good to see you both 🎩
