I lived in Gujarat for 8 years in 1970's. Our town had similar water problems. Forty-five years later, India still seems not to a have working water infrastructure available to all.

What Delhi needs most urgently is for other state governments to develop cities in their states and take the load off the 3-4 cities in the country that are all bursting at the seams with the sheer density of population there

for existing sangam vihar like unauthorized colonies free empty of septic tank per month per family basis to cover all households in the locality on yearly basis. The sewage from septic tank can be put in biogas plant with produced biogas can be cleaned and filled in cylinder for sale locally at Rs 200/500 for 5/10 litre light weight plastic/polymer gas cylinders like being introduced by IOCL, etc for LPG. The left of slurry from biogas plant can be sold as organic manure to Delhi horticulture department, farmers & companies in outskirts villages of Delhi who r growing vegetables.

for multistory apartment complexes low O&M cost organic Sewage Treatment Plant technologies on decentralized basis like constructed wetlands, reedbed, CAMUS-SBT, etc. need to be promoted instead of lower capital cost higher O&M STP technologies for cleaning waste water. also need is double pipeline for black water and grey water and separate treatment system and recycling the treated water for toilets, gardening, landscaping, etc. nonportable purposes.

Delhi hasn't improved a shit after Shiela Dixit left.. except few areas that come under Centre or where high class people live... ideally it should become completely a union territory, only then it can be managed properly
