  • Robin's first look into his beautiful Shatterpoint Box.
    But what does AMG do better than Games Workshop?
    I reckon for first impressions it's AMG 1: GW 2 - Find out why in the video.
    Robin is aiming to do a slow meander through the core box, aimed at people new to the hobby or with busy lives. There's lots of great "Wargamer" content out there, but this is more than one way to use the force!

    I am very excited to see some Shatterpoint videos on the channel. I know its hot this weekend but I need some painting motivation/inspiration to get me going with this.

    I also used to take pics of Underworlds warbands using the boards as a backdrop, but this as a very nice inclusion for SP. AMG really does recognize the hobby aspect of their games

    GW have included some small card photo backdrops in a couple of issues of White Dwarf, but they're not as nice looking as those Shatterpoint ones.

    Looking forward to seeing more Shatterpoint videos. Especially interested in your critique of, like Underworlds, how well the game balances objective control with attack/attrition.
    Cool shirt, btw!

      Cheers Travis! I suspect my tactical input might not be that hot for this game, but you never know!

    I thought the sprues were amazing. Layout was great and no looking around for the next piece. Didnt feel like i needed instructions for the models. Not done the terrain yet though. Looking forward to getting stuck in with shatterpoint

      The terrain is pretty great to assemble. I probably could have negotiated the sprues without instructions but I'm glad I didn't have to!

    I thought my copy was the only one that did not come with instructions, so I dismissed it as unfortunate, but if no copies come with it and only the small code on the back, it is definitely a bad move, especially for people trying to maybe get into the hobby with this game. Even MCP had the assembly rules on the booklet…
    That is one thing GW still does right at least, detailed assembly instructions.

    • @AgentsofSigmar
      @AgentsofSigmar  Год назад +1

      Agreed. The new MCP boxes don't have instructions and I guess they've decided that's the way to go. Which is fine as long as you tell everybody that's what you've done!

      @@AgentsofSigmar Agreed!
      It is obviously not an attempt to save on paper as it still comes with a huge piece of paper with the code, so my guess is that they want to prevent sharing instructions before the official release in case the boxes leak or break street date, which is fine but still not consumer-friendly. They should at least use the back side of that pamphlet a poster or a paint guide

    Not a helpful comment but I never encountered any issues assembling the B1's in legion. Easy to mix and match parts from other B1 kits as well.

    Kinda wish this came out before Legion, contemplating an en-masse eBay sale of all my Legion bits to fund some of this in the future

      If you're never going to paint them, you might as well. I like the variety to be had with the Shatterpoint minis.

    Hi guys, weird Q, but can I ask where you get your shelves from?

    • @AgentsofSigmar
      @AgentsofSigmar  Год назад +1

      A small Swedish boutique called IKEA or something like that. They're the boardgames classic Kallax shelves!

    Good review, all fair comment. Really looking forward to the game finally landing in my part of the world. We might only get it July thanks to our useless distributor for everything Asmodee. (All other war game stuff land close to global release or on global release) I am mostly excited about the game play and everything I have seen so far suggest that it is a really refreshing, innovative and interesting new strategic challenge.
    Definitely not like 95% of other games! A lot more about: (i) strategic positioning for area control (at least with initial scenario), (ii) strategically and tactically getting the most out of units even out of their activation, (iii) a lot more playing to an overall plan than specifically strategic planning out your approach and (iv) not just really about doing damage with units but the utility of units (other abilities).
    We need more games prepared to innovative away from 95% of other games with more than just slight tweaks etc. The struggle tracker, ability to kill units and unit design (combat tree) stand out in this game! I think even some of the early criticism of Shatterpoint is based on approaching the game like 95% of other games.

      I'm excited about a lot of the innovations. I just hope it remains intuitive when playing.

    Website specific rules/ assembly instructions are a put off. My hobby time putting models together is time away from the computer

      Yeah. That's a really good point. I don't mind it but it is definitely adding a screen into what was non-screen time.

    I was expecting a comparison of the tactics and gameplay difference, but it was a boring video like the other RUclipsrs…
