I am 41 and planning my first extended solo trip to Thailand. I know it's a little old to start traveling but I'm so excited to start. This video was really helpful
What I don't understand is why don't unfinanced expats start their online business back home first? Then when you see some financial progress now is the time to relocate.
Great vlog Brett, the only question I’m pondering is where in the Kingdom to make my base camp, especially at the moment with the crazy world we are currently experiencing. Trying to find the balance at the moment will be my first goal. Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang mai or Khon Kaen are my choice’s. Hope all is well in Chiangmai for you. Cheers Frank 😊
Completely agree, I used to try a bunch of stuff like dropshipping, social media marketing, cold calling etc. I would never get that good at it, the best I had was dropshipping on ebay which was doing 3k-4k a month. Now I literally only focus on 1 business model and happy to say I am doing 6 figures net per year. Finally can leave the cold and head out to thailand.
Good to see you back! What would you say are the pros & cons of teaching English online from Thailand, utilizing existing agencies? Frugally is definitely a word…not a fun one but a word nonetheless lol. Thanks for keeping it real….
Great vlog mate, I remember one of your old videos where you talked about asking any employer to let you work remotely? I think during this pandemic some industries have realised that allowing workers to work from home saves money! So maybe consider if your current work can be moved online?? Keep ‘em coming mate!
I tried this and was declined by my company due to international taxation and payroll issues. They were fine with me doing so in my home country but that wasn't my goal so parted ways.
How about making a success of your plan online in the UK or wherever so you know exactly what your doing and then have a plan for Thailand will look like.....seems the logical thing to me!!
Hi Brett, I am using this year to to save money and start my path to become a digital Nomad. I have plan to come to Thailand in January 2023 but I am confused as to what Visa I should go for. Can you talk about what visa you use or you rather not talk about it ?
I don't know if you've done this I'm new to your RUclips channel but have you done a breakdown of the true cost of living in Thailand let's say for a year the Visa process that you have to go through leaving the country and coming back into the country and having that part of the real cost of living in Thailand. Also are drones allowed in the countryside of Thailand thank you
Hi Brett, thanx for the video. How much money a year do you advise for a freelancer who already has regular incomes and wanna live in Thailand for long term ?
Looks like I still can get an STV and stay 9 month, I would have to get back to my home Country Germany though, to get a criminal record clearance and medical. 9 month+ would be tempting even if it is a lot of work and 14 day quarantine. Do you still need to be vaccinated to go to Phuket? It also pretty expensive Flight, Insurance and Quarantine Hotel all have to be booked and payed in advance and then they might shut down travel again or maybe even reject you, or they start Locking everyone down again. Kind of a big commitment with lots of unknowns. Definitely not something I would recommend for someone just wanting to start their business without any clients.
If you plan to go to another place before _starting_ to fund the adventure, I think you are misguided (as you mostly said). Why not become location independent NOW and then decide what place best suits you?
Concise clear and interesting. Well done Brett. You channel is extremely watchable.

I was looking into that and then I heard recently that China has just banned it and that was where a lot of the work was coming from.

Where you live looks peaceful outside...is it a home apt or condo? How common is it to find a place to live similar to where you are?

From your experience in Chang Mai, what do you see where the opportunities are? Do you see a need for expat teachers?
