Monica is the best and most mature character on the show! She's always ready for an advice and somehow manages to be a good friend,daughter and sister through the whole time.
I agree! Despite some (in my opinion) issues with her parents (or verbal abuse depending on your stance) she managed to conquer her fears and eating issues to become a great person who was always there for her friends. :) have a nice day!

Ross was 100% correct here. You can’t ask your friends to fly all this way across the ocean and then just say it’s cancelled. Wedding planning should always have a plan B location

Ikr, esp for a destination wedding in Europe, postponing the wedding would cause a pretty penny esp since it was postponed the last minute. Like everything has been booked. Guests have probably arrived at London and spend a lot of time and money just to watch Ross and Emily get married.

Yeah I'm on Ross's side here. He was definitely a douche in his response to Emily, but he's 100% right. You can't ask people to fly all the way to London and then just cancel it, and then expect another wedding. He just should have been nicer when he explained that.

If you have the perfect man, the wedding aint an issue. I have seen couples go bonkers over wedding and budget. It takes the whole fun out of it. Just get it done with friends and family and throw them the perfect party when you are ready.
Edit- This by no way means that one should not commemorate the day with friends and family, I am merely stating that stop shooting for unrealistic ideals, because when one fails to meet their own ideals or standards, one torments themselves to abyss, and the moment is then lost to just pain suffering and anguish.

Monica wouldn't care about this at this point in the series, she only changes her perspective when she and Chandler are about to get married and Chandler shows her what his plans for their life together are, that's when she understands a perfect married life is better than a perfect wedding.
Adrian aron yeah but i don't think that's the point. Some people wants something else. Like monica and emily and a lot of girls and even boys dream about their perfect wedding. I guess because it's a once in a lifetime thing( if you are not gonna end in divorce). So they just want it to be perfect.
@@selinakyle1822 There is no such thing as perfect though imo, even the perfect of weddings have flaws, their pursuit to perfection leaves them absolutely paranoid on the wedding day. They dont get to live in the moment is all I am saying. To each their own but when you are soo sucked up in the materialistic party that you forget all about the man that has crossed a whole dimension of time to be there, it just ruins it for me, tbh. I mean you get your own person, you will have weddings planned but too much pressure on one event is really not the way to go. I mean you cant relax for Christ's sake, the bride and groom are always tensed up, just be in the moment I say, the rest will work out, make good with what you have instead of pushing for an ideal. And that ideal too being one sided here since monica planned it and his significant other didnt. So yeah...

To be honest, this has always bothered me, like we are supposed to agree with Emily and Monica here, but I think Ross is right. I understand that Emily wanted a perfect wedding, but all those people flew to London it would be insane to ask them to come back again. If I was one of their invites I would have been pretty pissed.

Looking back on this scene as an adult, Monica really did give terrible advice. It simply is not practical to postpone a wedding in which half of the guests and the groom had to travel overseas to attend.
It simply does not matter how long Emily has wanted a perfect wedding. You have to be realistic, too.
I agree with you, in my opinion, Monica was blamed (not completely) for Ross and Emily's relationship didn't work out, she pushed him a lot he declared to her, besides the wedding postponement was something that Ross and Emily had to discuss, it's good Monica wanted to support her but she shouldn't have taken that decision instead of Ross himself.

Postponing the wedding is just a horrible idea esp since it's already a destination wedding and they are expensive esp in Europe and for the reason, it's for. I would understand if a close friend or family member was sick or dying in the hospital but for location not so much. For me, I wouldn't care where I got married, as long if I'm with the person I love and the ppl love. Plus the wedding in London and the wedding is days away. Things have already been booked and pay for, so postponing would be so much more expensive. Plus, it wouldn't be expensive for the bride and groom for the guests esp for the groom's side. A plane ticket from the U.S to London will cost you a very pretty penny. Plus request more than a couple days off work and book a hotel, It also like a day worth of flight, from the U.S to London, so if they were going to postpone a wedding, they should at least give week advance so they could have chance to cancel their flight and get a refund. Since Emily and Ross were getting married the next day, there chance they all of Ross's guests were either at London or on a plane to London.
