Beware the dreaded rattleheaded coppermoccasin!!😊 Robert, wouldn't it be better to have some big equipment come in and push the barn over? Then you could safely dig through it and salvage....just a thought. You should consider making Wisteria essential oil. You could make money on those vines and have a working flower farm! All you need is a still. I'm sure you can find one of those down there some place.😊🐝❤
I believe that "shingle tin" is actually tin skirting used to close off the crawl space under a house. Those squares, I believe, are intended to look like limestone blocks with a mortar line between them.
I like it how its made from old things just laying around the yard. It makes it look like its there for a long time plus its cheaper. I do the same way when it comes to building stuff around the yard.
I used some old roofing tin that had a shake pattern on it to make a chicken coop for my silkies. It has layers of paint ,green and red, plus some rusty spots. No rust is going all the way through though. I then trimmed it in some white vinyl trim. It turned out really nice and best of all it was all salvaged stuff so was free. Now to build the run which unfortunately I have to buy supplies for
Great job on the chicken coop. Glad you reuse items from the old barn. Recycle is great. Thank you also for adopting Bleu. He seems to love running around the place and of course is always ready to help you out. lol
Love seeing Uncle Ken! Baloo keeps busy investigating everything! I wonder if you might have 🍯 honeybees in the old rotten tree? Be careful out there guys! 👍🏻👩🏼🌾🍑💪🏻🚜
1:20_Uncle Ken knows what you can't see does matter ("yeah, there's still rust on the back"). When is it Guinea time? Does Blue (BahLOOH) interact with 'em at your home?
Robert it's looking great! You've really done well upcycling the metal 💪are you tempted to paint it at all ... might look nice with that pretty door and window maybe ... guess that's more of a nice to have rather than a need though.
You could built alot with all the good left overs on that barn.i liat father inlaw bulit a 4 bedroom 2 bath starting with just a bare pole barn free wood from a house the got to tear down in lynn haven fl.i miss it up north
You’re doing a great job with the chicken coop nice window don’t forget to put lighting rod on it and ground it ok waiting on the next adventure watch y dog so he won’t get nailed stuck in his paws.
Hello Robert, from New Zealand! I like what you are trying to achieving here. Perhaps you could use the other Robert's stick to lift up the loose iron.
HI Robert, only 11 seconds in and I am wondering why you don't look back at your videos to see where you placed the tin sheets in the future. Save some time. 💡😎
Hey all y'all heathens .. Bahaha. Hey sweet Bleu❣️I was gonna say u needed to get our Uncle Ken some sweet tea but I see he had some as he was jetting. So Robert says "I know normal people would prob trash this old wood" .. Now Robert are you saying U r abnormal?? LOL. Hey U said it .. wink. I absolutely love the rectangle patterned tin. I think they used to use that on the inside ceilings of houses & paint it. Wonder if it was originally inside the Byrd Farm House?? Or one of them?? I know my aunt has a historic house up in Villa Rica & she put that inside on her ceilings bc she said it was period ceilings. I imagine that is top dollar nowadays even tho it's thinner. Anywho y'all take good care neighbors!✌🏼💞🍑
I think I would have spread the wire mesh out on the ground and built the chicken coup on top of it, making it the floor. By extending it out on all four sides by a couple of feet, it could have been folded up and fastened into place, making an impenetrable safeguard no matter how deep a predator might dig.
Hello Robert uncle Ken and as always Walter good job. Thanks enjoyed looking forward to the next video. By the way is there an update on the roof? Blue is supervising right

Grandma would say "The chickens don't care about the coop as long as the curtains match". Giggling

Blue was always there ready to lend a helping paw. 🐾💖
Midas turned objects into gold with his touch, a fella turned tin into a chicken coop.
Ballou steals the show.
Such a good dog
Yeah he is...

Robert yur hard wk on the chicken coop looks great. Nice to see uncle ken... 🤓💕
Keep it up kiddo! You're doing a helluva job. Nice to have your own "pick a part" lumber yard nearby. Saves time and money!
I admire your work ethic!
Another informative video on your chicken coop, you all put so much time into your coop the chickens will love them. Love Baylou he is adorable.
Very well done and creative!! JR
As Always Walter Good Job!
Thank you! (Walter Mallard Photography)
Demonstrating the quality of the timber and the testing stick disintegrates , a point well made! 😝 cheers Robert🍻
I believe that "shingle tin" is actually tin skirting used to close off the crawl space under a house. Those squares, I believe, are intended to look like limestone blocks with a mortar line between them.
It could also be for a patterned tin ceiling which was popular in the 1880-90 era. I've seen many old houses with tin cielings.
I like it how its made from old things just laying around the yard. It makes it look like its there for a long time plus its cheaper. I do the same way when it comes to building stuff around the yard.
Yeah for sure, that was the biggest thing.... I wanted it to match the rest of the farm

The Native Americans used wisteria vine for baskets. Perhaps a basket maker would want some.
Are there many native craftsmen flourishing in America? They were brutally exploited .
Love love love the salvaged tin coop siding! Straight-out-of-the-Great-Depression authentic!
Love recycling.😀
I went and got a tetanus shot for just watching you handle all that rusted tin! 😂
Haha I’m getting my money’s worth out of my tetanus shot
Uncle Ken President 2024
Blue crawling through the rubble living his best life 😍
Uncle Ken!!! Hi and of course you Robert .
Hello!
I think it is a very pretty chicken coop. Enjoyed watching the build.
Again, waste not, want not. Great job boys. A real chook shed
Coral snakes love to hide under materials like that too, they are just as deadly if not moreso....
There is no anti-venom for coral snake bite. About the only treatment is a ventilator.
They’re very rare here. But I keep my eye out for all of ‘em.
I saw one once in Florida, Coral snakes are beautiful and they are not shy.
With all those bits of tin you could make tin shingles for the chicket coop!
Love seeing Uncle Ken! Baloo keeps busy investigating everything! I wonder if you might have 🍯 honeybees in the old rotten tree? Be careful out there guys! 👍🏻👩🏼🌾🍑💪🏻🚜
Another example that often you need to Tear Down before you Build Up!
That's the best looking coop THIS side of the Mississippi
You've got to print a shirt with Uncle Ken on the porch.
Bye uncle Ken🧡
Love what your doing on that property. Just one thing, your dog isn't going to be happy till it gets a nail in some part of its body.😉
Everyone favorite uncle
Great video I see what you meant about the live videos :) Thankyou for another great vid
Black widows also hang out around metal
Yeah gold
Well there you go.
Sorry Robert. I missed a lot of the audio.😞 I heard the saw perfectly! 😁
Ha! Ha! Ha! Hilarious! So funny! (Walter Mallard Photography)

I hope Robert's Whopper (in the cemetery video) was as good as the one I just ate!
Like your thinking
waste not
want not LOL
Nice job 👍
that leaning building is scary. and then the dog & you walk next to it. i'm afraid it will crush you.
It’ll fall inwards, it’s only scary when we’re inside
You gonna air condition that chicken coop? LoL You know how our Ga summers are.
lol it’s got lots of ventilation
Lol. For real.
You’re doing a great job with the chicken coop nice window don’t forget to put lighting rod on it and ground it ok waiting on the next adventure watch y dog so he won’t get nailed stuck in his paws.
I have a question?....
With the tin on the sides of the chicken coop.. would it not be too hot for them in the summer? 😳☺️
Fried 🐔, my fav : )
No.

Love the chicken coop
Won't the chickens be hot in that metal box? Summer nights in GA are pretty intense.
Love what you are accomplishing! Enjoy your videos but as a loyal viewer, I wish you would wear gloves. Just worry about your safety.
LOL. That’s what I was thinking and saying to myself as I watched.
cute wild rod Chicken Coop needs a windows to
I fella could say he had good hearing before the tin rattled lol. Headphones bout had it 😆
hahah yeah it’s pretty loud still
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG sounds of progress
Hello Robert uncle Ken and as always Walter good job. Thanks enjoyed looking forward to the next video. By the way is there an update on the roof? Blue is supervising right
Has Baloo ever scouted out anything of interest for you to see?!
Not yet, he pretty much stays by me.
It looks cool shabby sheik. Hang a wreath over the window and get a horse shoe to hang on the door.
100 yrs. from now the new owners (while still cleaning up the wisteria) will wonder about how this chicken coop is put together....."wth!"
Probably
Rattleheadedcoppermocisin! Bahaha!
Coming along really good, well done guys, don't you just love Uncle Ken, he's such a sweet guy, how do you spell your dogs name?
Baloo or Blue. Depends on what I call him at the time.
U need a pair of snake boots
With your southern accent I can't tell, is the dog's name Blue or Balou? Not being mean, I just want to know, please.
You should wear gloves when handling rusty metal.
For sure. This tin wasn’t too sharp tho, so I felt good about it
Your dogs name is Baloo like jungle book or Blue like blue healer?
Baloo is how you tube spells puppy name in closed caption just FYI 😜
I think that’s how the shelter spelled it
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG that's awesome. First correct thing I've seen from YT hahaha😋
Seen houses go up faster than this coop
It took 3 weeks from start to finish, but I had a lot going on and using repurposed materials slows ya down too.
I hate snake's especially the 2 legged ones in government, just sayin.
We'd be much better off dealing with the no legged version for sure!
Robert been watching you from the past few months interesting of what your doing does any existing Byrd family have any past relatives still living?
The Byrd’s had no living descendants. There are people connected through marriage still living who grew up in the house in the ‘40’s - 60’s.
are you not allowed to burn all that rotten crap timber ? ... place would look 10 times better if you did .
You handle all that filthy old rubbish and don't wear gloves. Beats me.
