I agree. My dad made us kids so conscious of making any noise when we ate as we grew up we can’t stand to hear other people eat either but the pigs and my dogs I love to hear chew and smack their food. ❤ almost melts my heart.
Pookie's original family must be so happy to see her adjusting so well. They miss her, but know they could not have chosen a better better place than Cog Hill Farm.
@judithrivin2031 Absolutely!!! The Original Family has to be Overexcited with Pookie adjusting on Cog Hill Farm so Well!!!!! Us Family Subs are all Excited for Pookie and Excited We All get to Watch Pookie Become a Happy Fur Animal on Cog Hill Farm !!!!!! Isn't She such a Beautiful Animal Inside as well as on the Outside ?!?!? Happy Thanksgiving!!!!! 🤗❤️👍🙋🏻♀️
I agree. U can still hear them in most cases. Sounds so nice. Not quite as over whelming as all the geese. Though there sound is nice once in a while too. Sound so full of joy the geese. ❤
Brooke you're so funny roosters are awesome to hear in the morning I don't care how loud or how many times they crow they are beautiful beautiful creatures Don't apologize for them crowing woohoo Be excited instead
Double helping for Peaches! That's such a healthful treat. Thanks for another farm adventure, Brooke. I knew about teflon pans, but not the turkey bags. Thanks for sharing.
I live in eastern North Carolina where a lot of people from New York, New Jersey and other northern states and the Midwest have settled in the last 15 or 20 years. They often go to the grocery store where they are looking for their favorite green vegetable, which is called kale.people in this area never heard of kale so the grocer gets it for all these northern folks and she just calls it Yankee collards. The northern folks have joined right into the fun. This is a fun place to live.
Brooke, your boys are your protectors. I think that is wonderful. They make good companions. My dog is a Dandie Dinmont Terrier. He is a rescue and I could not love him more. Have a great day!
USE your EGG SHELLS…. The eggshells provide calcium, potassium and magnesium, which are essential for healthy plant growth! Natural pest deterrent - The sharp edges of the eggshells also act as a natural pest deterrent, helping keep critters away from your plants and protecting the roots
Aww Brooke. That’s so sweet for you to try and make her a momma. The love you have for all on the farm is one of the reasons we love you so much. The garden is amazing ! All is good at Cog Hill 🥰
Sorry about the silky chicks. I hope you can find her a chick. Peaches super enjoyed that pumpkin. Thanks for the interesting video. Pocket looks to be quite happy. Yay. ❤❤❤❤
It’s so funny I’m in New Zealand and my calendula flowers went all through the winter and they were incredible. They’re still going early summer. It’s a great plant!!!
We had 160 acres in Wisconsin. Our love dog king went everywhere with us. While riding our hoarse we wanted him to stay back at the house. Our wooded land had a lake in the middle of the woods with a road that made a circle from the house to the lake and back to the house. We sent king home he obeyed as usual. We had our nice ride to the lake. When arriving at the lake there he was waiting. We had a good laugh but love that dog for 17 years. I can’t thing of one bad think King ever did. He was half white Shepard and half white Samoyed. Beautiful and the most gentle sole.
Wow, that cabbage looking good. That man can grow anything amazing!! I love it ehen you get too cook. Your cornbread is out of this world so good. Wish you could doing a cooking show!!!❤❤❤
Good morning Mrs Cog Hill. Brooke, I love that you show us different things about the farm and what you are doing. I love seeing the animals but there's so much more to it than that. You take us along with you on your part of the farm, the cooking, freeze drying, crafting, animal rescue, so on and so on. You are behind the scenes of the farm. Jason and you together have created a special place that we all enjoy. Thank you.🥰🥰
YES and as We All say.. Gives Us informations we ALL might not know!! As with the Oven bags.. Now they are saying Cooking with Tin Foil is Bad?? I have had Birds since my Daughter lived with me.. Way before 1996 We knew about Oven bags those Plug in leave on Air Fresheners.. My Daughter was like MC she read everything. Was Scared to Death of hurting her birds.. But I have Cooked with them with Birds in house and on back porch where they ALL live now that my Asthma as made me moved them Out House. Now I am NOT saying Go ahead Cook with them.. There be NO Problem But I am just saying I have had No Problem... As with Anything I take Tylenol and You Will Die!! Brooke is Always trying to Let us know and show How much She Cares.. While other Video Creators just post, watch it so I get PAID.. Why CHF the BEST!! Happy Thanksgiving Y'all.
Try feeding your Emus some Kale. Lester feds it to his Ostriches. They love it. I use my egg shells in my garden and in my house plants. I even use, used coffee grounds in my garden.
❤ Agree that i loved hearing the roosters. Pocket is such a beautiful animal and so much love she has to give. And i'm so happy she's with her cog hill farm, i know that she will get all the love she needs from you. Love you.
Here in Kenya we put a dash of cinnamon and butter in the cabbage after is has stir fried. Oh my, its a game changer and people that don't even like cabbage comment on how good it is. I usually slightly steam it in a large fry pan with real butter and a little water and a little chicken seasoning until soft. Then I add the cinnamon and even a few red chili flakes. Soooo good. Our favorite cabbage dish is steaming it in apple cider vinegar, water, a dash of sugar, and chicken seasons & red chili flakes. I sometimes sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving. My mom used to make a sesame seed and melted real butter to pour over cabbage. Maybe thats where I got my love for a very inexpensive vegetable dish that is awesome for your digestion!
I don’t have birds due to allergies. When I was young, I loved birds…much like Mary Carl. I studied them in the wild as well as in books. I had finches, canaries, pied silky doves, cockatiels and even a pair of love birds. I had an “aviary” in my living room that was 8’ x 3’ that I loved, until I was about 30yrs old and started having serious allergy issues. I’ve never used an oven bag to cook anything in, but having said all that, I had no idea there were chemicals emitted when oven bags were cooked. I’ve never heard that. So thank you Brooke, for alerting those of us who’ve obviously led a rather sheltered life that we were ignorant of this. I would have felt terrible if I had used them not knowing the possible consequences, and something bad happened to my pets. Now that you’ve told us, it does make sense, but I had not considered it before. Wow. Happy Thanksgiving Cog Hill Farm! Love your channel, and thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤ 26:02
Well Brooke, you tried to let her hatch out eggs. But she will need babies if you are to get her off the nest. 😉 Jason has great gardening skills. The garden this year is looking fantastic! 💖💖💖
Peaches loves eating up the pumpkin nuggets that Pocket left behind. Brooke, you have a heart of gold taking the effort looking for a chick to cheer up your mama Silkie.
Good morning Brooke I had my knee replacement surgery it went well I just love watching your videos this bright's my day just seeing the love your family has for these beautiful collection of animals
Happy Thanksgiving week, Brooke! I only like kale in slaw, or braised, into a white bean soup, with tons of garlic and onion. I sautee it with the carrots, celery, garlic and onion then use veggie or chicken broth, and add the beans. It's hearty and delicious!
Brooke I have a simple recipe for cabbage is easy and very delicious ! Just take a medium size head cabbage and chop it up in about 1” wide size cubes or strips and put the cabbage in a baking dish !! Take 1 stick of butter and cut in Pats and evenly lay over cabbage , take 1 - 8 oz block of creamed cheese and cut in small cubes and lay over the cabbage , sprinkle over about 1 teaspoons of salt and pepper each !! DO NOT ADD WATER or any Liquid !! Cover with lid or spray some aluminum foil and cover the baking dish or pan tightly !! Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45-60 minutes !! Remove lid or foil and stir well to make sure all the cabbage is covered with the sauce , which will be a thin Alfredo type sauce !! Then either sprinkle top of casserole with crispy fried bacon or add the bacon to each individual serving , add more S&P as needed to individual servings !! This dish is easy to make , delicious and reheats well either covered in oven or in microwave ( which. is how I rewarm it ) delicious with Cornbread !! !! I love all y’all’s videos !! ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
@archaprice3372 believe me it is delicious snd so easy to make , I love cornbread with it ! I hope you’ll try it , in fact that’s what I’m making today !! Thank you for your reply to my comment !! I hope others see my comment snd try it also , if you enjoy cabbage you’ll love the recipe and enjoy serving it on your table !! 🙋🏻🙏🙏🙏🌈🌈
@diannabrooks I hope you’ll try it , it’s easy to make and delicious to eat ! If you like cabbage you’ll love the recipe ! In fact I’m making it today ! Thank you for replying to my comment ! 🙋🏻🙏🙏🌈🌈
I’m thinking Pocket just needs to live on the front porch with the boys. Wouldn’t it be fun to come out every morning to a horse that follows you around like Deedee?
I just had a thought about your silkies living in the barn. If you made a frame that you could put around any nest you find it would keep the hen from moving the eggs all over. She would still be able to turn the eggs just like she would do in a nest box. Just a thought.
Thank you for the warning about the turkey bags. I have a lot of birds and I didn't know. I don't use them and I don't think I ever would but thank you
I never knew that birds were so sensitive to things like something as simple as fumes an oven bag might put out. I had a little parakeet when I was young for a short while... Thank you for putting that bit of knowledge out ❤
it is so sad that the eggs are not viable and bless your heart for taking care to think to find a couple babies for her to look after.Pocket is looking so content at her new home. And Peaches is happy with her new room mate. I am happy that the garden is fruitful and you will be able to enjoy some harvest this year. All Jason's hard work will pay off🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
That metal Cog Hill County School sign you have on the chicken bus is really cute. I may have forgotten when you put it up...and Thank You to whoever made it! :) ☺😶🌫 Peaches is such a dainty eater. :) 🐷
The roosters probably sound louder to Yall inside the Barn, Same with the Dogs barking during the Lives... but they're not as loud on My end, So No worries here! I'm used to hearing Both, lol. I hope ya Find a Silkie chick!!
Jason is a treasure! I know you all appreciate his green thumb, energy, humor and love for all your animals. I love him for his dance moves and collards!
Thank you Brooke for all the Beautiful Smiles. Cog Hill is so diverse, something Beautiful is always popping up, either in the Gardens or in the Pastures. Pocket is sure enjoying the pasture and meeting all the Wonderful Cog Hill Pasture Community. 😀👍👍👍
Brooke you are a wonderful person, trying to find a baby chick for your silkie. I sure hope you can find one. I love watching your videos and Cog Hill videos. Jason and you are so down to earth people and really show what it is like to have a farm. I noticed the flowers the other day in Jason’s video and was amazed at them blooming. They are so beautiful and love the idea of freeze drying them. Pookie is so loving and love that we get to see her. Good luck in finding the chick.❤️
If I heard a person smack their lips the way peaches does I’d give them the look. When I see how much peaches enjoys her food, I’m in heaven.
Me too!!
Oh yes my husband smacks an the mentally disable girl I watch omg cannot eat around them I eat different times from them
I had an uncle named Mack and we called him Uncle Smack, it was a challenge to eat with him the noise was so loud.
I agree. My dad made us kids so conscious of making any noise when we ate as we grew up we can’t stand to hear other people eat either but the pigs and my dogs I love to hear chew and smack their food. ❤ almost melts my heart.
Same! 😂😂😂😂
Pookie's original family must be so happy to see her adjusting so well. They miss her, but know they could not have chosen a better better place than Cog Hill Farm.

Brooke, Yhall don’t apologize for the roosters; I love hearing them myself! Probably most of us do, because we dont get to hear them otherwise🤷♀️❤️
I agree, I love the sound of the roosters and the donkeys.
@@Barngirl_26 I love the roosters crowing , they make me smile !!
I agree. U can still hear them in most cases. Sounds so nice. Not quite as over whelming as all the geese. Though there sound is nice once in a while too. Sound so full of joy the geese. ❤
@ they sure are !!
Hearing the roosters brings back so many happy memories 🐓🙋🏻♀️🦋
Maybe pocket would love an apple and definitely carrots when ready 😊

Rooster are very social and get excited when their human comes out to feed.
Peaches munching that pumpkin is so cute! She says it’s Thanksgiving around there for her all fall!
Double helping for Peaches! That's such a healthful treat. Thanks for another farm adventure, Brooke. I knew about teflon pans, but not the turkey bags. Thanks for sharing.
Me neither. How come they are safe for us humans?
I sure hope you find a silkie chick for that devoted moma. ❤

Brooke, your videographer skills are getting better and better. There were fantastic views - absolutely beautiful!
They all seem to enjoy the new addition to the farm. She is a loving animal !
Brooke, your boys are your protectors. I think that is wonderful. They make good companions. My dog is a Dandie Dinmont Terrier. He is a rescue and I could not love him more. Have a great day!
I hope you are successful in finding a silky chick! Best wishes 🌸
The dogs are protecting you both!
It makes me smile to hear how much Peach’s is loving her pumpkin! ❤😂

Another good video, Pookie is so adorable giving you hugs and kisses that is so sweet miss seeing Dee Dee this morning . Thank you for sharing.❤
Peaches is pleased that Pookie didn't like the pumpkin!
God bless your heart Brooke, for looking after that Silkie, you are such a sweet person !

Awe, thank you for sharing this. Love hearing how animals are just like our babies.
A dip in our southern temps does wonders for a fall garden - greens, cabbage, and broccoli will be sweeter.
Wow, that cabbage looking good. That man can grow anything amazing!! I love it ehen you get too cook. Your cornbread is out of this world so good. Wish you could doing a cooking show!!!❤❤❤
She could just add more cooking segments to her videos.

Aww, Peachie had such a good breakfast. ❤
Steamed cabbage mashed in with creamed/buttered potatoes is delicious... sautéed in yet more butter like a pancake is divine
We call that bubble and squeak and it’s so delicious …I’m of English descent and we had it often 😋😋

That latch on the gate is just the right height to poke an eye out!
Bless your heart.
I noticed the latch was at Pookie’s eye level.

I'm glad you made it through. Healthy rehabbing.
Oh my goodness the flowers are beautiful of course there at cog hill farms ❤️🚜🐝🐈⬛🦆🙏🏻
I grew calengalia for the first time and it has spread and is still blooming even after our first light snow!😊
Happy Thanksgiving week, Brooke! I only like kale in slaw, or braised, into a white bean soup, with tons of garlic and onion.
I sautee it with the carrots, celery, garlic and onion then use veggie or chicken broth, and add the beans. It's hearty and delicious!
Sounds yummy!
I can only eat the laquinto (sp?) kale & only in a minestrone. The regular kale is not good to me plus you has to remove their tough spines.

Ina Garden made "kale chips" for Jenifer Garner's BD dinner (at Jens house) Absolutely delicious 😋😋😋
I like Ina Gartens recipes, too.
I just had a thought about your silkies living in the barn. If you made a frame that you could put around any nest you find it would keep the hen from moving the eggs all over. She would still be able to turn the eggs just like she would do in a nest box. Just a thought.
I thought that too or even put her in a caged pen to keep her safe!
