They’re not dead. They’re just reacting naturally to being assaulted by the stupidest trash they’ve ever witnessed- and at “live” shows like this, while they’re taping, you’re not allowed to do things like get up, walk out, head to the nearest subway station, step off the platform right in front of speeding train, and thereby pulverize your skull just to make sure the memory of this performance gets deleted forever. Yeah, these studios can be pretty strict.
@@AwesometownUSA Dude, yungblud ist pretty amazing. If you've only seen this performance and hate it, look into it a bit more before judging. If you know his other songs/performances and still don't like them then that's your thing, but make sure to check him out. If you've done that, sorry, I'll back off. I just think that his songs have very important messages, but yeah, this is definitely not the best performance. (Also because you said "live" shows: yes it is obviously playback but there weren't any expectations for it not being playback)

I do have a reason, however. I’ve been working in the music industry in various forms since I was 13 (and landed a gig running wires for a stage production company). In the ~25 years since then, I’ve seen the ins and outs of the record industry enough to pick up - from various, subtle clues - that this is a “manufactured” act. I’m not super-familiar with Yungblud [i actually thought it was a *different* band, a lesser-well-known act with a very similar name, but that’s why I clicked on the video].
I very quickly recognized what this act was: to put it crudely, it’s a cash grab, concocted by an A&R guy (or maybe team), utilizing proven pop elements tweaked slightly so as to slip their fingers into the wallets of a specific - often intractable - demographic.
There are a bunch of specific elements I could get into... for one, if you’re a newer act, poised for a potential breakthrough, you still *don’t even get the phone number* of the company that will *connect you to the management consultant* who steers acts into late night talk show music slots... unless you have some serious machinery behind you, propping you up to these companies.
I could get more into it, but you know what? I’ve been genuinely taken aback by the sincerity of the fans commenting here - and rather than try to infect other people with my jaded cynicism, I should have just sat this one out. Let people enjoy whatever the fuck they wanna enjoy.
And so yes, I posted a handful of negative comments just for the sake of anyone else like myself who might stumble upon this video and dislike it as much as I do. After seeing all the fans lauding it, they could then feel validated by my comments. Like “ohh ok good, I’m not the only person here who thinks this is pure firetrash. I’m not going crazy. Phew!”
Sorry for this looooong ass reply, haha. What it all amounts to, is that even though I mighta had *reasons* to comment like I did, I didn’t really have a good *excuse* ...

Dom was INCREDIBLE when I saw him in concert in September! While he doesn't do meet and greets as he used to, I got a quick 2-3 minutes with him after the show. He was a total sweetheart and I loved our convo and will cherish it. He's just such a great role model for speaking out about topics that matter. Joe is right though in one respect.... Bring earplugs. I got some I use for concerts (Vibes High Fidelity Concert Earplugs) that are AWESOME for concerts. I was at the barricade right by the speakers and it was LOUD. Everyone's ears were ringing afterwards for hours but mine weren't. 😁
