With its announced growth target of around five percent, China is forecast to be the single largest contributor to global growth in 2024, yet much attention is being paid to the drivers of growth. What short-term economic stimulus and longer-term systematic approaches are needed to strategically revitalize growth prospects and ensure economic development? CGTN, together with the WEF, invited Aparna Bharadwaj, managing director and partner at Boston Consulting Group; Keyu Jin, professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science; Eswar Prasad, professor at Cornell University and Peng Sen, president of the China Society of Economic Reform, to check the realities of the Chinese economy, as well as the headwinds and challenges it faces and the country's potential for high-quality growth.
