I would love to see the double-decker Airbus A380 and its newer future variants continuing in the aviation world for at least another 40 years. Such a breathtaking piece of engineering, human ingenuity, and bold endeavour to be marvelled at!
It’s not economically the best for operators since it’s quite difficult to fill up a plane that nearly seats 1000 people. However that doesn’t detract from the fact that the plane with its size, can get off the ground.
@@angelacollins7695 economic reasons, the a380 would've been a great plane in the 1960s-late90s to compete against the 747 because airlines relied on the hub-and-spoke model. Nowadays twin jet airplanes such as the Boeing 777/787 or a350 are superior as airlines can now rely on direct point-to-point flights. Flights that weren't popular enough to fit enough seats on bigger planes that were the only ones to fly far can now be serviced with planes that have lower capacity AND longer range. To simplify: Airplanes have gotten incredibly efficient which has helped us consumers by unlocking more direct non-stop flights
@@tek1645 thank you for explaining it to me 🙂 it does make sense but wow do I wish for a ride first lol. Sorry it took so long to reply. I never received a notification until today for the newer postings.
It was, is and will be a legendary plane. I have been a fan of it for years and I feel a bit sorry for the thought that it is possible that in a few years I will not have the opportunity to fly it 😢
Yup, in the '70s, when other airlines were making Death-Crusiers and Airbs A300s (see what I did with Airbus?), Boeing made a contraption that is still used today.
SnipeYouFromMars Me too. The 747-8 is cool and all, but The A380 is WAY bigger and just looks better. Also, the 747-8 doesn't have 2 full decks. And they even made the first jumbo jet.....
The A380 is impressive, but it seems too large and underpowered to perform emergency maneuvers. Saw one on the ground with 1 flat tire and the engine was almost hitting the ground (within a foot of it) Takeoff is smooth, but feels like it is struggling to get off the ground. Not saying it's not a nice plane, but I flew on a relatively new A380 and it already looked "well worn" (which is something I have noticed in Airbus designs) that being they seem like they don't age gracefully, but quickly lose their shine. Was on a A340 back and it also seemed worn (different carrier) Just my observation. Liked my flight on the A380 also on the 787. The 747 needed to be replaced with a new design, but 777x seems the way they are heading.
I watched this when I was 10 years old, and now I am turning 20 this September. The time flies so fast, and still, this is my dream job: to be a flight attendant or pilot someday. I hope to be a crew member on an A380 someday.
Bullshit!! Why 975 dislikes any drawbacks in this or all boeing dislikes.. I like this interior design well designed for crew and inside safety equipment is also good..Love u A380 😍😍😍😍
This was the most amazing flying experience I’ll ever have! I can’t afford 1st class but the upgraded coach seats (whatever they were called😂) were amazing!!
I got to wondering, the plane can hold 843 passengers, & even at a conservative $1000 per seat for economy which is bout 700 of those seats, thats 700K. Then add in business class which is about 100 at 3K a seat & thats 300K. And finally 1st class which i have seen as high as 12K per seat, thats another 515K. Thats roughly 1.5 million for a long haul flight. Even conservatively, its gotta be pushing 1Mil per flight. Just dayum!
Just the fuel for the flight will cost around 110K at least, and that's before depreciation, maintenance, flight crew wages and overheads and insurance. A more realistic assumption is 100% load factor in economy, 50% in business and first which get the gross revenue down to below 900K. 3 flight crew at 2000 each at least, 20 cabin crew at, say, 750 each, navigation and landing charges ... $1000 per economy seat per sector is quite high. Last time on an A380 (LHR-DUB-MEL-DUB-LHR) I paid around $1200 for the 4 sectors, around 4 weeks in advance. The flight is a big enterprise (that's why airlines have production engineers to schedule and reschedule aircraft and crew, as well as many other engineers) but it is far from being a gold mine.
@@ArthurKaletzky true but one thing I would like to add is that airlines rely heavily on business and first. most money they received is spent on the governments of different countries so that they are allowed to fly through those countries' airspace.
