My son did a lap on L’s in the mighty Falc Ute, truly Mecca for Aussie petrol-heads, love the Munro.
Awesome work
I first came from Scotland to Bathurst in 1993 and then again in 1994 and 1995. Drove the track in a Holden V8 UTE and a V8 Commodore in 94. Have been back over the years for 10 trips in total and was there last year and now living in Perth and own my own piece of Aussie V8 motoring history, 2 Commodore V8's. Bathurst is an awesome place if you are a petrol head.
That’s very cool! Would have loved to see this place in the hay days
My daughter (complete with her L plates) did a few laps late last year in my supercharged 6L Caprice. One of my best memories ♥️
That is awesome! I’ll take my boys one day
On her L's. You should not be driving a Turbo, Supercharged or V8.
@@rhettcorbett3346
You can drive anything on your L’s look it up
It’s P plates that are restricted
@@rhettcorbett3346 you can drive anything on your Ls, its Ps were the restrictions are.

Enjoyed your video of driving around Mount Panorama in the Monaro. It’s a lot of fun. I went there for the first time in 2022 and took part in the Falcon Tribute Cruise. Had photographers there taking photos of everyone driving around the track. Really enjoyed the day and looked through the museum like you did. Now I go back each year for the same event. Always look forward to it. Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed this one I had a blast visiting it! Truly a special place for petrol heads
My parents live on the north side of town and look across the valley at that mount panorama sign from their driveway. Every time I visit, I run my grange around the track before heading back down to Sydney….it never gets old👍🏻🇦🇺
ill be back again! awesome place
Took a drive on that track 10 years ago in a 2-door Jeep Wrangler [ie: NOT a race car]. Coming off the top of the mountain at the legal speed limit of 60 km/h & then spooling down through the esses, I was seriously hanging-off the steering wheel and working the brakes vigorously on the way to Conrod Straight; made me appreciate how much skill those guys possess in order to effortlessly pull that off at three times the speed in a race car.
You are not wrong at all!! I felt the same
The thing I love about this channel is that you
“Ross reviews” can respect Holden and Ford for what power houses they were/are and how this channel carry’s their legacy.
Like a family rivalry.
Holden the brother and Ford the baby half sister. hehehehehe… Jk
Keep up the good work brother!
Love em both for sure 🇦🇺🇦🇺
my au v8 tickford loved it
She would ✅
In 1979 Peter brock won Bathurst by 6 laps in a a9x torana and broke the lap record in the last lap
What a beast of a racer eh
My home town. I loved going there for the race
Awesome town
Awesome work mate, Bathurst was one of the tracks I wish I got to race my VX around but never got the chance to sadly as it is such an iconic circuit.
Would be awesome with your VX 💪
@@RossReviewsaucoming down Conrod straight towards the chase would be epic! :)
That museum is amazing, went there years ago when I was young sadly I was unable to appreciate the beauty in those cars. Stunning display of power and Australian race culture, what an absolutely awesome place, glad to see it still open.
Watching Bathurst on Tv doesnt do it justice re how pretty damn big it is! I was like wtf when I went first time 😆
It’s massive eh! Very beautiful
I did this run in 1992 in my Holden Gemini, Lost control on a corner, ended up in the sand pit 😂 waited hours for a tow 😂
Never forget it. I was on my Ps.
🤣🤣 no way! Crazy story mate
Will be even more iconic to drive Bathurst in a AU Ford
Isn't that the one generation where Ford did really poorly in motorsport? Iirc Ford only got a podium at the 1000 once they hired a Holden driver! Now, XY on the other hand...
Maybe next time 🤣
First time I went there i did a skid up the cutting in a work Holden caprice on a Sunday morning. Fun times
Went to the race last year absolutely magical place to be
It really is
This video makes me want to go to Bathurst to see all of this for real. Also it's good to see that the green eyed AU Falcon still exists today. That car has to be one of the coolest looking V8 super cars ever made and still one of my top favorite V8 super cars till this day.
I've been a few times mate it's a magical place that's for sure you'd never get sick of visiting,I'm actually going back later in the year sometime 👍I didn't want the vid to end I could have watched this for hours man lol, loved it brother cheers.
Great Video, it's fun driving around Bathurst, I've done it Many many times. In my BF2 Fairmont Ghia. Always take a photo with my car on pole position showing the number " 1".😁
It's hard not wanting to gas it as you drive around!
Seeing it on TV doesn't do it justice, it's a crazy track and a crazy feeling driving around it.
It’s a massive track!
I'm so glad I took heaps of pictures of my VZ back 10 years ago on the main straight. Some fantastic Memories and still to this day, on holidays will do a lap or two of the track. Just awesome!
its really worth doing eh
@RossReviewsau Absolutely, and I can't wait to take the kids around it.
Well Done JR , Canadian bloke living in Oz getting into out brilliant car culture .. 👊
Thanks mate 🔥🇨🇦
When alan mofat came to Australia to drive for ford 1969 .He was taken for a ride to the top of the mountain they got out and said great view where is the race track ?.They said your on it he never looked down again .Not many barriers in those days .Great video ROSS
I love ❤️ this video so much Ross Reviews’ I really enjoyed it. You need to get to the Holden museum in Echuca before it closes down in less than a month’ I think April the 8th might be a great time to go.
Thanks for the tips!
@@RossReviewsau you welcome 🙏
I can remember when those SLR 5000's came out my mate brought one pretty sure it was Green anyway he almost killed us all in it... way twooooo much power for the street Bogan. but factory stock it was 'Frightning'. Thanks for the trip down memory lane bro LEGEND.
Glad you enjoyed it brother
I did my bathurst lap back in januray. Walked from p1 back to p1 in 58min 52sec. Did multiple laps in my hire car that weekend, but walking the entire track was just something else. It makes you appreciate the race, the track and the history so much more.
Also talking with a tattoo artist to do a tribute on my right foot (accelerator foot) with my lap time in an outline on the track and leave enough room inside the map to put down a new time should i ever walk the track again and beat my time
I imagine walking the track would be great also on a nice day
There are rumors of race tracks in the USA closing all targeted by growing population that complains about them and business wanting to build more right next to these areas... but then also complain when kids get crazy on the streets telling them to take it to the track which obviously there are less and less of.... being an American car enthusiast....I admire and respect the Austrailian car/racing culture and history there and love listening and watching all the stories as much as i enjoy the American stuff..... love the content... keep it up
G'day mate, wishing I was you today , and not because I'd be 25+ years younger. Always good to see you, this one was a bit special. I've gotta get over there and experience it for myself
Gotta Love Bathurst
Absolutely
It’s so good eh?
I’ve done it a few times over the years… You totally don’t get how steep it is til you actually drive it 👍🏻
It’s very high!
The Peter Brock Malboro Commodore. His number is " 05" pounced o5. Not number 5
Love that museum
The 2dore sounds great. I will definitely be doing the trip over from WA, probably for 2025 or if they are dong a 10 years since Falcon production finished, then in 2026 for sure. The locals rent out their houses to the race teams when the 1000 is on.
It is a hell of a buzz to drive this circuit. TV does not do the elevation changes justice. We did 5 laps in a rental A few years back and had decided discretion was the better option to keep my license as we just kept going quicker. Huge respect to the drivers who race here ❤️
100% was a great time driving around
Thank you for vlogging this
My pleasure!!
nice take on bathurst and the Museum ,,,
Thanks 🥲🫶
It's a great experience driving around the circuit
It really is!
Bring back what it once was... production cars!!!! All classes on track at the same time 🥳🥳
AGREED..
I miss the Group C era :(
bathurst 6 hour is what your looking for. multi class racing in production cars with a mix of professional and amateur drivers. Happens easter weekend.
@@cameronshaw7294 Bathurst 12 hour is mint as well....I've been enjoying that more than the Supertaxis 1000. Can't get into it now there's no Holden or Ford Falcon, it's only Mustang v Camaro.
That Bluebird is more like a miniature XD Falcon than any commodore, then they moved onto the R30 and 31s before Godzilla.
New drinking game, Ross.
I’m having shot every time you say cool!
I’m 23 sips deep!
🤣
Nah mate, take a shot every time he says "lad"
I was excited 😆 sue me
Awsome man i go there all the time
It’s killer
A red Monaro with red interior is the way to do it!
was great fun
Awesome video Jono 👍
Im pretty sure Dick Johnsons greens tuff xe hit the 300kmh mark in the 80's. Love the place actually lived there for a while as a little kid. 😜
I remember Glen Seaton doing 302 maybe early 90’s
God damn!🤯 that would be wild
Best ep yet, I live in the blue mountains, about an hour and a half from bathusrt
Thanks mate! I really had fun on this one
Yeah i went to the 12 hour a month ago, absolutely amazing. You should go to an event one time
It looks great ..cant wait to see ot myself
You will love it mate
That is a beautiful Monaro Ross👍🏻
It really is!
Did you know that Peter Brock and Allan Moffat teamed up once or twice?
Hope you had fun on the track ;)
A BLAST!
I could drive it every day if I wish, I live 5 minutes from pit lane, cheers
Nice very lucky
@@RossReviewsau I don't drive it in a red Monaro, however it is a Holden and it's a 5.7lt v8, it's an 2004 AWD Holden Adventra, before moving to Bathurst about 18 months ago I had made the trip 5 times for the race, it's an awesome experience, cheers
Me and my mate came to the 2008 Bathurst race for the first time.. we were rocking a vr ss haha.. at the time the guys rolling in in the ve 317 clubby were the wow factor 😂. That point they were the hottest hsv's
awesome place to visit eh
I drove there with my vz clubby you don’t know how hard it is to not thrash around that track 🤦🏼♂️😅
Very tuff 🤣
Haven’t watched yet*
Just wanted to say I’ve been watching for just over 4 years, LOVE the content bro! 🤙🏻 such a passionate dude, I’ve learned about SO many cars through your channel it’s crazy! Keep it up bruvva!! 🤙🏻
I went around the mountain in my mums ‘91 EB XR8 S-PAC with pacemakers and high flow cats with a full 2.5” exhaust, sounded Deadly! Was wondering if you’d be down to come take it for a spin in a video or something, I’m in Dubbo which is about 2 hours from Bathurst. Needs a quick tidy up but she’s beautiful. Keen to hear back :)
Plus Toyota Nationals are this weekend
Appreciate you brother 👑🫡
Cool vid man.
Thanks
Cool review bro never been my self but get the privilege to drive a 1958 Bathurst winning car called Holden Prad special built by Jack Pryor and Clive Adam’s witch still driven in VHRR club meetings cheers Ross 👍Vz Glenn 🏎
Did bathurst in 2004 in my brother's hj 2 door monaro, 308 with vn ss top end, shhhhh did 180km/hr down conrod before the speed cameras
That’s epic
Was a highlight in my life
You should have tried it before they tamed it. Gnarly track. Amazing the speeds they get around it.
I wish
And it looks a lot wider on the TV than it actually is
It’s narrow
Excellent trip ..Great vlog 👍✌🤙🚗
Glad you enjoyed it
i could never live on the roads of this track cos my car would be getting thrashed to and from work daily
🤣🤣🤣 would lose ya licence real quick
I did it in a Centura :)
Nice one
During covid I got to do a few laps in my SS. A fantastic track. Shame what the nannies have done to it.
To many Nannie’s in aus
Have a Holden, just too far for me lol
it was an awesome drive
Nah. Prefer to do it in a XA XB XC Falcon Hardtop.
Would be nice
@@RossReviewsauDid it in 2019 at the Hardop Anniversary. Bathurst/ Mount Panorama full of Falcons, GTs, Goss's, Landau's. Gold.
If you think the race drivers have big balls, what about the skateboarders that have speed events down the mountain. RUclips it.
This guy is Jamaican he keeps saying 'man' 😂
🇯🇲
Brock sold out though and there was a EA brock falcon and even worse and brock Lada Samara
I love Holden's & Lada's....stay salty mate.....😉🙏🏻
@@a8nb462 was said tongue in cheek. 😀
@@michaelhart5886 all good Michael....I wish you well....🤝
Driven round it heaps, backwards is weird.Track looks patchy in parts.Needs a re pave maybe. But yeh Ross ,the 1st time is unforgetable:)
Was nice when I was there
You were that close to the best livery of all time (#11 Perkins VS) and you didn't even show it...... Blasphemy!
Cool video otherwise 😉
no no no definately NO !!!!
??
Used to love your videos ross. Disappointing now days
? how so
Dude seriously for those that are less than educated about Australian Motorsport history you need to take the time to research what your looking at. The VB commodore sitting next to the Marlboro VK is the repco round Australia rally car that brock drove to victory in some of the most arduous and shocking roads in Australia. He lost 10 kilos of weight during the event because of the heat. No air conditioned campers and ice baths like the current batch of clowns that drive the supercar go karts. Just pure guts and talent. Long live the king 🤴
I just read the card man.. had no idea it was even a think.. awesome race tho wish they still did it
All good mate I’m a stickler for details and remember that race well. The whole repco event is on RUclips and it’s well worth a few brews to watch. Keep up the good work 👍
Much as I’d love to drive mount panorama in my Holden, it’s a bit far😂 I have driven Silverstone though 🫡
Worth the trip.. awesome experience
Any car is good if its grunt comes from a ICE FUELED BY GODS ENERGY ":PETROL:"of course if its got grunt it can never in any mans language be a wokie airy fairy EV,.
