The car crash happened the same time when Wanda was closing the hex in episode 9.
William Kaplan died in the crash and Billys soul attached to him when the hex closed

Don't forget that Billy literally said "Goodnight Tommy" inside the dissolving hex and then was suddenly sitting in a car, in pain, covered in blood with no memories AT ALL.
In the comics the twins were reincarnated, but into the past (so the ages would be right for the timeline) and gradually developed their mutations (it was the Xmen universe) and also memories of their "past" lives as Wanda's magically created children (there were soul parts from Mephisto, demon politics, lots of memory spells... it was a mess)
Billy, THIS Billy, understood that he must indeed be William Kaplan, who died briefly in a terrible car crash and lost his memories. He had no reason to think otherwise, except the strange feeling that he was somewhere he shouldn't be, and missing things that he didn't know he'd ever had.
His parents supported him, but he never regained his memories as William (because William was dead) and he had no idea about his Billy Maximoff identity, nor any memories of what happened inside the hex.
So for three years he pieced "his" history together from the contents of William's room, his books, school reports, letters, emails, past hobbies, and the information he could read from the minds of those who actually remembered William. He spent every day trying to reaffirm that he WAS William Kaplan. That he DID belong. That he was NOT missing something vital. For three years he has tried to be who he thought he was.
At the same time he needed to find out HOW he got these new powers, and why he felt he should look different, sound different, and have a different name... whatever that name might be.
So he started from the where, when, and who of the events of his accident. Once he found out about Wanda and Vision, and their children... he suspected, but still didn't know. Note that the only name that seemed to actually TOUCH him emotionally was "Tommy", the last word hex-Billy said, the first word incarnated-Billy said.
For three years he's had unformed and unfocused survivor's guilt. He discovers his probable identity, that he's taken someone else's life and family, and that there might be a twin brother out there somewhere (he's always felt SOMEONE was there, but not there) and he goes haring off to free a deadly witch and use her to get to the end of the Witches' Road and find "what or who" is missing.
When he says at the end there "I'm not that nice" it's filled with full-blown survivor's guilt, guilt over his "killing" William Kaplan, guilt at killing Lilia and Jennifer (he doesn't know he and Agatha are wrong about their demise) and probably guilt over NOT feeling sad about Wanda or Vision. After all, they're just names to him. The only connection this new Billy has is to the lost twin. He's also ghosted his "boyf" Eddie and might die on this quest leaving Tommy lost, and the Kaplans and Eddie to wonder where he went, and never knowing his fate.
It's no wonder the kid went Goth.

The twist of Lilia sigiling him, we did NOT see coming. Something tells us that us being wrong about that is important and will come back later. Also, she is canonically Billy's godmother. So yeah. The reveal means both characters can finally grow into their comic roles.

The Tower is a tarot card and The Tower reversed is referring to how the card was pulled.
I googled it and it means “personal transformation, fear of change, averting disaster”

When Billy was ended in the Hex he was 10 (he had a dog and he aged up on purpose to get the dog since his parents said he couldn't have a dog until he was 10). William was 13. There is not that much difference. If, in fact, the soul has an age, then when William was 16, Billy would be 13. This difference gets less and less important with every year. Again, this presupposes the soul has an age and doesn't fill the shoes of the vessel it is in. The most important thing in this episode is the black heart that Eddie texts him. Lilia wrote a black heart as a member of the coven because the sigil prevented her from writing his name. Everybody thought that meant Rio, but it was Billy. Billy has always been a member of the coven. The door to the road did not open until he ran down the stairs at Agatha's house and it glowed blue. Rio is not in the Coven. She is most likely not even a witch at all (she is death). I think she is the villain and Agatha is going to save Billy from Rio, who wants Billy's or William's soul or the body. I wouldn't be surprised if William's ghost or soul shows up in some form toward the end.

I don't think Billy Kaplan is completely dead, hopefully the two souls merged.
They all said Wanda is dead and he can only sense his brother. They have a twin connection and Tommy would need help more than Wanda since he's not magical

I think Agatha cares much more than she lets on about him as she softens when she calls him by his name and has tears in her eyes when he turns around and says “William”.
As to why he’s going after Tommy? Because it’s presumed Wanda is dead for the time being and bringing Tommy in allows for 3 members (counting Billy & Eddie) towards the Young Avengers if they decide to go that route.

My understanding from things I've read is that Eddie is not Teddy. Different actor. But I agree that Agatha has real feelings for Billy and vice versa.

23:39 to be fair, this is NOT a second season of WV. This is a spin off and they make that explicitly clear when promoting it. It is in the same universe but this is not that show.
24:41 nope. Billy spent 10 days total with Wanda and all he knows about her is the pain she’s caused. Rebecca has raised him for 3 years in a loving peaceful home. This is not Wanda’s show, it’s Agatha’s show that is introducing Wiccan.
I also think Billy resents the parts of himself that are like Wanda. The part that says he’s above hurting people and manipulating situations to reach his goals, and talks down to Agatha in a moment where she is vulnerable with him. Then he does the same thing to her and the other witches. Whether they actually die or not doesn’t change is intent.
Wanda also did that to Agatha - telling her the difference between them was that Agatha did things on purpose and she didn’t . But we know that’s a flat out lie bc both Vision and Monica had told her and she shut them down. She also left the hex to threaten the military not to mess with her world before turning their guns off her to face each other and going back in - fully aware of her actions.

Everything in this boy's room is stuff from the damned road, and talks about Dario Argento when ep 4 was filmed a bit in his style.
I, too, am wondering how boyf fits into all this. Just writing boyf feels unfinished and is sus to me

Joe Locke really held his own against Kathryn Hahn. I think the feelings about real William Kaplan are behind the "not nice" comment in the end. I think he feels some guilt about it and not being truthful.
