Like your workflow of taking lectures/PDF to digital notes and eventually to RemNote. With the PDF Uploads and Highlights in the Pro version of RemNote, how does that change your workflow in regards to processing notes from PDF?
@@KoiAcademy yeah I do. I've only been using Remnote recently, about 2 weeks now, but I think it's got the potential to be the best app out there. I haven't tried out the image occlusion tool yet, but I think it'll be powerful when I get the hang of it
Spot on! Too many people are focused on "which is better", when they should be focused on which is the best for which task. You've addressed this brilliantly in this video!
I am a physician and lifelong learner. When I was in med school I barely had time for bodily functions. How on earth did you and your brother create, develop and promote Remnote while in med school. Now THAT would be a video.
Converting handwritten notes to text....GAME CHANGER! I was getting really slack in putting notes into Remnote because it seemed like an extra chore that I couldn’t get to after studying, but now if I’m just editing the content....so much easier !! Thank you for breaking it down, this is definitely going to help with my study workflow! :D
Georgia Knight so glad it all made sense! We are building out the importer to allow you to import any notes you want from most note taking apps, hopefully that will be even more helpful for us all!
I just came across your guys’ page today, but how much effort you put in there, the visualisations, the fact your videos are science based, sharing personal experience to guide us how we can implement the different learning methods, absolutely incredible. You deserve so much more views while helping so many students, so I‘m commenting for the youtube algorithm!! 👏🏼

@@KoiAcademy Yeah for sure. I'm actually going to high school and got it for the next 4 years for high school. I hope to study medicine in the future, and become a neurosurgeon via a BS/MD program (hopefully, Brown university PLME), so I felt that the iPad would help me be able to make my study more effective as the program is super competitive.
Great video. Best I’ve seen on how to approach learning and recall. I’m halfway through a course using combo of Roam and Brainscape. Didn’t take to RemNote but the drag and drop of drawings and your workflow looks really good. Worth noting that image occlusion needs RemNote Pro.
OH MY GOD! Thank you. This detailed step-by-step guide to note taking and actual memorization definitely helped ease my anxiety to learn all this material. Im premed and determined to get this..
Thank you for this process. Using GoodNotes too for my 1st part of learning, I search a solution to solidify my memory using flash card. Remnote seems to be awesome and more efficient than Anki (that I have already used) and Quizlet (cool testing tools but the repetition learning system isn’t efficient). FYI flascards are in beta test on Good notes (I really like the option to handwrite some flashcards, otherwise there is no SRS). Let’s go on Remnote!
I wish I had know more about the different iPad features before I bought my mini. The mini is great for reading articles on the bus/train, but the pen is so helpful for taking notes! More iPad envy after watching this!
Being a good student comes at a cost... Like going to school isn't enough, one has to self teach other studying skills to be effective. True success is an everytime pursuit.
I think my mum has to buy me an iPad just for this reason. This is a game starter for me. I'm an incoming college freshy and looking for effective ways I could survive it. I think I just found the one! Thanks 😊
Fantastic! This has started to answer my questions about how to integrate handwritten digital notes into RemNote. I'm using an Android tablet with Samsung Notes which recently was upgraded substantially with its features such as file management, tags and OCR search capabilities of the handwritten notes. Currently in grad school, I find this quite a change from my undergraduate days 45 years ago, with only a typewriter -- no computers or mobile devices at that time.

This app is amazing can't wait to use this for studying. About to become a third year student this year. Excited to learn! Thank you for another great video ✊🏻
It looks cool. i have a Samsung tablet with a note-taking app and the flashcard app Anki. it uses the same strategy with a specific algorithm, but the connection is not as fluid as is it here. i have to type the notes extra. i just can take screenshots, but that not what i want to do. i really want to try remnote and make a comparison.

Great video, I love this kind of real examples, it's much easier to understand :) How do you take notes during lectures? Just as "raw" handwriting/typing notes and then at home you gather everything in Goodnotes or during classes you already take notes in Goodnotes?
Perhaps you all can elaborate on how to manage time with the learning and note-taking process. I try to stick to these types of techniques but I fall behind very quickly when trying to study multiple subjects. Thank you for this input!
Ha yes! I'm in med school with about 4hours a day to study. On certain days i might fit in another hour maybe. All the scientifically proven study techniques are great but I struggle to apply all those in the limited time

Hey! Which app do you use to study the pdfs and transfer useful info to notability/goodnotes?! Also is it possible to transfer notes from notability in a similar way to RemNote?
That’s awesome! Roam and notion are very different so long as you figure out what your needs are. Definitely check out RemNote as well, obviously biased here but it offers basically everything that Roam does, but is also free
Hello. This was an amazing video But, I dont have an ipad. I do have an touch screen laptop. Can u please help me out, and tell me on which app (similar to goodnotes) can I perform similar function on my touch screen laptop
Hey Ahmed, notability would totally work as well. You just have to pay an extra $2 in app to use the handwriting to text converter, but GoodNotes comes with it!
wow this is EVERYTHING i've ever needed in one place. Does this transferring from good notes available in free version? Cuz it's hard for me to do $6 a month (from sri lanka. So after currency convertion tht's a pretty big amount) i applied for the price reduction.hope it gets accepted 🤞

Great video! So, beyond taking the notes up front in Goodnotes and then transferring them into RemNote, do you usually not go back to ur Goodnotes at all? Besides, slowing down ur thought process while handwriting in Goodnotes, do u see any other benefit?
Usually not, but GoodNotes definitely excels at the note taking step. Of course everyone has a different style! Maybe some evidence that students who hand write their notes may do better on tests compared to typing..

@@KoiAcademy thanks so much for the reply, and yeah I ordered the air I will be getting it tomorrow. And just with medical school or physician assistant school what are you advice in studying to master the material. And the differences with Physician Assistant school to Medical school ?
I'm waiting for my iPad Pro to arrive, I'm going to use it for medical school in Sweden. Do you use a screen protector on your iPad? I was thinking about buying a matte screen protector but when I tried out the iPad and Apple Pencil in the store I liked writing without one. But when I owned an iPad and the first gen Apple Pencil a couple of years ago, I remember not liking the experience of writing without a screen protector... maybe they changed something with the new iPad and pencil to make the writing experience better..(?) :)
Very exciting! Both medical school and the iPad Pro haha. I do use a matte screen protector, paperlike. I personally enjoy the feeling of it more than without because it adds a little traction and feels more natural m. To each their own though :)
The iPad Pro has a laminated display, which basically means the glass screen and the display are touching each other, so the apple pencil is in contact with the display, in the ipad, the screen does not stick to the inner display...i guess that's why a difference in writing
If only I had known back in medschool ... did the first half of my studies on paper, then switched on to onenote ... but you combine the best of both worlds - heck, you even add a 3rd one (Anki style). DAMN YOUUUU ! A question, does Remnote also recognize text that's on pictures (for tags etc). This would be so handy, regarding lists of differentials for example, that often are found in tables that one can just screenshot and upload to one's knowledge database. If not, do you have a solution for that ? Very looking forward to an answer, since I already saw there exists an addon ton convert text into diagrams and that was the second "Must" for me to make a transition !! (I think it can't yet, but it would be AMAZING if the diagrams could also reprensent the pictures) Love you guys, just subed to skillsshare to access your more in depth content - take care
Ah, and since I'm at it, do you recommend any app to inscrease one's productivity ? With a built in agenda, templates for to do lists, ways to store and link projects etc.
@mikeandmatty I‘m using Remnote for some time now, is there a way, once I‘m done with my notes, to print these notes on pdf to have a final physical summary of a topic printed out? Cheers
what is the storage capacity of your IPAD is 128GB enough for 5-6 year if I take notes only on it and download all e-books, lectures? just asking becoz i want to use it for long term.
Great video, just found you guys recently. Can I ask why you chose the 11” iPad Pro over the 12.9”? And also what storage did you get? Keep up the good work
Nice to meet you Jason! I picked the 11 inch because I wanted it to be more portable. My laptop is a 15inch, so I wanted something almost “opposite”, and 256g storage. Again I’ve been using external 2tb ssd cards, so native storage wasn’t a big deal. Don’t know if that helps at all!
Mike and Matty Hi! I wonder what ssd cards you use? I don’t know anything about these things, but wanted one to store all my documents, pictures,.. on. :)

What about notability?
Hey! Great videos as always .. I had a doubt if anyone can help ...
is remote accessible on iPad only via safari or internet .? I can’t find an app
Yea only browser for now but we will def build iOS app
hi! how many gigabytes is your ipad?
(I think it can't yet, but it would be AMAZING if the diagrams could also reprensent the pictures)
Love you guys, just subed to skillsshare to access your more in depth content - take care
Cheers
Sorry we don’t have that feature yet but it’s sounds like a great idea and could be done for the future
@@KoiAcademy yes I also think that would be useful
Can I convert my word doc. notes to remnote ?
what is the storage capacity of your IPAD is 128GB enough for 5-6 year if I take notes only on it and download all e-books, lectures? just asking becoz i want to use it for long term.
I don’t know anything about these things, but wanted one to store all my documents, pictures,.. on. :)
